Book The Torah

Download or read book The Torah written by and published by . This book was released on 2023-11-11 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Torah is Judaism's most important text. It contains the first five books of the Hebrew Bible-the Tanakh-which are also the first five books of the Christian Bible. The Tanakh is essentially the same as what Christians call the Old Testament, with slight differences in the order and structure of the included books. The Torah begins with the creation of the world and ends with the death of Moses. The first full draft of the Torah is believed to have been completed in the 6th or 7th century B.C., and has been revised numerous times over subsequent centuries. Jewish tradition teaches that the Torah is the revelation of God, given to Moses, and written down by Moses. It is the document that contains all the rules by which the Jewish people structure their spiritual lives. The word torah means "to teach," and it can mean different things in different contexts. In its most common usage, the Torah refers to the Five Books of Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. But the word torah is also sometimes used to refer to the entire Hebrew Bible-the Tanakh, or Written Torah-and sometimes even the entire body of Jewish law and teachings. Traditionally, each synagogue has a copy of the Torah written on a scroll that is wound around two wooden poles. This is known as a Sefer Torah and it is handwritten by a sofer (scribe) who must copy the text perfectly. In modern printed form, as in this volume, the Torah is usually called a Chumash, which comes from the Hebrew word for the number five. This book, The Torah: The Five Books of Moses, is excerpted from a larger work in progress, The Holy Bible: King James Readers' Version. As you will see, it is formatted like an epic poem-which it is-and feels like you are reading the King James Bible-which you are-but more smoothly, and with more immediate understanding. It also contains details and names missing from the King James Version that turn up in other versions of the Bible. Needless to say, I hope it increases your enjoyment and comprehension of this keystone document, whose influence on Western civilization and culture is without equal. No education is complete without reading it. Twice.

God's True Name has been known for thousands of years yet man decided it was too sacred to use. Then why did God give us His name over 6,800 times in the Old Testament? He said don't abuse it, not don't use it. Isn't it time we returned His Name to where it belongs, in His Word? Honor His Name with His Word. Not 'God' or 'G-d' not 'LORD' or L-RD' not even 'Jehovah' although this has become the English pronunciation (There is no 'J' in the Hebrew alphabet). His True Name with full vowels has been found in over 2,300 Hebrew manuscripts. Yes, our God has a Name and it is YeHoVaH. Isn't it time to start calling Our God by His True Name? No longer hidden by priests, popes, ministers, or rabbis. Find out what others have known and hidden for centuries, all in the name of fear. Fear no more. Our God said, "Therefore I will teach them-- this time I will teach them my power and might. Then they will know that my name is YeHoVaH. Jeremiah 16:21 In The True Name Torah, His Name has been returned to His Word. Read it just as He said it and commanded Moses to record. We call other gods by their name: Zeus, Poseidon, Buddha, Allah, and hundreds of others. It's time we called the one true God by His name. Read it, say it, and shout it with joy. His Name has been returned to His Torah, the First Five Books of the Bible. There is no other name like it because there is no other god like Him. Does your bible contain the True Name of God? Book excerpt: How will we sing the instruction of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible? Torah, also known as the Pentateuch, refers to the five books of Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. It is also called ‘the Law’, in distinction from ‘the Prophets’. Torah is sung through every year in the Synagogue. It sets the scene for the drama to unfold in the Hebrew canon. Everyone knows the beginning of Torah when the Mystery began the process of creating the world, In the Beginning. But what is this as Instruction for us? And how will we sing it in our own tongue? And how should we hear that ancient song? These stories are among the most famous in the world. Reading them with the mind that they are entirely set to music will allow us to hear them with their tone of voice restored. The Torah is volume 1 of the series, The Hebrew Bible and Its Music.
