Book Measurement of the Branching Fraction for B D0 K

Download or read book Measurement of the Branching Fraction for B D0 K written by and published by . This book was released on 2003 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors present a measurement of the branching fraction for the decay B− → D° K{sup *-} using a sample of approximately 86 million B{bar B} pairs collected by the BABAR detector from ee− collisions near the?(4S) resonance. The D° is detected through its decays to K−?+, K−?+?° and K−?+?−?+, and the K{sup *-} through its decay to K{sub S}°?−. They measure the branching fraction to be?(B− → D°K{sup *-}) = (6.3 ± 0.7(stat.)±0.5(syst.)) x 10−4.

Book Measurement of the Ratio of Branching Fractions B D0 K Pi

Download or read book Measurement of the Ratio of Branching Fractions B D0 K Pi written by and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors present a measurement of R{sub B}, the ratio of the branching fraction for the rare decay D° → K?− to that for the Cabibbo-favored decay D° → K−?+. Charge conjugate decays are implicitly included. A signal of 2005 ± 104 events for the decay D° → K+?− is obtained using the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 0.35 fb−1 produced in {bar p}p collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV. Assuming no mixing, they find R{sub B} = [4.05 ± 0.21(stat) ± 0.11(syst)] x 10−3. This measurement is consistent with the world average, and comparable in accuracy with the best measurements from other experiments.

Book excerpt: Using 226 million?(4S) → B{bar B} events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEp-II ee− storage ring at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, they measure the branching fraction for B° → {bar D}°K+?−, excluding B° → D*−K+, to be?(B° → {bar D}°K+?−) = 88 ± 15 ± 9 x 10−6. They observe B° → {bar D}°K*(892)° and B° → D*2(2460)−K+ contributions. The ratio of branching fractions?(B° → D*− K+)/?(B° → D*−?+) = (7.76 ± 0.34 ± 0.29)% is measured separately. The branching fraction for the suppressed mode B° → D°K+?− is?(B° → D°K+?−)

Book Measurement of the Branching Fraction for the Decay B D sup D sup

Download or read book Measurement of the Branching Fraction for the Decay B D sup D sup written by and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Decays of the type B 2!D{sup (*)} {bar D}(*) can be used to provide a measurement of the parameter sin2[beta] of the Unitarity Triangle that is complementary to the measurement derived from the mode B° 2!K{sub S}°. In this document we report a measurement of the branching fraction for the decay B° 2!D*D*− with the BABAR detector. With data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.7 fb−1 collected at the [Upsilon](4S) resonance during 1999-2000, we have reconstructed 38 candidate signal events in the mode B° 2!D*D*− with an estimated background of 6.2 ± 0.5 events. From these events, we determine the branching fraction to be [Beta](B° 2!D*+D*−) = (8.0 ± 1.6(stat) ± 1.2(syst)) x 10−4 (preliminary). The measured fraction of the component with odd CP parity is 0.27± 0.17(stat) ± 0.02(syst).

Book excerpt: The authors report the observation of 823 ± 57 B° and 970 ± 65 B decays to doubly charmed final states {bar D}{sup (*)} D{sup (*)}K, where {bar D}{sup (*)} and D{sup (*)} are fully reconstructed and K is either a K{sup ±} or a K°. This book was released on 2011 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We report the first reconstruction in hadron collisions of the suppressed decays B-2!D(2!K+[pi]- )K- and B-2!D(2!K+[pi]- )[pi]- decays, sensitive to the CKM phase [gamma], using data from 7 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected by the CDF II detector at the Tevatron collider. We reconstruct a signal for the B-2!D(2!K+[pi]- )K- suppressed mode with a significance of 3.2 standard deviations, and measure the ratios of the suppressed to favored branching fractions R(K) = [22.0 " 8.6(stat) " 2.6(syst)] x 10-3, R+(K) = [42.6 " 13.7(stat) " 2.8(syst)] x 10-3, R-(K) = [3.8 " 10.3(stat) " 2.7(syst)] x 10-3 as well as the direct CP-violating asymmetry A(K) = -0.82"0.44(stat)"0.09(syst) of this mode. Corresponding quantities for B- 2!D(2!K+[pi]- )[pi]- decay are also reported.

Book Measurement of the B D D K Branching Fractions

Download or read book Measurement of the B D D K Branching Fractions written by and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors present a measurement of the branching fractions of the 22 decay channels of the B° and B mesons to {bar D}{sup (*)}D{sup (*)}K, where the D{sup (*)} and {bar D}{sup (*)} mesons are fully reconstructed. Summing the 10 neutral modes and the 12 charged modes, the branching fractions are found to be [Beta](B° 2!{bar D}{sup (*)}D{sup (*)}K) = (3.68 ± 0.10 ± 0.24)% and [Beta](B 2!{bar D}{sup (*)}D{sup (*)}K) = (4.05 ± 0.11 ± 0.28)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results are based on 429 fb−1 of data containing 471 x 106 B{bar B} pairs collected at the [Upsilon](4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
