An accountant easily falls into a rut bounded by the general ledger on one side and the petty cash book on the other. But a man with a scientific business training, even tho he have no expert advertising or accounting knowledge, may come along and point out one flaw after another in the work of such narrow specialists, simply because he has the broader perspective - he sees at once that the special ist has failed to connect his advertising or his account ing with the broader practical purpose and scope of the business, and that he has omitted to watch the signs of the times.
