Download or read book Exclusive Reactions at High Momentum Transfer IV written by Anatoly Radyushkin and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2011 with total page 486 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Proceedings include talks given at the 4th Workshop on Exclusive Reactions at High Momentum Transfer at Jefferson Lab, Newport News, VA USA, the world's leading facility performing research on nuclear, hadronic and quark-gluon structure of matter. Exclusive reactions are becoming one of the major sources of information about the deep structure of the nucleons and other hadrons. The workshop focused on the application of a variety of exclusive reactions at high momentum transfer, utilizing unpolarized and polarized beams and targets, to obtain information about nucleon ground state and excited state structure at short distances. This is a subject which is central to the programs of current accelerators and especially planned future facilities. The topics include: generalized parton distributions, deeply virtual Compton scattering, deeply virtual meson production (DVMP), transverse structure of hadrons (TMD), hadron form factors ? elastic and transition, quantum chromodynamics (perturbative, non-perturbative, lattice calculations), and physics to study at an Electron Ion Collider.

This book was released on 2008 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book reviews the present state of knowledge of the anomalous magnetic moment a=(g-2)/2 of the muon. The muon anomalous magnetic moment is one of the most precisely measured quantities in elementary particle physics and provides one of the most stringent tests of relativistic quantum field theory as a fundamental theoretical framework. It allows for an extremely precise check of the standard model of elementary particles and of its limitations.

Download or read book Particle Physics Reference Library written by Herwig Schopper and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020 with total page 632 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This first open access volume of the handbook series contains articles on the standard model of particle physics, both from the theoretical and experimental perspective. It also covers related topics, such as heavy-ion physics, neutrino physics and searches for new physics beyond the standard model. A joint CERN-Springer initiative, the "Particle Physics Reference Library" provides revised and updated contributions based on previously published material in the well-known Landolt-Boernstein series on particle physics, accelerators and detectors (volumes 21A, B1,B2,C), which took stock of the field approximately one decade ago. Central to this new initiative is publication under full open access

Download or read book Hadron Form Factors written by Alexander Khodjamirian and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-03-13 with total page 373 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces the phenomenology and theory of hadron form factors in a consistent manner, deriving step-by-step the key equations, defining the form factors from the matrix elements of hadronic transitions and deriving their symmetry relations. Explained are several general concepts of particle theory and phenomenology exemplified by hadron form factors. The main emphasis here is on learning the analytical methods in particle phenomenology. Many examples of hadronic processes involving form factors are considered, from the pion electromagnetic scattering to heavy B-meson decays. In the second part of the book, modern techniques of the form factor calculation, based on the method of sum rules in the theory of strong interactions, quantum chromodynamics, are introduced in an accessible manner. This book will be a useful guide for graduate students and early-career researchers working in the field of particle phenomenology and experiments. Features: • The first book to address the phenomenology of hadron form factors at a pedagogical level in one coherent volume • Contains up-to-date descriptions of the most important form factors of the electroweak transitions investigated in particle physics experiments

Download or read book Current Problems in Particle Physics and Cosmology written by K. Tamvakis and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-06-04 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Current Problems in Particle Physics and Cosmology covers the proceedings of the workshop ""Current Problems in Particle Physics and Cosmology"", held in Ioannina, Greece on June 25-29, 1990. The book focuses on the reactions, problems, methodologies, and processes involved in particle physics and cosmology. The selection first offers information on the search for cosmic axions and experimental limits on light scalars/pseudoscalars and experimental tests of the standard model using the recently collected UA2 data. Topics include limits on the production of light scalar and pseudoscalar particles; measurement of SM parameters; transverse momenta distributions of the W and Z bosons; and mass spectroscopy with jets. The text then takes a look at heavy top quark, fermion mixings, and electroweak multi-particle-production at TeV energies. Discussions focus on third and second generation masses and mixing; neutrino sector; threshold energy; total inelastic multiparticle cross sections; and geometrical flavor interactions at very high energies. The publication examines supersymmetry breaking and dynamical determination of superstring parameters; four-dimensional strings and low energy predictions; and gravity from superstrings. The selection is a vital source of data for readers interested in particle physics and cosmology.
