Book Messages from The Risen Savior To The Seven Churches

Download or read book Messages from The Risen Savior To The Seven Churches written by Maria Sandberg and published by Darolt Books. This book was released on 2020-01-27 with total page 53 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Messages From The Risen Savior To The Seven Churches is a message of meditation based on the Bible and written by Maria Sandberg There are some beautiful messages of love sent by Christ to His people on earth, in the second and third chapters of the last book in the Bible, which perhaps you may have overlooked, passing them by as not addressed to you; or, as containing things too difficult for you to understand. You may have been accustomed to look upon the book of Revelation as a difficult Prophetic writing, and therefore you may have missed these wonderful messages of your risen and ascended Savior, and also those glimpses of Heaven which other parts of the book disclose to the reader. But if you will look at the opening verses of the book, you will find that there is a particular blessing promised to those who read this prophecy: "Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near!" Revelation 1:3 I purpose then to tell you something about the beautiful messages sent by your risen Lord to His Churches. But do you understand the meaning of the word Church? It does not mean the building where Christians meet; but it means a company of believers in Jesus, who meet together to pray to Him, and to read His Word. This may be done in a school-room; in a mansion; in a cottage; or in a sick chamber. Wherever two or three are gathered together in Christ's name, there is a Church, and there He has promised to be in the midst of them. What I want you to feel is, that when you meet as we do now, we may consider ourselves as a little Church, over which Jesus presides, and among whom He walks. God does not exclusively dwell in places made with hands, but in the true believer's heart, by His Spirit.

Book Christ s Call to Reform the Church

Download or read book Christ s Call to Reform the Church written by John MacArthur and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2018-10-09 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does the church need to hear today? As many have said, the church must always be reforming. It must continually move closer to a truer, more faithful expression of the gospel. The risen Christ’s powerful letters to the seven churches in Revelation are a guide to just that. Based on John MacArthur’s exposition of these letters, Christ’s Call to Reform the Church is a plea to the modern church to heed these divine warnings, to reform before it succumbs to the kinds of compromise and error that invite God’s judgment. Christ’s Call to Reform the Church admonishes the church today to learn from the mistakes God’s people have made in the past, rather than commit them again. The Word of God has many benefits, one of which is that it reveals our blind spots. That's what this book does—it shines a light on problems we didn't know we had. May it be embraced by Christians everywhere, spurring them toward the God-honoring, grace-driven work of continued reformation.

Book Christ from Beginning to End

Download or read book Christ from Beginning to End written by Trent Hunter and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2018-04-03 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fully grasp how every part of Scripture fits together to point to and reveal the glory of Christ Jesus. From beginning to end, the Bible reveals the glory of Jesus. But for many Bible readers, it doesn't seem that simple. We're often unsure how the Bible's many stories, characters, events relate together and connect to Jesus. Some are tempted to force the pieces of the Bible together, making superficial jumps to him. Others give up trying to understand the Bible altogether. Christ from Beginning to End is written to help Christians understand just how the different stories and parts of Scripture fits together to reveal the glory of Christ Jesus. In Part 1, Wellum and Hunter reintroduce us to the Bible—what it is, how it comes to us, and what it's centrally about. Then, in Part 2, they walk from one side of the Bible's story to the other, carefully tracing its storyline from Genesis to Revelation. As readers see how our triune God's plan unfolds through his covenants, they will be equipped for a lifetime of seeing Christ's glory in Scripture. From this book, you'll learn how to: Read the Bible according to the three biblical contexts: the immediate context, the context of the unfolding story, and the context of the whole story centered in Christ. Recognize how different parts of the Bible connect together as part of a unified story. Embrace the story of the Bible as our own, to live this story out, and to share this story with our neighbors and the nations. You will also see the Bible's multi-layered story and how it is held together by the one plan of God to glorify himself in salvation. You'll come away with a greater awareness of our need as sinners, of the triune God in all of his grace, and of Jesus as the incarnate Son in all of his glory.

Book excerpt: At the heart of the Christian message stands the proclamation of the resurrection: the good news that God raised Jesus from the dead. In Resurrection: The Origin and Goal of the Christian Life, Frank Matera explains why the resurrection was so important to the early church and why it remains important for Christians today. Beginning with the gospels, then moving to the Acts of the Apostles, the Pauline Epistles, and concluding with Hebrews, 1 Peter, 1 John, and the book of Revelation, Matera provides a comprehensive overview of how the different writings of the New Testament proclaimed the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Written in a clear and accessible manner, Matera presents readers with a way to understand the central message of the New Testament and of Christian faith: God raised Jesus from the dead. Building on this message, he shows that the resurrection of Jesus enables and empowers believers to live in the world today and provides them with the assurance that God will raise them from the dead as well.

Book Letters to the Seven Churches of Revelation

Download or read book Letters to the Seven Churches of Revelation written by Gregory Lund and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-10-03 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The letters of Jesus Christ to the seven churches in Revelation were tailored to address the real needs and challenges of specific churches. As we read these letters, we will discover that the needs and challenges those congregations faced are very much like those faced by our local churches today, and that Christ's word to these seven churches are as relevant now as they were then. As we give heed to the message of these letters, we will be challenged to be the church God intended for us to be. These outlined preaching manuscripts were written and delivered by Gregory Lund. The approach is solidly biblical, and the sermons expositional in nature. This book may be used as a commentary, for sermon preparation, or for group or individual Bible study.
