Book Moderate and Formal Cohomology Associated with Constructible Sheaves

Download or read book Moderate and Formal Cohomology Associated with Constructible Sheaves written by 柏原正樹 and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On a complex manifold $X$, the authors construct the functors $\cdot \otimes^{\mathrm{w}}\mathcal O_X$ and $Thom (\cdot, \mathcal O_X)$ of formal and moderate cohomology from the category of $\mathbb R$-constructible sheaves to that of $\mathcal D_X$-modules. This construction allows for functorial and unified treatment of $C^{\infty}$ functions, distributions, formal completion, and local algebraic cohomology. The behavior of these functors under the usual operations on $\mathcal D$-modules is systematically studied, and adjunction formulas for correspondences of complex manifolds are obtained. This theory provides a natural tool to treat integral transformations with growth conditions such as Radon, Poisson, and Laplace transforms.

Book Analysis Geometry Number Theory The Mathematics of Leon Ehrenpreis

Download or read book Analysis Geometry Number Theory The Mathematics of Leon Ehrenpreis written by Eric Grinberg and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2000 with total page 524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the proceedings from the conference honoring the work of Leon Ehrenpreis. Professor Ehrenpreis worked in many different areas of mathematics and found connections among all of them. For example, one can find his analytic ideas in the context of number theory, geometric thinking within analysis, transcendental number theory applied to partial differential equations, and more. The conference brought together the communities of mathematicians working in the areas of interest to Professor Ehrenpreis and allowed them to share the research inspired by his work. The collection of articles here presents current research on PDEs, several complex variables, analytic number theory, integral geometry, and tomography. The work of Professor Ehrenpreis has contributed to basic definitions in these areas and has motivated a wealth of research results. This volume offers a survey of the fundamental principles that unified the conference and influenced the mathematics of Leon Ehrenpreis.

Book New Trends in Microlocal Analysis

Download or read book New Trends in Microlocal Analysis written by J.-M. Bony and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microlocal analysis began around 1970 when Mikio Sato, along with coauthors Masaki Kashiwara and Takahiro Kawai, wrote a decisive article on the structure of pseudodifferential equations, thus laying the foundation of D-modules and the singular spectrums of hyperfunctions. The key idea is the analysis of problems on the phase space, i.e., the cotangent bundle of the base space. Microlocal analysis is an active area of mathematical research that has been applied to many fields such as real and complex analysis, representation theory, topology, number theory, and mathematical physics. This volume contains the presentations given at a seminar jointly organized by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and Centre National des Recherches Scientifiques entitled New Trends in Microlocal Analysis. The book is divided into three parts: partial differential equations and mathematical analysis, mathematical physics, and algebraic analysis - D-modules and sheave theory. The large variety of new research that is covered will prove invaluable to students and researchers alike.

Book Boundary Cohomology of Shimura Varieties III

Download or read book Boundary Cohomology of Shimura Varieties III written by Michael Harris and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, the authors complete the verification of the following fact: The nerve spectral sequence for the cohomology of the Borel-Serre boundary of a Shimura variety $\mathrm{Sh}$ is a spectral sequence of mixed Hodge-de Rham structures over the field of definition of its canonical model. To achieve that, they develop the machinery of automorphic vector bundles on mixed Shimura varieties, for the latter enter in the boundary of the toroidal compactifications of $\mathrm{Sh}$; and study the nerve spectral sequence for the automorphic vector bundles and the toroidal boundary. They also extend the technique of averting issues of base-change by taking cohomology with growth conditions. They give and apply formulas for the Hodge gradation of the cohomology of both $\mathrm{Sh}$ and its Borel-Serre boundary.

Book On Mapping Properties of the General Relativistic Constraints Operator in Weighted Function Spaces with Applications

Download or read book On Mapping Properties of the General Relativistic Constraints Operator in Weighted Function Spaces with Applications written by Piotr T. Chruściel and published by . This book was released on 2003 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, the authors prove perturbation and gluing results for solutions of the general relativistic constraints with controlled boundary behavior or asymptotic behavior. This is obtained by a study of the linearized equation in weighted spaces a la Corvino-Schoen. Among other methods, this can be used to prove existence of non-trivial asymptotically simple vacuum space-times. The book is suitable for graduate students and research mathematicians interested in analysis.

Book The B pseudodifferential Calculus on Galois Coverings and a Higher Atiyah Patodi Singer Index Theorem

Download or read book The B pseudodifferential Calculus on Galois Coverings and a Higher Atiyah Patodi Singer Index Theorem written by Eric Leichtnam and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let $\Gamma \rightarrow \tilde M \rightarrow M$ be a Galois covering with boundary. In this book, the authors develop a $b$-pseudodifferential calculus on the noncompact manifold $\tilde M$. The main application is the proof of a higher Atiyah-Patodi-Singer index formula for a generalized Dirac operator $\tilde D$ on $\tilde M$, under the assumption that the group $\Gamma$ is of polynomial growth with respect to a word metric and that the $L^2$-spectrum of the boundary operator $\tilde D_0$ has a gap at zero. Results extend the work of Atiyah-Patodi-Singer, Connes-Moscovici, and Lott.
