Book excerpt: From celebrated dietitian Ashley Koff and fitness trainer to the stars Kathy Kaehler comes Mom Energy, an exciting new way for moms to tap into their own natural and renewable sources of energy to overcome fatigue and achieve their personal health goals. Koff and Kaehler have put together a safe, sensible, flexible, and, most importantly, effective program for moms of any age-whether their kids are in diapers or heading off to college. While being a mom is undeniably rewarding, it's also one of the most physically demanding and stressful activities in modern society. In fact, one of the most common complaints from mothers is that they simply don't have the energy to do everything they want, which means they end up sacrificing one thing (usually their own health) to accomplish another. But these sacrifices aren't necessary if you follow some simple guidelines and avoid secret energy saboteurs. With discussions that cover everything from nutrition to fitness to time management, Koff and Kaehler lay out a three-part program (reorganize, rehab, and recharge) that can be molded to any lifestyle to help moms naturally up their energy levels. And with this enhanced energy, they will get all sorts of other unexpected benefits, including a stronger immune system, easier weight loss, and even better relationships. Mom Energy will teach readers what will help and what will hurt in their quest for optimum energy.

Book Mama You Are Enough

Download or read book Mama You Are Enough written by Claire Nicogossian and published by Page Street Publishing. This book was released on 2020-06-30 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An Honest and Revolutionary Guide to the Emotions Moms Feel But Seldom Talk About A few years ago, Dr. Claire Nicogossian began noticing a trend in her therapy room: Mothers are struggling with the challenging and unexpected emotions that surface during their journey through motherhood. In the confines of a safe, judgment-free space, they share about the heavy guilt they carry from losing control and yelling at their children; the crippling fear that they are failing their families; and the exhaustion of juggling work, home, and family. Dr. Claire calls these our shadow emotions. While varying in intensity, our shadow emotions take some form of sadness, anger, fear, embarrassment, or disgust, often a combination. In this breakthrough book, Dr. Claire sheds light on these shadow emotions and provides a path to thriving joy, inner calm, and radiant confidence. Drawing upon her own experiences of raising four children and many years of counseling mothers as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Claire shares practical tips, strategies, and encouragement to help women in all stages of motherhood. By creating new language for the feelings moms experience but seldom talk about—inspired by the groundbreaking work of Carl Jung—this book has the power to create a radical shift in the way we understand and navigate modern motherhood. With Dr. Claire’s guidance, mothers everywhere will discover the deep joy, fulfillment, and inner peace that are already within their reach.

When you enlist in the United States military, you don't just sign up for duty; you also commit your loved ones to lives of service all their own. No one knows this better than Elaine Brye, an "Army brat" turned military wife and the mother of four officers-one each in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. For more than a decade she's endured countless teary goodbyes, empty chairs at Thanksgiving dinners, and sleepless hours waiting for phone calls in the night. She's navigated the complicated tangle of emotions that are part and parcel of life as a military mother. Be Safe, Love Mom braids together Elaine's own personal experiences with those of fellow parents she's met along the way. She offers gentle guidance and hard-earned wisdom on topics ranging from that first anxious goodbye to surrendering all control of your child, from finding comfort in the support of the military community and the healing power of faith to coping with the enormous sacrifices life as a military mother requires. With hard-to-come-by information and encouragement that is like advice from a wise and trusted friend, Be Safe, Love Mom is an essential handbook to membership in a strong and special sisterhood.

Book Discovering the Inner Mother

Download or read book Discovering the Inner Mother written by Bethany Webster and published by HarperCollins. This book was released on 2021-01-05 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sure to become a classic on female empowerment, a groundbreaking exploration of the personal, cultural, and global implications of intergenerational trauma created by patriarchy, how it is passed down from mothers to daughters, and how we can break this destructive cycle. Why do women keep themselves small and quiet? Why do they hold back professionally and personally? What fuels the uncertainty and lack of confidence so many women often feel? In this paradigm-shifting book, leading feminist thinker Bethany Webster identifies the source of women’s trauma. She calls it the Mother Wound—the systemic disenfranchisement of women by the patriarchy—and reveals how this cycle is perpetuated by wounded mothers who unconsciously pass on damaging beliefs and behaviors to their daughters. In her workshops, online courses, and talks, Webster has helped countless women re-examine their lives and their relationships with their mothers, giving them the vocabulary to voice their pain, and encouraging them to share their experiences. In this manifesto and self-help guide, she offers practical tools for identifying the manifestations of the Mother Wound in our daily life and strategies we can use to heal ourselves and prevent our daughters from enduring the same pain. In addition, she offers step-by-step advice on how to reconnect with our inner child, grieve the mother we didn’t have, stop people-pleasing, and, ultimately, transform our heartache and anger into healing and self-love. Revealing how women are affected by the Mother Wound, even if they don’t personally identify as survivors, Discovering the Inner Mother revolutionizes how we view mother-daughter relationships and gives us the inspiration and guidance we need to improve our lives and ultimately create a more equitable society for all.

Book Web Services

    Book Details:
  • Author : Gustavo Alonso
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-03-14
  • ISBN : 3662108763
  • Pages : 369 pages

Download or read book Web Services written by Gustavo Alonso and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Like many other incipient technologies, Web services are still surrounded by a substantial level of noise. This noise results from the always dangerous combination of wishful thinking on the part of research and industry and of a lack of clear understanding of how Web services came to be. On the one hand, multiple contradictory interpretations are created by the many attempts to realign existing technology and strategies with Web services. On the other hand, the emphasis on what could be done with Web services in the future often makes us lose track of what can be really done with Web services today and in the short term. These factors make it extremely difficult to get a coherent picture of what Web services are, what they contribute, and where they will be applied. Alonso and his co-authors deliberately take a step back. Based on their academic and industrial experience with middleware and enterprise application integration systems, they describe the fundamental concepts behind the notion of Web services and present them as the natural evolution of conventional middleware, necessary to meet the challenges of the Web and of B2B application integration. Rather than providing a reference guide or a "how to write your first Web service" kind of book, they discuss the main objectives of Web services, the challenges that must be faced to achieve them, and the opportunities that this novel technology provides. Established, as well as recently proposed, standards and techniques (e.g., WSDL, UDDI, SOAP, WS-Coordination, WS-Transactions, and BPEL), are then examined in the context of this discussion in order to emphasize their scope, benefits, and shortcomings. Thus, the book is ideally suited both for professionals considering the development of application integration solutions and for research and students interesting in understanding and contributing to the evolution of enterprise application technologies.

These are women of virtue and godly character whose faith, patience, sacrifice, and humor forever shaped the sons and daughters now walking in their footsteps. In a culture where Christianity is increasingly marginalized and children are pulled away from faith...in a world that's cold, raw, and harsh...in a society built on high achievement, self-serving goals, and shortsighted pursuits...may God continue to raise up women of faith who will minister the Word of God, love their families, and show us the way home. -Mark L. Book Missing the Mark

Download or read book Missing the Mark written by Keith T. Hoerner and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2014-09-22 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the NEW 2nd edition. The 1st edition ranked 4.8 out of 5 stars while on Amazon for 2 1/2 years. According to reader/reviewer Linda Briggs-Harty, "This is the best treatment of child abuse I've seen... The writing is rich, descriptive, fluent, emotionally imbued but spare and authentic. [The] voice in the book, in particular, moves me beyond words." According to reader/reviewer N.R., "I finally had time tonight and read your new edition. I've read your book three times in the past two years, all at different moments when I needed it. And you know what makes yours different from all the other books about child abuse, alcoholism, and mental illness? It's motivating! Not in the cheesy kind of way where it leaves you a few weeks after you've read it, but in a way where the words always seem to stay with you. And it's funny because each time, I get something new from it. I won't bore you with the details, but I do want you to know that I have been praying for two months for a sign over a personal matter, and you're new edition was definitely it and has helped heal those wounds and address a lot of the uncertainties that came with it. I think its amazing how youre able to influence and touch so many different people all suffering from various issues in less than 200 pages. Its simply incredible!" Back of Cover: The movement in Missing the Mark is a series of vignettes or jump cuts, similar to modern cinematic technique, exemplifying the fact that chaotic stories often have an absence of smooth transition and order. Drawing from the text The Wounded Storyteller, this creative nonfiction witness recounts a dysfunctional upbringing within the structure of what Arthur W. Frank purports as The Chaos Narrative. Author Keith Hoerner writes this piece to reclaim himself, to find his voice from beneath an antagonist who made him mute. Surprisingly, in reshaping the fractured pieces of his so-called life, he also discovers the existence of varied selves along the way (not only the ever-present lover but the admitted hater), which he has too long denied. After forty-nine years, he is now able to recognize love and hate can coexist as counter selves in the human heart. Keith [Hoerner] shows skill, control, and sensitivity to language. Michael Castro, PhD, Author of The Bush Years One of the most unflinchingly honest and beautiful theses Id ever read. Eve Jones, MFA, Author of Bird in the Machine
