The legends of Ireland and Scotland tell a fantastic tale of an Egyptian queen and her Greek husband, who were exiled from Egypt to Ireland at some point during the second millennium BC. It is said that it was from this Queen Scota and King Gaythelos that the modern titles for the Scottish and Gaelic people were derived. But what are we to make of this ancient story “ is it based more upon fact or fiction? Historians have, as one might expect, taken the story to be complete fiction; but Ralph Ellis has taken a lateral look at this mythology, and found many links and associations that lead to one inescapable conclusion “ that the extraordinary tale of Queen Scota and King Gaythelos is probably true. ... Book The Ark of the Covenant in Its Egyptian Context

Download or read book The Ark of the Covenant in Its Egyptian Context written by David Falk and published by Hendrickson Publishers. This book was released on 2020-01-01 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Ark of the Covenant in Its Egyptian Context: An Illustrated Journey invites readers on a journey of discovery that will change the way they view the Ark of the Covenant forever! Although much has been written about the Ark of the Covenant, few authors engage the wealth of information available that pertains to Egyptian material culture. The Ark of the Covenant in Its Egyptian Context: An Illustrated Journey is the first book to explore the complex history of sacred ritual furniture in Egypt that predated the ark by hundreds of years. Within Egyptian culture, over four hundred examples of ritual furniture exist that shed light on the design and appearance of the ark. These examples form patterns that provide context for the Israelites' understanding of the ark at the time of its construction. That understanding would have been obvious to the Israelites of the time, but has since become obscured over the millennia. This groundbreaking book is the first to connect the Ark of the Covenant with the archaeology and chronology of ancient Egypt, and it does so in an accessible way with straightforward text and dozens of full-color photographs and graphics. Key points and features: A groundbreaking work of scholarship--the first of its kind to connect the Ark of the Covenant with its ancient Egyptian context.High-level scholarship is paired with straightforward text, making it an accessible volume for students and curious laypeople, as well as experts in the field.Includes dozens of full-color photographs and graphics depicting ancient Egyptian artifacts and art.Durable hardcover is built to withstand heavy use in classrooms and libraries.

Book Tempest and Exodus

  • Publisher : Edfu Books
  • Release : 2010-11-04
  • ISBN : 1905815212
  • Pages : 317 pages

Download or read book Tempest and Exodus written by Ralph Ellis and published by Edfu Books. This book was released on 2010-11-04 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ===epub format=== . The Tempest Stele of Ahmose I contains a quotation from the biblical account of the plagues. This again demonstrates that the Israelite leaders were the Hyksos pharaohs of Lower Egypt, and so the biblical Jacob was probably the Hyksos pharaoh Jacoba. This earlier date for the exodus means that the biblical plagues were probably a real event, caused by the island of Thera (Santorini) exploding; and the fallout from this natural catastrophe caused a historically documented civil war and great exodus of the Hyksos-Israelite people from Egypt. However, if these links between Egyptian and Israelite history are true, then it is possible that Mt Sinai was actually the Israelite name for the Great Pyramid of Giza. The sacred mountain of the Jews was actually a pyramid. Sequel to "Jesus, Last of the Pharaohs". Followed by "Solomon, Pharaoh of Egypt", and "Eden in Egypt". L

Book The Pharaoh of the Exodus Fairy tale or real history

Download or read book The Pharaoh of the Exodus Fairy tale or real history written by Gerard Gertoux and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-01-23 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For Egyptologists as well as archaeologists, and even now Bible scholars, the answer to the question: Who was the pharaoh of the Exodus, the answer is obvious: there was nobo because the biblical story was a myth (Dever: 2003, 233). Consequently, who to believe: Moses or Egyptologists? Several scholars (Finkelstein, Dever and others) posit that the Exodus narrative may have developed from collective memories of the Hyksos expulsions of Semitic Canaanites from Egypt, possibly elaborated on to encourage resistance to the 7th century domination of Judah by Egypt. For these scholars the liberation from Egypt after the "10 plagues", as it is written in the Book of Exodus, is quite different from the historical "war of liberation against the Hyksos". What are the Egyptian documents underlying this hypothesis: none, and what is the chronology of this mysterious war: nobody knows! Consequently, who to believe: Moses or Egyptologists? This study will give the answer.

Book Shards of Illumination II

Download or read book Shards of Illumination II written by Ralph Ellis and published by Edfu Books Ltd. This book was released on 2024-03-11 with total page 644 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: *** eBook edition, with colour images *** Description: The Shards series are a compilation of hundreds of posts and articles I have written during 2022 and 2023. Both volumes cover a large selection of topics, from alternative biblical exegesis, to energy policy criticism, to climate deception, and to covid idiocy. Yet the disinformation and gaslighting continues unabated, and has even surpassed the peak of just two years ago. When will it end, I hear you ask? Only when we stand up to it, and call it out in public. Our new age is not the Anthropocene, it is actually the Deceptocene. Thus we see: Clerics only telling their flocks half of the gospel story. Medics refusing to investigate alternative therapeutics. Climate scientists amending and cherry-picking data. The media not investigating alternate facts and data. Academics jumping on bandwagons for grant funding. Politicians using cherry-picked data to their advantage. These many deceptions can only be the result of intentional deceit, not mere incompetence. Although these deceits are invigorated by bandwagon-riders - those who seek personal advantage through turning a blind-eye to the corruption. It is time to stand up to the Woke cry-bullies, and break through the deception. V1.9 2024 eBook colour. .
