Download or read book Maturing Within the Mystery of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior written by William M. (Marc) Semadeni and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2023-05-04 with total page 740 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: GOD IS SUPREME, so far above us, that He must humble Himself to look upon the things that are in the earth, which may be understandable, however, He must also humble Himself before He can even behold the things that are in heaven! Our ultimate end goal is to be able to live in heaven for all of eternity, with the Father and with the Son! This hope of our desired eternal home is the place of our final rest in eternal comfort, joy and peace in His presence for our resurrected and glorified spiritual bodies! The God we worship is far greater than any of us can possibly even imagine! We sing the song “How great thou art,” however, the word “great,” or “awesome,” or any other word, is very much inadequate and far beneath our being able to describe the glory of God, because His glory is inconceivable to the human mind! God is above all, -- far above all! Before all,-- far before all! Encompassing all and possessing all, of everything! God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, all encompassing, all knowing, all powerful and answers all our concerns! He is transcendent, in that He is un-created, has always existed, is eternal and is far above His creation, He is the epitome of all perfection, righteousness, purity, holiness, peace and joy! God is all in all! There is none other like Him, nor will there ever be! The love of God is simply God’s nature!! If we would desire to have fellowship with God, we must do so within the parameters of the nature of God, being “partakers of the Divine Nature,” which is the expression of God’s pure love, which relationship has been promised to us! Jesus Christ went through the exact same things we are going through, on this earth, yet He, through the power of the Holy Spirit, overcame the world and being made perfect, “as a man,” He was fully qualified to die for each one of us, taking our sins upon Himself, paying for those sins, with His blood, fulfilling the law that says “sin must die!” He endured the terrible suffering of the cruel physical pain of the cross and the horrible agony of one being temporarily, spiritually separated from God the Father, when He took our sins upon Himself, for God cannot look upon sin! Christ, unselfishly took all of that horrific terror and pain of our sin, upon Himself, all because of His deep love for each one of us! Christ, our High Priest, is the ultimate and supreme example for us to live our lives by! However, we, within the confines of our earthly minds, are not fully able to attain to His perfection! However, through the blood of Jesus Christ, “if” we have the “boldness” to enter in to the “Holiest,” we may then fully be able to be partakers of God’s Holy Spirit, which will and does lead us into our being able to be conformed to Christ’s image! This personal presence with God, can be attained by our being silent before God, waiting on Him, in humble prayer! Do you have the “faith” and the “boldness” to enter into God’s presence?
Download or read book The Cross written by Iain Hamish Murray and published by Banner of Truth. This book was released on 2008 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The atonement is the centre of the Christian faith and of the work of the gospel ministry. The purpose of gospel preaching is to make known what God has done in the cross of Jesus Christ. The evangel is the preaching of the cross (1 Cor. 1: 18). If this was apostolic Christianity then we must examine ourselves as to whether our emphasis corresponds with it. Is the cross central to the message we preach in our evangelism? But how are we to preach the cross? Does our preaching resemble that of the NT apostles? Does it match the passionate freeness with which the churchs greatest evangelists preached the cross to needy sinners? In this booklet, Iain Murray helps us to think through the message of the cross, to appreciate Gods love and justice in the death of Christ, and to grasp the truth afresh that by Christ crucified the love of God and his willingness to save is to be made known to all people.

Download or read book Signed Sealed Delivered written by Sharon Ely Pearson and published by Church Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: • An all-in-one volume sharing the history, practice, and viewpoints of Confirmation in the Episcopal Church and the first book on the subject for at least 15 years • Resolutions regarding Confirmation are coming to the 2015 General Convention • Includes questions for reflection and study by individuals and groups Many clergy and educators would say that the rite of Confirmation in the Episcopal Church today is a sacrament in search of a meaning. Some believe Confirmation is an essential rite of passage for adult leadership in the governance of the church. Some believe it is a rite that no longer has a place in the life of the church, understanding the importance that Baptism now holds in the 1979 Book of Common Prayer’s ecclesiology. Following a history of how the rite of Confirmation came about and its implications for youth and adults in the church today, voices in the Episcopal Church (bishops, liturgical scholars, confirmation leaders, and youth themselves) offer fresh viewpoints here in a conversational format to engage the reader.
Download or read book Life Essentials Study Bible written by Holman Bible Publishers and published by B&H Publishing Group. This book was released on 2011-10-01 with total page 3138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "So what?" That's the response many people have to the Bible. Read a passage, interpret it, and still they ask, "So, what difference does that make in my life?" In the Life Essentials Study Bible, renowned Bible teacher Gene Getz complements the full text of the popular HCSB translation by elaborating on 1,500 principles in Scripture that are as relevant today as when the sixty- six books of the Bible were written. Distilling these truths into principles, Getz helps the reader more easily remember and effectively apply the Bible's wisdom to everyday life. He explains how each of these principles represents a supracultural truth - one that can and should be applied at any moment in history and in every cultural situation. In addition, the Life Essentials Study Bible was created with an integrated digital study system--more than 250 hours of free online coaching content led by Getz--that fosters a greater understanding of the Bible's grand story. Along the way, Getz adds pertinent questions in print to inspire personal reflection or group discussion of each principle. There's also an introduction to each book of the Bible and its list of corresponding principles, plus a topical index and cross references for all 1,500 principles. Other features of this dynamic study Bible - available in six different editions - include a two-piece gift box (leather editions only) as well as a presentation page. "Owning a copy of this astounding project containing the prodigious work and wisdom of my friend and mentor Gene Getz will be like having him in the next room -- available to advise me on every passage. Being able to access his video teaching on each of the 1,500 ‘Principles to Live By’ is a breakthrough approach, making this truly the first multi-media study Bible. What a treasure! I know it will inform my own writing." Jerry Jenkins, owner, Christian Writer's Guild, and author of the Left Behind series
Download or read book Growing in Discipleship written by Rev. Daniel Dapaah and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-08-19 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The primary responsibility of the church, its raison d'etre, is to make disciples by sharing the "good news" of salvation and teaching believers to grow in maturity in Christ (Matt 28:16-20; 1 Cor 3:2-3; 14:20). What does it mean to grow in discipleship and maturity in Christ? What are the required ingredients for such growth and maturity to occur? Answers to both questions are provided in the book you're about to read. Growing in Discipleship is wide-ranging in scope, from biblical studies to systematic theology, focusing on a sample of fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. The book is written for both new and old believers who are seeking a deeper engagement with and understanding of the good news of salvation in Christ. Daniel Dapaah has broken down the complex theological concepts to present them in a concise and accessible format to readers who have no background in biblical studies. Beginning seminarians will also find this book useful. But true discipleship is more than an intellectual assent to the doctrines of the church. It is also a personal commitment to the life and teachings of Christ. It involves growing spiritually to reflect the image of Christ (Latin, Imago Dei). The book includes an "Individual or Group Exercise" guide at the end of each chapter, focusing on sample questions from the study, a "Personal Application" for reflection, and a "Commitment" to grow and mature in Christ through the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. This book is a useful resource for individual and group Bible study.
