Nel Manuale si definisce e si affronta tale insieme di operazioni non neutre, ancora inedite nel panorama pedagogico italiano, ma esplorate e precisate in più di sessant'anni di riflessione soprattutto in paesi anglosassoni; se ne discutono i risvolti teorici ed etici e se ne presentano degli esempi tratti dall'attuale dibattito nazionale e internazionale, grazie a contributi originali di esperti.
