Book excerpt: Distance measure and similarity measure have been applied to various multi-criteria decision-making environments, like talent selections, fault diagnoses and so on. Some improved distance and similarity measures have been proposed by some researchers. However, hesitancy is reflected in all aspects of life, thus the hesitant information needs to be considered in measures. Then, it can effectively avoid the loss of fuzzy information. However, regarding fuzzy information, it only reflects the subjective factor. Obviously, this is a shortcoming thatwill result in an inaccurate decision conclusion. Thus, based on the definition of a probabilistic neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (PNHFS), as an extended theory of fuzzy set, the basic definition of distance, similarity and entropy measures of PNHFS are established. Next, the interconnection among the distance, similarity and entropy measures are studied. Simultaneously, a novel measure model is established based on the PNHFSs. In addition, the new measure model is compared by some existed measures. Finally, we display their applicability concerning the investment problems, which can be utilized to avoid redundant evaluation processes.
Download or read book Hesitant Fuzzy Set written by Bahram Farhadinia and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-12-04 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Covering a wide range of notions concerning hesitant fuzzy set and its extensions, this book provides a comprehensive reference to the topic. In the case where different sources of vagueness appear simultaneously, the concept of fuzzy set is not able to properly model the uncertainty, imprecise and vague information. In order to overcome such a limitation, different types of fuzzy extension have been introduced so far. Among them, hesitant fuzzy set was first introduced in 2010, and the existing extensions of hesitant fuzzy set have been encountering an increasing interest and attracting more and more attentions up to now. It is not an exaggeration to say that the recent decade has seen the blossoming of a larger set of techniques and theoretical outcomes for hesitant fuzzy set together with its extensions as well as applications. As the research has moved beyond its infancy, and now it is entering a maturing phase with increased numbers and types of extensions, this book aims to give a comprehensive review of such researches. Presenting the review of many and important types of hesitant fuzzy extensions, and including references to a large number of related publications, this book will serve as a useful reference book for researchers in this field.

This book was released on with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neutrosophy as science has inclusive attributes that make possible to extract the contributions of neutral values in the analysis of data sets; it builds a unified field of logic for transdisciplinary studies that transcend the boundaries between natural and social sciences. Neutral philosophy seeks to solve the problems of indeterminacy that appear universally, to reform the current natural or social sciences, with an open methodology to promote innovation. The research products related in this special issue start from the premise that the difficulty is not the complexity of the social environment, but the instrumental obsolescence to observe, interpret and manage that complexity, there are bold approaches and proposals for valid solutions that come to enrich the universe of resolution through the use of neutral methods. In the last year, the use of tools related to neutrosophy and its application to the social sciences, modeling of social phenomena based on simulation agents, problems associated with health, psychology, education, environmental management and sustainability solutions and legal sciences has increased in the events organized by the Asociacion Latinoamericana de Ciencias Neutrosoficas (ALCN in Spanish). The methods of higher incidence are cognitive maps, neutral Iadovs, neutral Delphi, analytical hierarchy process methods, neutral statistics, neutral personality models, among the most significant. In this special issue, there is a predominance of research from Ecuadorian universities, demonstrating how neutrosophy and its methods are consolidated as instruments of analysis, inference and research validation.

Simplified neutrosophic sets and their applications in multi criteria group decision making problems
Download or read book Simplified neutrosophic sets and their applications in multi criteria group decision making problems written by Juan-juan Peng and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a variation of fuzzy sets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets, neutrosophic sets have been developed to represent uncertain, imprecise, incomplete and inconsistent information that exists in the real world. Simplified neutrosophic sets (SNSs) have been proposed for the main purpose of addressing issues with a set of specific numbers. However, there are certain problems regarding the existing operations of SNSs, as well as their aggregation operators and the comparison methods. Therefore, this paper defines the novel operations of simplified neutrosophic numbers (SNNs) and develops a comparison method based on the related research of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. On the basis of these operations and the comparison method, some SNN aggregation operators are proposed. Additionally, an approach for multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) problems is explored by applying these aggregation operators. Finally, an example to illustrate the applicability of the proposed method is provided and a comparison with some other methods is made.
Download or read book Hesitant Bipolar valued Neutrosophic set Formulation Theory and Application written by Azzah Awang and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper proposes a hesitant bipolar-valued neutrosophic set (HBVNS) based on the combination of bipolar neutrosophic sets and hesitant fuzzy sets. The proposed set generalizes the notions of fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set, hesitant fuzzy set, single-valued neutrosophic set, single-valued neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set, bipolar fuzzy set and bipolar neutrosophic set. Further, we define the basic operational laws, union, intersection and complement for hesitant bipolar -valued neutrosophic elements (HBVNEs) and study its associated properties. Some relevant examples are also given to provide a better understanding of the proposed concept. Two aggregation operators are developed based HBVNS which are the hesitant bipolar-valued neutrosophic weighted averaging (HBVNWA) and the hesitant bipolar-valued neutrosophic weighted geometric (HBVNWG). A decision making method is developed based on HBVNS and the proposed HBVNWA and HBVNWG operators. Finally, an illustrative example is given to show the applicability of the proposed decision making method and a comparative analysis with the existing methods is also provided.
Download or read book Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets written by Krassimir T. Atanassov and published by Physica. This book was released on 2013-03-20 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the beginning of 1983, I came across A. Kaufmann's book "Introduction to the theory of fuzzy sets" (Academic Press, New York, 1975). This was my first acquaintance with the fuzzy set theory. Then I tried to introduce a new component (which determines the degree of non-membership) in the definition of these sets and to study the properties of the new objects so defined. I defined ordinary operations as "n", "U", "+" and "." over the new sets, but I had began to look more seriously at them since April 1983, when I defined operators analogous to the modal operators of "necessity" and "possibility". The late George Gargov (7 April 1947 - 9 November 1996) is the "god father" of the sets I introduced - in fact, he has invented the name "intu itionistic fuzzy", motivated by the fact that the law of the excluded middle does not hold for them. Presently, intuitionistic fuzzy sets are an object of intensive research by scholars and scientists from over ten countries. This book is the first attempt for a more comprehensive and complete report on the intuitionistic fuzzy set theory and its more relevant applications in a variety of diverse fields. In this sense, it has also a referential character.
Download or read book Uncertain Multi Attribute Decision Making written by Zeshui Xu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-02-05 with total page 375 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces methods for uncertain multi-attribute decision making including uncertain multi-attribute group decision making and their applications to supply chain management, investment decision making, personnel assessment, redesigning products, maintenance services, military system efficiency evaluation. Multi-attribute decision making, also known as multi-objective decision making with finite alternatives, is an important component of modern decision science. The theory and methods of multi-attribute decision making have been extensively applied in engineering, economics, management and military contexts, such as venture capital project evaluation, facility location, bidding, development ranking of industrial sectors and so on. Over the last few decades, great attention has been paid to research on multi-attribute decision making in uncertain settings, due to the increasing complexity and uncertainty of supposedly objective aspects and the fuzziness of human thought. This book can be used as a reference guide for researchers and practitioners working in e.g. the fields of operations research, information science, management science and engineering. It can also be used as a textbook for postgraduate and senior undergraduate students.

Download or read book Algorithms for single valued neutrosophic decision making based on TOPSIS and clustering methods with new distance measure written by Harish Garg and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 23 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Single-valued neutrosophic set (SVNS) is an important contrivance for directing the decision-making queries with unknown and indeterminant data by employing a degree of “acceptance”, “indeterminacy”, and “non-acceptance” in quantitative terms. Under this set, the objective of this paper is to propose some new distance measures to find discrimination between the SVNSs. The basic axioms of the measures have been highlighted and examined their properties. Furthermore, to examine the relevance of proposed measures, an extended TOPSIS (“technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution”) method is introduced to solve the group decision-making problems. Additionally, a new clustering technique is proposed based on the stated measures to classify the objects. The advantages, comparative analysis as well as superiority analysis is given to shows its influence over existing approaches.
