Book Mathematical Models of Human Pilot Behavior

Download or read book Mathematical Models of Human Pilot Behavior written by Duane T. McRuer and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 430 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The use of mathematical models of the human pilot in analyses of the pilot/vehicle system has brought a new dimension to the engineering treatment of flying qualities, stability and control, pilot/vehicle integration, and display system considerations. As an introduction to such models, elementary concepts and specific physical examples are used to set the stage for a step-by-step development of what is known about the human pilot as a dynamic control component. In the process, quasi-linear models for single-loop systems with visual stimuli and multiloop systems with visual stimuli are presented and then extended to cover multiloop, multi-modality situtations. Empirical connections between the pilot dynamics and pilot ratings are also considered. Some of the most important nonlinear features of human pilot behavior in adapting to changes in the character of the stimuli are described and tied to the quasi-linear models.

Book Mathematical Modelling in Engineering Human Behaviour 2018

Download or read book Mathematical Modelling in Engineering Human Behaviour 2018 written by Lucas Jódar and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2019-04-15 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book includes papers in cross-disciplinary applications of mathematical modelling: from medicine to linguistics, social problems, and more. Based on cutting-edge research, each chapter is focused on a different problem of modelling human behaviour or engineering problems at different levels. The reader would find this book to be a useful reference in identifying problems of interest in social, medicine and engineering sciences, and in developing mathematical models that could be used to successfully predict behaviours and obtain practical information for specialised practitioners. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the new developments of applied mathematics in connection with epidemics, medical modelling, social issues, random differential equations and numerical methods.

Book Quantitative Modeling of Human Performance in Complex Dynamic Systems

Download or read book Quantitative Modeling of Human Performance in Complex Dynamic Systems written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 1990-01-01 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes and evaluates existing models of human performance and their use in the design and evaluation of new human-technology systems. Its primary focus is on the modeling of system operators who perform supervisory and manual control tasks. After an introduction on human performance modeling, the book describes information processing, control theory, task network, and knowledge-based models. It explains models of human performance in aircraft operations, nuclear power plant control, maintenance, and the supervisory control of process control systems, such as oil refineries. The book concludes with a discussion of model parameterization and validation and recommends a number of lines of research needed to strengthen model development and application.

Book Approaches to the Study of Motor Control and Learning

Download or read book Approaches to the Study of Motor Control and Learning written by J.J. Summers and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1991-12-18 with total page 615 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the past two decades, there has been a dramatic increasein interest in the study of motor control and learning. In thisvolume authors from a variety of backgrounds and theoreticalperspectives review their research with particular emphasis onthe methods and paradigms employed, and the future direction oftheir work. The book is divided into four main sections. Thefirst section contains chapters examining general issues andtrends in the movement behaviour field. The remaining threesections contain chapters from scientists working in threebroadly defined areas of interest: coordination and control;visuo-motor processes; and movement disorders. Each sectionprovides an overview of the different approaches and differentlevels of analysis being used to examine specific topics withinthe motor domain.
