Hartmann has cured by means of Calomel a case of ulcerated putrid quinsy, in a child of eight years, who had become attacked with febrile rheumatic symptoms, and afterwards complained of a scratching-burning sensation in the throat during deglutition; an offensive smell came out of the mouth which became more putrid in proportion as one approached thechild's mouth. The inner mouth and fauces exhibited a quantity of small, round, deep, livid-looking ulcers, descending down to the larynx, which might be inferred from the child talking with a hoarse voice. The first trituration of Calomel, one grain every four hours, afforded help.
