Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First of all, this is not a self-help book. This a journey to discovering the true beauty that each of us has resonating on the inside. Getting married, having children, pursuing a career, and not knowing our true identity is a train wreck waiting to happen. I have lived on a continuous merry-go-round. The merry-go-round starts out slow paced; then, it increases speed, and finally, one day you realize that you cannot control the speed (not that you were ever in control anyway). As a woman, we go through life carrying pain from place to place, never really getting the healing that we need. Yes, there is some surface healing, but it crumbles when we find ourselves back in a position of vulnerability. We go through life taking pictures based on our pain, our experiences. These pictures that we take, we place them in frames and hang on our walls. Some of these pictures we allow others to see and some of them we keep hidden in the background. We look up one day and realize that all the pictures that we have taken have created the person that we are currently. Not all our pictures are painful; there are some great pictures that each of us has taken. My prayer is that the good pictures, the pictures that make us smile and give us warm, cozy feelings, outnumber the pictures that cause us to hold our heads down in shame, guilt, and regret. Let us lift our heads. We are more than our past and our experiences! God has great plans for us, and He will finish what He has started!

Book My So Called Life as a Proverbs 31 Wife

Download or read book My So Called Life as a Proverbs 31 Wife written by Sara Horn and published by Harvest House Publishers. This book was released on 2011-09-01 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Author Sara Horn always admired the Proverbs 31 wife, but when she became a busy writer and mother, she deemed this model to be dated and impossible. Or is it? Join Sara as she heads into a one-year domestic experiment and offers full access to see if this biblical model can be embraced by a modern woman—even one who can’t sew. With humility and humor, Sara sets out to pursue the Proverbs 31 characteristics through immersing herself in all things domestic, but when her family's situation changes and she must return to a full-time job, she's forced to look at the Proverbs 31 woman with a whole new viewpoint. Through it all, she and readers discover: what it means to be a godly woman and a wife how investing in family and faith refines priorities as a spouse and a parent how mistakes are opportunities for growth This thought-provoking, surprising, and entertaining personal account will inspire women to try their own experiments in living out God’s purpose for their lives.

Book And These Signs Will Follow

Download or read book And These Signs Will Follow written by Rich Coyle and published by WestBowPress. This book was released on 2014-01-31 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The sheer number of miraculous interventions recounted in this book may tempt readers to assume that Mr. Rich Coyle made up these stories to bring glory to himself as a paragon of virtue and faith. Having known Mr. Coyle for more than twenty years, I can personally vouch for his honesty, integrity and genuine humility. I have no problem at all believing the miracles recounted in this volume for I know the faith of the man who experienced them and I know the power of Jesus Christ whom he serves. I do not believe it is possible to read this book without being inspired to grow in faith and believe God to manifest His supernatural power in our lives. Mr. Coyle has received from the mighty hand of God so many times because he simply believes Gods word is true. His faith is perhaps best summed up in this single verse of scripture: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Dr. Thomas J. Kindell, ThD, PhD, founder and president of Reasons for Faith Ministries, Inc. This is put together so well, its like someone else did it! Sue Coyle, wife of the author

  • Pages : 616 pages

Book excerpt: The history and lore of the United States Marine Corps are likely unmatched. Steeped in the rich history and tradition of the Corps since its founding in 1775, this book focuses on more recent history, specifically the author’s experiences as a young Marine in the 1960s, including his tour of duty in Vietnam. It also includes biographical profiles of more than 100 other Marines who fought in Vietnam or other conflicts. Most of those profiled are Marines with whom the author served or has come to know since his active military service. The 30th Marine Commandant, General Carl Mundy, has written: “Few who have borne the title [United States Marine] fail to identify with it throughout their entire lives.” Marines are, as Shakespeare has written, “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.” And brothers are members of a family. This family is “The few. The proud. The Marines.”
