Download or read book Moms Powerful Magnificent Endurance written by Edward Williams and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-06-06 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This a story of a typical American family. Michael Wilson is the head of the family. He stands six feet tall and is forty years old. He is a self-made millionaire and owner of a steel company. His wife, Mary, is a beautiful thirty-eight-year-old blonde. Yes, and she has an enchanting smile. Her smile was the first thing that Michael noticed about Mary, which drew him to eventually marry her. Michael and Mary have two sons: Daniel, nineteen years old, and Jimmy, seventeen years old. And there is Marys mother, Anna, and Michaels mother, Sue. And oh yes, Pal, the small dog. The story basically centers on Mary. She experienced two fatal accidents where she miraculously escaped and lived to tell about both of them. The first occurred when she was driving her convertible car on a highway and a deer suddenly ran in front of the car and caused Mary to lose control, ran off the road, and crashed on a large road. She was thrown out of the convertible car into a grassy area. Her head hit against a large rock, and she was knocked out. On the other hand, the car went over a cliff, down into a deep canyon, and crashed onto a road, and it caught fire. So it was thought that Mary died in the burned car. When Mary regained consciousness, she only had a sore head. She struggled to her feet and grabbed her head. Her head was sore, otherwise, she was all right. She struggled to her feet and looked around. She was confused. She did not know who or where she was. She suffered amnesia. Mary was thought to be dead. She was away from her husband and family for four years. Her next accident was when the airplane she was on crashed in which she and her four-year-old son were the sole survivors of the crash. How did she happen to have a four-year-old son? Well, when she had her first accident, she was three months pregnant. Mary eventually regained her memory. In the plane crash, she was knocked out. When she awakened, she remembered everything. So eventually, she returned home, just to find out that on the same day that she returned, her husband was to remarry another woman. Will she get to the wedding soon enough to stop it?

Download or read book Maybe Baby On the Mother Side written by Kate Lawler and published by Seven Dials. This book was released on 2022-03-24 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The honest, entertaining and brilliantly relatable Sunday Times bestseller. Kate Lawler has never been maternal. And yet here she is: mother to Noa, after years of going back and forth about having children at all. This is the story of her journey from parentally undecided to early motherhood, via raging hormones, sleepless nights, emergency hospital trips, mum guilt, unspoken regrets and post-natal depression. This book is not a parenting manual. It won't tell you what to pack in your hospital bag, or how to get your baby to sleep. It may not help you with feeding or dealing with tantrums. But it will show you that you're not alone - and that it's perfectly possible, and maybe even normal, to love your child with all of your heart while also feeling lost, alone and resentful. Whether you're an expectant parent, a new parent, firmly in the thick of it, or still parentally undecided, this book is for you, as Kate writes honestly and hilariously about the ups and downs of pregnancy, birth and early parenting, as well as the impact of a new baby on relationships, your sense of self and everything in between. It's a book that, with Kate's usual candour and wit, will help mums and dads everywhere feel seen - and completely understood. 'Wow what a read! I love it. Kate's honest, open, funny account of motherhood with all its highs and lows is a breath of fresh air and relatable for so many.' Gemma Atkinson 'Honest, brave and relatable mixed with humour. Kate, you've nailed it. Whether you are an expectant parent or simply not sure, Maybe Baby will give you tears and laughter - both in equal measures!' Frankie Bridge 'Maybe Baby is beautifully honest, open and brilliant. Full of humorous anecdotes, Kate has written a book for the EVERY-woman - those wanting children, those not, and those who are indecisively on the fence about the whole thing. Kate sharing her experiences, especially with PND, will help open up important conversations and support so many going through a similar situation.' Giovanna Fletcher 'This isn't just another mum book. Raw, honest, brutally funny, Kate has nailed the highs, lows, peaks and troughs of this rollercoaster of a parental ride.' Anna Whitehouse
Download or read book This Year It Will Be Different written by Maeve Binchy and published by Dell. This book was released on 2007-09-04 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the New York Times bestselling author of Circle of Friends and The Glass Lake comes This Year It Will Be Different, a stunning new work that brings us the magic and spirit of Christmas in fifteen stories filled with Maeve Binchy's trademark wit, charm, and sheer storytelling genius. Instead of nostalgia, Binchy evokes contemporary life; instead of Christmas homilies, she offers truth; and instead of sugarplums, she brings us the nourishment of holidays that precipitate change, growth, and new beginnings. In "A Typical Irish Christmas," a grieving New York widower heads for a holiday in Ireland and finds an unexpected destination not just for himself, but for a father and daughter at odds. The title story "This Year It Will Be Different" also delves into the emotions of a person at mid-life--a woman with a complacent husband and grown children who are entering a season that can forever alter her life, and theirs. In "Pulling Together," a teacher not yet out of her twenties sees her affair with a married man at a turning point as Christmas Eve approaches--and she may be off on a new direction with some unusual friends. And in the delightful tale "The Hard Core," the four most recalcitrant residents of a nursing home are left alone at Christmas with the owner's daughter in charge: the result is sure to be disaster--or the kind of life-affirming renewal that only the spirit of the season can bring. The stories in This Year It Will Be Different powerfully evoke many lives--step-families grappling with ex's, long-married couples faced with in-law problems, a wandering husband choosing between "the other woman" and his wife, a child caught in grown-up tugs-of-war--during the one holiday when feelings cannot be easily hidden. The time of year may be magical, imbued with meaning. But the situations are universal. And Maeve Binchy makes us care about them all. As the Philadelphia Inquirer noted, "Maeve Binchy's people come to life fully. They make you laugh and cry and disturb your sleep." They do precisely that in this extraordinary collection, on the night before Christmas when we are snug in our beds, or anywhere, any time of the year.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just when things were going so well. Jess had the perfect summer planned: She and Fred, lounging in the park, gazing into one another’s eyes and engaging in witty repartee. It was going to be so romantic. And then her maddening mum stepped in: She suddenly announced a two-week “road trip” to Cornwall to visit Jess’s dad, something Jess might have enjoyed, actually, were it not for the monstrously bad timing. Not only will this force Jess and Fred apart for two whole weeks, it will also leave the darling and handsome Fred in the clutches of Jess’s blindingly beautiful best friend, Flora—who, you might recall, expressed an interest in Fred not too long ago. As if all this weren’t enough, Jess’s mum seems to expect her to weep at the grave of every departed literary hero in Britain’s long history. It’s absolute torture. And little does Jess know, a huge surprise awaits her when she visits her dad at his home for the first time in years.
