This book was released on 2007 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2005 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Purchasing Power Parities and Real Expenditures United States and Canada 2002 to 2009 written by and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Purchasing power parities (PPPs) are estimates of relative purchasing power between two or more currencies. By adjusting to a common currency and a common set of prices, they can be used to make international comparisons of the relative volumes of goods and services invested in or consumed. This report presents PPPs, associated real expenditure and other related statistics for the United States (U.S.) relative to Canada from 2002 to 2009. It serves to update the report published in 2007 and subsequent data releases. The report includes a description of PPPs and why they are important, followed by discussions of the sources and methods and the quality of the data, and a summary of the key changes introduced by this report. Finally, the main findings of the study are presented, including comparisons with previously published data and those from the OECD.--Document.

Book The Theory of Economic Integration Routledge Revivals

Download or read book The Theory of Economic Integration Routledge Revivals written by Bela Balassa and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-05-13 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1962, The Theory of Economic Integration provides an excellent exposition of a complex and far-reaching topic. Professor Balassa has been remarkably successful in covering so much ground with such care and balance, in a treatment which is neither in any way abstruse nor unnecessarily technical. His book will interest economists in Europe by reason of its subject and treatment, but it is also a valuable and reliable textbook for students tackling integration as part of a course of International Economics and for those studying Public Finance. He distinguishes between the various forms of integration (free trade area, customs union, common market, economics union, and total integration). In addition, he applies the theoretical principles to current projects such as the European Common Market and Free Trade Area, and to Latin American integration projects. In offering this theoretical study, the author builds on the conclusions of other writers, but goes beyond this in providing a unifying framework for previous contributions and in exploring questions that in the past received little attention – in particular, the relationship between economic integration and growth (especially the interrelationship between market size and growth, and the implications of various factors for economic growth in an integrated area).

The New Canadian Political Economy suggests important new directions for continued study. Book Immigration Regulation in Federal States

Download or read book Immigration Regulation in Federal States written by Sasha Baglay and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-03-18 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book examines the phenomenon of immigration federalism: its main characteristics, why and how it has developed, its implications for immigration systems (in general) and non-citizens’ rights (in particular). The book introduces the reader to theoretical perspectives on immigration federalism through three sets of literature – federalism, governance and non-citizens’ rights – that provide a necessary framework for understanding immigration federalism’s multiple facets and impacts. It also offers an analysis of immigration federalism through case studies of six jurisdictions: Australia, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, the EU and the US. Despite increased sub-national activity in immigration regulation in several federal states, very little research has been dedicated so far to comparing how federal states deal with immigration federalism. Comparative studies on the human rights implications of immigration federalism have received even less attention. This book seeks to fill the gap in this area and is an important contribution to the field, providing the reader with a better understanding of the complex issues surrounding immigration federalism and its impact on non-citizens.

These include seven ‘old’ EU Member States, two ‘new’ members, a candidate country, and three non-EU countries. Based on a standardised research protocol, thirty-three experts from different legal and social disciplines provide insight through detailed country reports. On this basis, the editors compare organised crime patterns and policies in Europe and assess EU initiatives against organised crime.
