Book Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings

Download or read book Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings written by Charles H. Hapgood and published by Adventures Unlimited Press. This book was released on 1966 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hapgood utilizes ancient maps as concrete evidence of an advanced worldwide civilization existing many thousands of years before ancient Egypt. Hapgood concluded that these ancient mapmakers were in some ways much more advanced in mapmaking than any people prior to the 18th century. Hapgood believes that they mapped all the continents. This would mean that the Americas were mapped thousands of years before Columbus. Antarctica would have been mapped when its coasts were free of ice. Hapgood supposes that there is evidence that these people must have lived when the Ice Age had not yet ended in the Northern Hemisphere and when Alaska was still connected with Siberia by the Pleistocene, Ice Age 'land bridge'.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most beautiful maps to survive the Great Age of Discoveries, the 1513 world map drawn by Ottoman admiral Piri Reis is also one of the most mysterious. Gregory McIntosh has uncovered new evidence in the map that shows it to be among the most important ever made. This detailed study offers new commentary and explication of a major milestone in cartography. Correcting earlier work of Paul Kahle and pointing out the traps that have caught subsequent scholars, McIntosh disproves the dubious conclusion that the Reis map embodied Columbus's Third Voyage map of 1498, showing that it draws instead on the Second Voyage of 1493-1496. He also refutes the popular misinterpretation that Reis's depictions of Antarctica are evidence of either ancient civilizations or extraterrestrial visitation. McIntosh brings together all that has been previously known about the map and also assembles for the first time the translations of all inscriptions on the map and analyzes all place-names given for New World and Atlantic islands. His work clarifies long-standing mysteries and opens up new ways of looking at the history of exploration.

Book Mystery in Acambaro

Download or read book Mystery in Acambaro written by Charles H. Hapgood and published by Adventures Unlimited Press. This book was released on 1999-12 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Acambaro collection comprises hundreds of clay figurines that are apparently thousands of years old; however, they depict such bizarre animals and scenes that most archaeologists dismiss them as an elaborate hoax. The collection shows humans interacting with dinosaurs and various other 'monsters' such as horned men. Both Hapgood and Earl Stanley Gardner were convinced that the figurines from Acambaro were authentic ancient artifacts that indicated that men and dinosaurs had cohabited together in the recent past, and that dinosaurs had not become extinct many millions of years ago as commonly thought. David Hatcher Childress writes a lengthy introduction concerning Acambaro, the latest testing, and other evidence of 'living' dinosaurs.

Book Fingerprints of the Gods

Book excerpt: Could the story of mankind be far older than we have previously believed? Using tools as varied as archaeo-astronomy, geology, and computer analysis of ancient myths, Graham Hancock presents a compelling case to suggest that it is. Graham Hancock is featured in Ancient Apocalypse, a Netflix original docuseries. “A fancy piece of historical sleuthing . . . intriguing and entertaining and sturdy enough to give a long pause for thought.”—Kirkus Reviews In Fingerprints of the Gods, Hancock embarks on a worldwide quest to put together all the pieces of the vast and fascinating jigsaw of mankind’s hidden past. In ancient monuments as far apart as Egypt’s Great Sphinx, the strange Andean ruins of Tihuanaco, and Mexico’s awe-inspiring Temples of the Sun and Moon, he reveals not only the clear fingerprints of an as-yet-unidentified civilization of remote antiquity, but also startling evidence of its vast sophistication, technological advancement, and evolved scientific knowledge. A record-breaking number one bestseller in Britain, Fingerprints of the Gods contains the makings of an intellectual revolution, a dramatic and irreversible change in the way that we understand our past—and so our future. And Fingerprints of God tells us something more. As we recover the truth about prehistory, and discover the real meaning of ancient myths and monuments, it becomes apparent that a warning has been handed down to us, a warning of terrible cataclysm that afflicts the Earth in great cycles at irregular intervals of time—a cataclysm that may be about to recur. “Readers will hugely enjoy their quest in these pages of inspired storytelling.”—The Times (UK)

Book Sea Monsters on Medieval and Renaissance Maps

Download or read book Sea Monsters on Medieval and Renaissance Maps written by Chet Van Duzer and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The sea monsters on medieval and Renaissance maps, whether swimming vigorously, gamboling amid the waves, attacking ships, or simply displaying themselves for our appreciation, are one of the most visually engaging elements on these maps, and yet they have never been carefully studied. The subject is important not only in the history of cartography, art, and zoological illustration, but also in the history of the geography of the "marvelous" and of western conceptions of the ocean. Moreover, the sea monsters depicted on maps can supply important insights into the sources, influences, and methods of the cartographers who drew or painted them. In this highly-illustrated book the author analyzes the most important examples of sea monsters on medieval and Renaissance maps produced in Europe, beginning with the earliest mappaemundi on which they appear in the 10th century and continuing to the end of the 16th century.

Book Atlantis beneath the Ice

Download or read book Atlantis beneath the Ice written by Rand Flem-Ath and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2012-02-10 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific and mythological evidence that Antarctica was once Atlantis • Reveals how the earth’s crust shifted in 9600 BCE, dragging Atlantis into the polar zone beneath miles of Antarctic ice • Examines ancient yet highly accurate maps, including the Piri Reis map of 1513, which reveals a pre-glacial Antarctica • Shows how myths of floods and disaster from around the world all point to a common source In this completely revised and expanded edition of When the Sky Fell, Rand and Rose Flem-Ath show that 12,000 years ago vast areas of Antarctica were free from ice and home to the kingdom of Atlantis, a proposition that also elegantly solves the mysteries of ice ages and mass extinctions, the simultaneous worldwide rise of agriculture, and the source of devastating prehistoric climate change. Expanding upon Charles Hapgood’s theory of earth crust displacement, which was championed by Albert Einstein, they examine ancient yet highly accurate world maps, including the Piri Reis map of 1513, and show how the earth’s crust shifted in 9600 BCE, dragging Atlantis into the polar zone where it now lies beneath miles of Antarctic ice. From the Cherokee, Haida, and Okanagan of North America to the earliest records of Egypt, Iran, Mexico, and Japan, they reveal that ancient myths of floods, lost island paradises, and visits from advanced godlike peoples from all corners of the globe all point to the same worldwide catastrophe that resulted in Atlantis’s demise. The authors explain how the remaining Atlanteans, amid massive earthquakes and epic floods, evacuated and spread throughout the world, resulting in the birth of the first known civilizations. Including rare material from the archives of Charles Hapgood, Albert Einstein, and Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Flem-Aths explain how an earth crust displacement could happen again in the future, perhaps in correspondence with high solar activity. With new scientific, genetic, and linguistic evidence in support of Antarctica as the location of long-lost Atlantis, this updated edition convincingly shows that Atlantis was not swallowed by the sea but was entombed beneath miles of polar ice.

Book Before Atlantis

  • Author : Mark Carlotto

  • Release : 2018-10-03
  • ISBN : 9781723535598
  • Pages : 128 pages

Download or read book Before Atlantis written by Mark Carlotto and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if ancient sites such as Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, the Acropolis, and Temple Mount are not only thousands of years old but much older? Until recently, a lack of hard evidence has led mainstream archaeologists to dismiss theories of past civilizations as pseudoscientific attempts to resurrect ancient myths and legends. However, new archaeological discoveries are beginning to challenge conventional explanations. Inspired by Charles Hapgood's hypothesis that the ice ages were the result of shifts in the geographic location of Earth's poles, independent researcher and author Mark Carlotto has discovered that numerous sites throughout the world are aligned to what appear to have been four previous positions of the North Pole over the past 100,000 years. By virtue of their alignment to ancient poles Carlotto proposes a new hypothesis: that the original sites were first established by a previous advanced technological civilization that existed throughout the world tens of thousands of years ago and were later co-opted by our ancestors who rebuilt and expanded over and around the older structures while preserving the layout and orientation of the site to the original pole. Before Atlantis considers the possibility that this previous technological civilization could have developed from an earlier migration of modern humans out of Africa, which later might have co-existed with our primitive hunter-gatherer ancestors, and that past encounters with this older civilization were the source of ancient myths and legends of powerful gods, lost continents, and even Atlantis. Mark Carlotto is an aerospace engineer with over thirty years of experience in satellite imaging, remote sensing, signal and image processing, pattern recognition, and app development. Carlotto received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1981 and has published over one hundred technical articles and written six books. In Before Atlantis, Carlotto draws from his unique background and experience to propose new answers to basic questions concerning human origins, ancient technology, and archaeological enigmas.

Book The God Within

    Book Details:
  • Author : Elwood Babbitt
  • Publisher : Light Technology Publishing
  • Release : 1982-01-01
  • ISBN : 1622337034
  • Pages : 338 pages

Download or read book The God Within written by Elwood Babbitt and published by Light Technology Publishing. This book was released on 1982-01-01 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Handbook for Spiritual Growth In 1970 Charles Hapgood asked Elwood Babbitt, a full trance medium, to contact the Hindu deity, Vishnu. At that time he believed that Vishnu was one of the Hindu Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Siva, which corresponded in ancient philosophy to the earth's seasons of Spring, Summer and Fall. When this request was made of Elwood Babbitt's chief assistant in spirit, Dr. Frederick Fischer, Fischer said Hapgood was asking for the All-In-All. Hapgood found, on investigation, that the highest thought of India was indeed monotheistic, that Vishnu was accepted as the One, the Universal Spirit, of which Brahma and Siva were aspects. Fischer said that bringing in the total Force of the universe to express through the body of a medium had never been done before, but he thought it could be done, and he accomplished it, but not without mortal danger to the medium. Exposed to too great an energy Babbitt became very ill and for several weeks it seemed he was unlikely to survive. Fischer, however, managed to moderate the vibrational force so that the transmissions could continue. Hapgood interrogated Vishnu, attempting to cover as wide an area as possible to answer questions in the minds of people. Tape recordings were made and these will be available to the public in due course. After the recordings were transcribed Hapgood edited the texts to clarify any expressions that were confused owing to minor distortions of language because of distortions of the vibrations coming through Babbitt's brain. The result is a comprehensive and clear work, avoiding technicalities of philosophy or dogma, and concentrating on the problem of assisting all those who wish to devote themselves to the path of spiritual growth.

Book Voices of Spirit

Download or read book Voices of Spirit written by Elwood Babbitt and published by Light Technology Publishing. This book was released on 1992-05-02 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Voices of Spirit Charles Hapgood discusses fifteen years of work with Elwood Babbitt. He relates the phenomenon of trance mediums to recent research in parapsychology and examines Babbitt's mediumship in depth. Two long chapters devoted to the "mechanics of spirit communication," including the role of "controls" (spirits closer to the earthly plane who guide the medium) and a careful description of how images and spirit voices enter Babbitt's mind, will fascinate both the curious skeptic and the believer. Full-length transcripts of communications which have come through trances are included in this volume.
