This book addresses the perennial need for Masons to have a straightforward and reliable guide to etiquette, written by a leading Mason.

Book Masonic Etiquette In the New Millennium

Download or read book Masonic Etiquette In the New Millennium written by Eugene Matzota and published by Masonica.es. This book was released on 2015-11-30 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a few words, Masonic Etiquette is a code of recommended rules and suggestions; however, we have to understand that these rules and suggestions are not laws, such as the Grand Lodges regulations, or Edicts of the Grand Master. It is good to apply Masonic Etiquette in the Masonic life, maybe much more in the profane one, in order to honor the Order, because the Mason, especially outside the Lodge, is the mirror of the Masonic Fraternity. __________________________________ Freemasonry is a mirror of the society itself, because its members obviously are part of society, so it cannot escape the influence of secular life other than through education. All manifestations of disrespect, of over-turning the values, manifestations that unfortunately tend to encompass all aspects of our culture today, can be tackled only through a process of return to the es-tablished society values through education. Masonic Brotherhood is the oldest of fraternities that exist in the world at this time. One of the features that differentiated it is tradition, submitted both in writing and orally. Masonic Etiquette is one of the most im-portant aspects of tradition." Eugene Matzota

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the author of these Masonic Etiquette books: Masonic Etiquette Code - 2013 Masonic Etiquette in the new Millennium - 2015 If you want to act like a true Mason, this book is for you! This book goes beyond the Ritual. Of course, the author offers us his latest decades of experience, placing special emphasis on the influence of these wonderful new technologies that make the world a sort of a friendly bigger village. The focus is on communication, of course, but especially on what is called Social Media. This book is based on the study of the Masonic Conduct Codes of the Regular Grand Lodges in the world, especially those of the Board of General Purposes to the Grand Lodge of England, on many Masonic books, on those few Masonic Etiquette books, on printed and online articles. We have already entered a new millennium and somehow escaped the end of the world. Apparently, it seems that Freemasonry tend to remain the same. Or maybe not? I used the word "apparently," because, first of all, we can see clearly that today's Freemasonry seems to have a much greater openness to non-Masons than ever had. Who would have imagined that we can see this serious and sober organization that is Freemasonry running advertising campaigns? No matter how good the campaigns are, however elegant and discreet they are, they are nothing else than advertising campaigns, in the end... Now, this seems to be already quite naturally a part of the present-day landscape, and, on the other hand, it could be difficult to explain to a non-Mason why, if we go through the idea that Freemasonry would never proselytize. Or, perhaps even more exciting, is the subject of the "Sisters," those women who are part of the Grand Lodges designed exclusively for themselves. We are talking here about feminine Grand Lodges, but also about the mixed ones, those including both women and men. Something new would always appear, but we must act even today in the spirit of those who laid the foundations of Freemasonry. A code of rules published some three centuries ago, when there was no train, neither mobile phones, nor the Internet, could it be still valid? I do not know if anyone can say frankly: 'Yes, this code is enough, it does not have to be altered even though the world has changed radically since 1723.' I have concluded that some code updates could be made, but not too many, because Freemasonry does not change as society does it more and more often. That's why we think there is a need for a new code, an adaptation of that 300-year-old one, a code that takes into account the immense quantity of changes brought about by technology, smartphones, social media etc. We would have liked to be just the changes in technology, but it's not like that, unfortunately. Extremely easy access to the Internet, with all the pitfalls of socialization, has allowed anyone to climb a rostrum and say from there, from above, whatever, all the nonsense that can pass through the head of someone who has nothing to say, in fact. This is not a book to tell you: - Do so! - Do not do that! Just remember, when needed, that there are 256 shades of gray from white to black... Everything is about knowing and understanding a code of good manners that you can adopt in almost any situation in your life. Therefore, besides the Ritual, besides what the Entered Apprentice learns from the very beginning, he has a real and urgent need to have these teachings at his fingertips, not only in the Temple, but in his everyday life, to act as a true Mason.
