Book Teaching Kids to Care Cooperate

Download or read book Teaching Kids to Care Cooperate written by Kathy Pike and published by Scholastic Inc.. This book was released on 2000 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: J.L. Gili’s selection of Lorca’s poems in Spanish, with his own unassuming prose versions as guides to the originals, first appeared in 1960. With its excellent introduction and selection it remains a perfect introductory guide to the great poet. The book is ideal for newcomers to Lorca who know, or are prepared to grapple with, a little Spanish. It influenced a generation of readers and poets, including Ted Hughes who first encountered Lorca through this book. Spain’s most celebrated modern poet, Federico García Lorca was born in 1898 near Granada. Poet, dramatist, musician and artist, he was the author of The Gypsy Ballad Book’ (1928) and Poet in New York’ (1940). After his return from New York and Cuba to Republican Spain in 1930, he devoted himself to the theatre, writing three tragedies including Blood Wedding’ (1933). An outspoken supporter of the Republic, he was assassinated at the height of his fame by Nationalist partisans in Granada in 1936, on the eve of the Spanish Civil War.

Download or read book Language Arts Math and Science in the Elementary Music Classroom written by Kim Milai and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2017-08-02 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Language Arts, Math, and Science in the Elementary Music Classroom provides a practical guide to help music teachers incorporate elementary classroom subjects into their curriculum using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)-inspired strategies, with added emphasis on social studies. It includes a complete elementary music curriculum for kindergarten, first, and second grades, and has cross-referencing charts for regular elementary classroom teachers to find music activities for their classroom. Importantly, it shows teachers how to include the artistic processes of creating, performing, responding, and connecting in their lessons. These processes make up the new music standards featured in NAfME's new Core Arts Music Standards. In order to maximize comprehension, the book includes assessment tests, sheet music, work sheet templates, and brainstorming activities centered on using technology to enhance composition projects. Lesson plans are organized by the calendar year, each inspired by the seasons, American culture, and world culture. These lessons may be used as is or used to generate new curricula altogether.

Book The Complete Guide to Absolutely Everything Abridged Adventures in Math and Science

Download or read book The Complete Guide to Absolutely Everything Abridged Adventures in Math and Science written by Adam Rutherford and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2022-01-25 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The complete story of the universe and absolutely everything in it (minus the boring parts). Despite our clever linguistic abilities, humans are spectacularly ill-equipped to comprehend what’s happening in the universe. Our senses and intuition routinely mislead us. The Complete Guide to Absolutely Everything (Abridged) tells the story of how we came to suppress our monkey minds and perceive the true nature of reality. Written with wit and humor, this brief book tells the story of science—tales of fumbles and missteps, errors and egos, hard work, accidents, and some really bad decisions—all of which have created the sum total of human knowledge. Geneticist Adam Rutherford and mathematician Hannah Fry guide readers through time and space, through our bodies and brains, showing how emotions shape our view of reality, how our minds tell us lies, and why a mostly bald and curious ape decided to begin poking at the fabric of the universe. Rutherford and Fry shine as science sleuths, wrestling with some truly head-scratching questions: Where did time come from? Do we have free will? Does my dog love me? Hilarious sidebars present memorable scientific oddities: for example, hypnotized snails, human-sized ants, and the average time it takes most animals to evacuate their bladders. (A surprisingly consistent twenty-one seconds, if you must know.) Both rigorous and playful, The Complete Guide to Absolutely Everything (Abridged) is a celebration of the weirdness of the cosmos, the strangeness of humans, and the joys and follies of scientific discovery.

Book Mother Goose Goes Broadway

Download or read book Mother Goose Goes Broadway written by Antonia Gazetas Weese and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-09 with total page 71 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mother Goose Goes Broadway is a musical, educational, mystical play production with an intergraded story line meant to work along with some school curricula and reading programs, including math, English, Reading, and Science. An original musical play that uses an educational story line in order to bring an awareness of sex, drugs, abductions, and violence. Bulling would be an example. This awareness is brought to our Youths in our communities through the arts, we can reach into the hearts of our youths. Using their minds and talents in expressing themselves. Our youths come from all denominations and creeds. Music has a way of cancelling a person's origin. Teaching them to work and live together is our goal. Physical and Mental Stress Training thru the Arts. Parents and teachers are somewhat at a loss, leaving their children to take care of one another. Due to parents' work hours, teachers are left to pick up the pieces at school and try to fix situations. Back in the day, this might have been okay. Today, we have to unite for the welfare of all citizens. Community leaders must mentor our youths for the well-being of our children's survival. People must help, or all of us will lose sight of our youths. Antonia Gazetas Weese wants to pull youths and communities together. By writing this musical play, we as a community can start a successful pilot program for students to stay in school and make education their focus and continue to college. Teachers and students can bring any community together with fine arts programs intergraded through the colleges and high schools. This book is a good example of how to put on a musical, bring it together, and receive credit for participating.
