Book MERCEDES BENZ the Modern SL Cars the R107 and C107

Download or read book MERCEDES BENZ the Modern SL Cars the R107 and C107 written by Bernd S. Koehling and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-08-11 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You haven't gotten yourself a R107 yet? Too bad, the good ones can cost a small fortune today and they have only one way to go: UP! But don't worry, plenty of them have been built and plenty of them are still around. Problem is, which one is the right one for you? Can you imagine that even a low mileage, good looking R107 can still far exceed your wildest imaginations, when it comes to restoration costs? Everybody seems to want a late model 560SL. Why not an early 450SL for half the money? The joy and pride of ownership is the same, trust me. Or how about one of the former longtime underdogs, an SLC? Also they start to appreciate, a few of them even very fast, faster than a mint 560SL. If any of this is of interest, then this new book (published already earlier as e-book) is for you. It does not only deal with development and history, it also comes with a comprehensive buyer's guide for both the SL and SLC. This includes a look at their price development over the past years. Another focus has been the VIN and data card, so that you have a better understanding, how they were equipped and to which market they have been shipped first. Superb recent photography from the author's collection can help you to find the right car or it might even serve as reference in a restoration project. Naturally the paint and interior upholstery options, full technical details plus the annual production history of each model are covered. As a bonus, rare insights into the R107's almost unknown rally history are given.FREE BONUS: When you have bought this book, you are eligible for a free pdf file of any Mercedes model (such as W111 or W198 or R107 for example) the author has covered in one of his books. Please contact the author through his website (inside the book) and stipulate, which free pdf file you want him to send to you.

  • ISBN : 1847976964
  • Pages : 308 pages

Download or read book Mercedes W113 written by Myles Kornblatt and published by Crowood. This book was released on 2014-04-30 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1963 the Mercedes W113 replaced two cars: the 300 SL racing legend and the successful 190 SL. In the process, the 230/250/280 SL two-seat coupe/roadster became an icon not only by carving out the perfect niche between its two predecessors, but also by being like no other car on the road. Mercedes W113 - The Complete Story explores both the technical and social side of how this legend was born. The book covers: the W113's predecessors - the 300 SL and the 190 SL; design and development of the 230, 250 and 280 SL models, including the distinctive concave 'Pagoda' roof and the 'Californian Coupe' rear seat option; Bela Barenyi's innovations that made the 230 SL the first 'safety sports car'; rallying successes for the W113; the R107 successor, with specialist advice on 'Pagoda' restorations, and the W113 in popular culture. Superbly illustrated with 249 colour photographs.

Book Mercedes Benz SL SLC 107 Series

Download or read book Mercedes Benz SL SLC 107 Series written by Brian Long and published by Veloce Publishing Ltd. This book was released on 2010-12-15 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It’s hard to believe, but the W113-series Mercedes-Benz SL was launched almost 50 years ago. However, its timeless styling has kept it fresh and attractive in the eyes of a new generation of enthusiasts, as well as those returning to the car having owned one when they were still in dealerships. A combination of superb original design, peerless engineering and build quality simply adds to the desirability of this series of classic German machines, and has ensured that many of these cars can still be seen in regular use today. Covering the SL’s ever-changing specification, competition record, and its presence in many of the world’s major markets is a huge task, but it’s all presented here in definitive detail, along with stunning contemporary photography, in a volume that will readily grace any reference library shelf or connoisseur’s coffee table. An earlier book, also published by Veloce, and covering the 107-series SL and SLC, acts as a perfect companion to this title, taking the SL story up to 1989.

This book was released on 2013-04-19 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 300SL, the 190SL and the pagoda SL were already legends, when still in production. That has not changed till today. Names like "Gullwing" or "Pagoda" are forever associated with the SL name. Both cars are the foundation on which every new SL still rests today. And the SLK traces its roots back to the 190SL, the car that convinced management in the 1950s that the SL story was worth to be developed further. This reference book covers the complete history of all three versions, discusses a one of a kind 300SL roadster and comes with recent non-Daimler AG color photography. If you want to know more about these iconic Mercedes cars, then this book is for you. FREE BONUS: When you have bought this book, you are eligible for a free pdf file of any Mercedes model (such as W108 or W198 or R107 for example) the author has covered in one of his books. Koehling's books about Mercedes cars of the 1950s and 1960s. It was suggested to have them covered in a separate book to accompany the other SL book of Bernd S. Koehling: MERCEDES-BENZ, The modern SL, available also here on Amazon.

Book Mercedes benz the Modern Sl Cars the R230

Download or read book Mercedes benz the Modern Sl Cars the R230 written by Bernd S. Koehling and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-11-10 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you search for a car that can hold its own, when parked next to a Porsche 911 Cabrio, don't look any further. Because the SL R230 is regarded by many as the best looking SL that has left Stuttgart after the famous SL Gullwing. On top it is immense fun to drive, with powerful V8s and V12s to match the looks. Like the drive-train they are almost bullet-proof. Early cars suffered from quality problems that could spoil the fun factor somewhat. But all in all the R230 plays its GT role rather well, even with six-cylinder engines. And the AMG versions are true sports cars. This book with comprehensive buyer's guide can help you to find the right one, if the R230 interests you. It was already published as e-book in 2012 and has been completely revised in Nov.2015. The book explains the VIN and data card in great detail, discusses the SBC, ABC systems and looks at potential problems with the vario-roof. Superb photography and an enjoyable test-drive in the splendid SL65 AMG are other highlights. It ends with a detailed list of the cars' technical specifications and annual production history of each model. FREE BONUS: When you have bought this book, you are eligible for a free pdf file of any Mercedes model (such as W111or W198 or R107 for example) the author has covered in one of his books. Please contact the author through his website (inside the book) and stipulate, which free pdf file you want him to send to you.

Book The New Domestic Automakers in the United States and Canada

Download or read book The New Domestic Automakers in the United States and Canada written by A.J. Jacobs and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 2015-12-16 with total page 521 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past forty years, state/provincial and local governments in the United States and Canada have provided foreign automakers with approximately $4.80 billion in incentives in order to lure light vehicles assembly plants to their areas. This has included tax abatements, infrastructure construction, land giveaways, job training programs, and other subsidies. As of early 2015, ten foreign vehicle makers operated 20 light vehicles in developed North America. Despite the fact that all ten of these automakers have pursued a similar pattern—first exporting vehicles into the United States and Canada before launching vehicle plants in developed North America—each has followed its own specific historical development path and has created its own unique growth trajectory. This book provides a unique historical and qualitative review of these ten vehicle makers, from their early beginnings to their export entry into the United States and/or Canada through early 2015. In addition, it chronicles the histories of more than a dozen former automakers and potential future foreign light motor vehicle assembly plants in the United States and Canada. This includes the first foreign automaker to build its cars in the United States, De Dion-Bouton of France in July 1900, the early 20th Century endeavors of Fiat, Mercedes, and Rolls Royce, and the present day hopes of Chinese and Indian automakers. In the process, the text also provides an assessment of the top competing states and sites for any future plants, the possible incentives packages governments may offer to attract such facilities, and an estimated incentive value for each automaker. Overall, the goal of this book is to expand the knowledge of policymakers at all tiers of government in the United States and Canada and to help them take a more holistic look at the pros and cons of attracting Automobile Manufacturing FDI. It is hoped that this will enable them to make more informed decisions when pursuing a new foreign motor vehicle assembly plant. Its findings should also prove informative to urban and regional planning, political science, sociology, economics, labor, and international development scholars and students in North America and worldwide.
