Using the BABAR data recorded in 1999 and 2000 of 20.8 fb[sup -1] on-resonance and 2.6 fb[sup -1] off-resonance, we measure the inclusive branching fractions (B[yields] D[sub s][sup+])= (10.93[+-] 0.19[+-] 0.58[+-] 2.73)% and (B[yields] D*[sub s][sup+])= (7.94[+-] 0.82[+-] 0.72[+-] 1.99)%, where the first error is statistical, the second is the systematic error, and the third is the error due to the D[sub s][sup+][yields][pi][sup+] branching fraction uncertainty. The branching fractions (B[yields] D[sup (*)][sub s][sup+][bar D](*))= (5.07[+-] 0.09[+-] 0.34[+-] 1.27)% and (B[yields] D*[sub s][sup+][bar D](*))= (4.07[+-] 0.42[+-] 0.53[+-] 1.02)% have been determined from the measured D[sup (*)][sub s][sup+] momentum spectra.

Preliminary mass estimates of [2318.9 [+-] 0.3 (stat.) [+-] 0.9 (syst.)] MeV/c[sup 2] and [2459.4 [+-] 0.3 (stat.) [+-] 1.0 (syst.)] MeV/c[sup 2] are obtained. Searches are performed for the decay to the D[sub s][sup +] meson along with one or more [pi][sup 0], [pi][sup +], or [gamma] particles. A search is also performed for neutral and doubly-charged partners.

Book excerpt: The lifetime of the B[sub s][sup 0] meson is measured using the semileptonic decay B[sub s][sup 0][r-arrow] D[sub s][sup[minus]]l[sup[plus]][nu]X. The data sample consists of approximately 110 pb[sup[minus]1] of p[ovr p] collisions at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV collected by the CDF detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. There are 254[plus-minus]21 D[sub s][sup[minus]]l[sup[plus]] signal events where the D[sub s][sup[plus]] is reconstructed through its decay mode D[sub s][sup[minus]][r-arrow][phi][pi][sup[minus]], [phi][r-arrow] K[sup[plus]]K[sup[minus]]. Using these events, the B[sub s][sup 0] meson lifetime is determined to be[tau](B[sub s][sup 0])[equals] 1.37[sup[plus]0.14][sub[minus]0.12](stat.)[plus-minus]0.04(syst.) ps. The B[sub s][sup 0] meson proper decay length distribution has been examined for a lifetime difference between the two CP eigenstates of the B[sub s][sup 0] meson, B[sub s][sup H] and B[sub s][sup L]. 12 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab.

The data sample corresponds to 218 x 10{sup 6} B{bar B} pairs produced in e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilation through the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance. We find the branching fraction (40.2 {+-} 3.9 {+-} 3.9) x 10{sup -6}, where the first error quoted is statistical and the second is systematic. The fitted values of the a{sub 1}(1260) parameters are m{sub a{sub 1}} = 1.22 {+-} 0.02 GeV/c{sup 2} and {Lambda}{sub a{sub 1}} = 0.423 {+-} 0.050 GeV/c{sup 2}.

Using the method of double-tagging, BES performed the first model-independent measurement of BrD[sub s[yields][phi][pi]]. Our result was Br[sub D[sub s][yields][phi][pi]]= 3.4[sub[minus]1.7-0.7][sup+4.8+1.3].

Book excerpt: The time dependence of B[sub d][sup 0]-B[sub d][sup 0] mixing has been measured using a sample of 150,000 hadronic Z[sup 0] decays collected by the SLD experiment at the SLC between 1993 and 1995. The analysis identifies the semileptonic decays of B mesons with high (p, p[sub t]) leptons and reconstructs the B meson decay length and charge by vertexing the lepton with a partially reconstructed D meson. Vertex charge is used to enrich the selection of neutral over charged B mesons. This method results in a sample of 581 neutral decays with high charge purity. The B candidate is tagged at production with a combined tag that exploits the large polarized b forward-backward asymmetry in conjunction with the opposite hemisphere b jet charge. The final state is tagged by the sign of the high (p, p[sub t]) lepton. From their preliminary analysis the authors find a mass difference between the two B[sub d][sup 0] mass eigenstates of, [Delta]m[sub d]= 0.452[+-] 0.074(stat)[+-] 0.049(syst) ps[sup[minus]1].
