Book Manna Stories Journeys Toward the Heart of Jesus Christ

Download or read book Manna Stories Journeys Toward the Heart of Jesus Christ written by B. Z. Eliphaz and published by . This book was released on 2014-12-25 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study edition is specially designed to help persons in prison prepare for freedom and get parole. It is based on the short-story collection Manna Stories. These are old stories about lives made new. A man whose young son tragically suffers. A woman under the death penalty for a crime she didn't commit. A hard-luck lawyer. A woman facing death for adultery. A rich young man who can't sleep for worrying. A man healed long ago, who must now give his testimony to the Roman general who has shattered Jerusalem. These stories are based on the New Testament Gospels. They reverently imagine the lives of people we meet briefly in the Gospels, before and after these people met Jesus. They imagine that meeting with Jesus in more detail. This study-edition is designed for use by persons in prisons. Each of the twelve stories has study-questions. The book also contains a glossary and an appendix of passages from the New Testament that the stories are composed from. There are two essays in this edition that the regular edition does not have. One is an essay intended to make essay-writing easier. The other is an essay with suggestions to increase a person's chances of winning parole. A fundamental idea of Manna Stories is that the Bible is dramatic, interesting, relevant, useful, and life-changing - life-changing like the meetings with Jesus described in the New Testament and re-told in this book. Manna Stories follows the tradition of books like "Barabbus" by Par Lagerkvist, which imagines the back-story and the subsequent life of the robber who was freed from his death sentence when Jesus was crucified instead.

Book excerpt: A man's son suffers, and he suffers worse every year. A stranger offers him a cure that he cannot accept. Told that his son will die soon, he journeys to save his son's life. A woman is caught in adultery, the penalty for which is death by stoning. Men burst in on her are manhandling her through the streets. She thinks that they are taking her to kill her, but instead they carry her up into the Temple. A woman's daughter has a frightening illness. She hears about a miracle worker. She goes to him, but she is dismayed at his response to her. A man was healed many years ago, after he had been paralysed for 38 years. He gives his testimony in front of the Roman general who has shattered Jerusalem. These stories, or parts of them, might sound familiar. They come from the New Testament Gospels. This collection of stories reverently imagines the backgrounds and subsequent lives of twelve of the people we meet in the Gospels - people who met Jesus in the First Century. The ambition of this book is to refresh people's wonder about these amazing, puzzling, beautiful stories.

Book excerpt: This is a LARGE PRINT EDITION of Manna Stories: Journeys Toward the Heart of Jesus Christ. It is set in 18-point Calibri type. This edition has a glossary and a collection of scriptures that these stories are based on, which are set in 16-point Calibri type. We meet people in the New Testament who come and go in the Gospels, but we don't know where they come from or where they go afterward. These are people like the man with a son who has seizure-like symptoms; the woman caught in the act of adultery; the blind man outside of Jericho; the man paralyzed for 38 years; the lawyer who asks, "But who is my neighbor?"; the demon-possessed man who lived among tombs; a woman by a well in Samaria with a scandalous reputation. Did you ever wonder how these people became who they were when they met Jesus? Did you ever wonder what happened to them afterwards? The author of this book has combed these stories and the rest of the Bible for clues to answer those questions. In this book of 12 short stories, he imagines these people's lives before and after their meetings with Jesus, and he tells the stories of these meetings in more detail than we find in the Gospels. The author's hope is to engage the readers imagination, and activate the reader's interest in stories that sometimes become blurred by too-much familiarity. He invites the reader to agree or disagree with his telling of these stories. Above all, he invites the reader to return to the New Testament Gospels with refreshed wonder. B.Z. Eliphaz is a pen-name.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power". (Isaiah 40:28-29 NASB). Understanding Manna is a book written for everyone that is living in this uncertain world and focused on those, who worry about their eternal destiny. Manna was bread from heaven, which sustained physical life, during the time when the Israelites wandered for 40 years in the desert before entering the Promised Land. However, manna signifies so much more and this book is about recognizing and understanding the manna from heaven which "gives life to the world" (John 6:33 NASB). Understanding Manna is focused on providing you, the reader, with the knowledge and comprehension of the living bread, as "whoever eats this bread will live forever" (John 6:51) and the living water, as whoever drinks this water "will never thirst" (John 4:14). Its purpose is to inform and enlighten so that you can make the most important decision of your life, representing the most seminal moment in your lifetime, and one which will determine how you will spend the rest of your existence in eternity. If you do not understand what all of this means but you don't want any longer to "work for the food which perishes" (John 6:27 NASB) but instead for "food which endures to eternal life" (John 6:27 NASB) and if you are yet searching for answers to life's biggest questions, including the meaning of life, then Understanding Manna is definitely a must read for you.

These short devotions, taken from every book of the Bible give Christians on the go a quick but nourishing word for the day. Having a hearty appetite for the Word of God is as essential to our spiritual walk as the manna the Israelites gathered each morning was for the nourishment of their physical bodies, during their journey through the desert. Daily "Manna Moments" prompt the reader into a time of reflection and application of the Word. The tasty morsels of Scripture in this book are the result of the author's application of Romans 15:4 which says: Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an easy-read motivational and inspirational book filled with scripture passages. It focuses on the practical, daily application of God´s Word, the Bible, as our daily manna or bread from heaven. Moses spoke to the Israelites as they made ready to cross over the Jordan into the Promised Land. He would not be going with them, so he reminded the people of every good thing that God had taught them and had given to them on their journey. "Man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD." Deuteronomy 8:2 3. Reviews: The two greatest gifts you can give any person is the Word of God and prayer. You did a masterful job with both. I also was impressed with how you presented a synopsis of the Gospel of the birth, life, death, resurrection, and return of Christ, as well as presenting the wrath that awaits those that reject Jesus. Your knowledge of the Word and your love for God and people oozed from every page. Debbie and I both felt that the book was chocked full of the Word of God and the scriptures were used in context to present both your heart and the heart of God toward humanity. It was both simple and profound as are all true presentations of the Gospel. Thank you for your confidence in my life to even ask my opinion and thank you for giving us the book. It once again reminded us of the greatness of our God and His love toward all of us. We hope our comments encourage you to continue to allow God to use your life for His glory. Pastor Rick Clendenon, world-renowned christian speaker

I knew the torture of the damned, and I lived that way for years. Mary Manna spent many years in and out of mental institutions, battling the demons of her past. Her life was fraught with major depression, schizophrenia, sexual repression, and eating disorders. Sometimes they generate consideration and enrichment of life, Scripture, and love.

Book excerpt: Sometimes the wilderness is the only place God can get your undivided attention. Everyone finds himself or herself in a wilderness at some point: financial wildernesses, emotional wildernesses, relational wildernesses, health wildernesses, reputation wildernesses, failure wildernesses, unemployment wildernesses—the list goes on and on. In those moments, we are utterly dependent on God for well-timed help. If he doesn’t come through, we’re finished. For forty years, two million Israelites were in the wilderness, and God fed them supernaturally every morning with manna, teaching people who doubted him he can be trusted with everything they needed to survive. This is a lesson we need to learn too. In personal stories and applications of biblical lessons, Manna reveals how God specializes in making a way where there is no way. He proved it every day to the nation of Israel, never missing a day of being faithful. He was never late, and he was never early. He was always just in time. And he will be for you.

Book Touching Stories of My Life in Journey to Christian Holiness and Hands on Patient Care in a Weeping Healthcare

Download or read book Touching Stories of My Life in Journey to Christian Holiness and Hands on Patient Care in a Weeping Healthcare written by Ramsis F. Ghaly FACS, MD and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2019-08-26 with total page 988 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the twelfth book of the series “Christianity and the Human Brain.” It integrates the neuroscience and the Bible, the Holy Book of our Lord Jesus. My love for our Lord, Jesus Christ, abides with my lifetime passion for neurosurgery and medicine, my continual obsession of spiritual connectivity of the Holy Spirit to the human brain that indeed separates mankind from all other living creation. It has been my belief that the human brain does not limit itself to the physical skull but rather extends in a nonphysical form to the outside spiritual world, even while living on earth. In other words, a big part of the human brain is actually outside the skull and the body. As I perform brain surgeries for three decades, I realize my theory is so true. The majestic human brain can’t be just the 1,500 grams of jelled matter inside the skull. The human journey, therefore, is transforming the human brain to become a brain of a man of God and the hand of man to a hand of a man of God. The spiritual human brain never dies, only the flesh. It is the center of my calling and unrelenting meditations while roaming in the heartfelt spirit lacking the physical proof that science demand of me. My life is dedicated to my Lord Jesus, patients, and residents. As a physician, I have reached the top in America, I am a professor of both neurological surgery and anesthesiology, and I am well-published in famous medical journals. As an academic teacher, I trained for more than thirty-four years, graduating thousands of trainee. But all is nothing as I strive for the Christian holiness and fullness. In a weeping healthcare with many patients’ falling victims, I included actual patients’ miracles, testimonials, and sincere quotes as a testament to the Almighty and the dire need for faith and integral goodhearted medicine. This book is full of many vibrant stories that I love to share. It is timely since I consider my generation soon will be viewed obsolete to the future generations, and what will remain are the books I authored. The book is a text of wealth covering broad and diverse topics of my life’s journey in 134 chapters and organized over 14 sections. So many chapters are written about my special love for Lord Jesus Christ and His children. In poems, deep reflections, and spiritual release of mind, I wrote extensively. In fact, I shut my senses and impersonated the human brains of the men of God and the children of the Most High in their prominent biblical stories. A special section is dedicated to the mothers, newborns, and little children. While my soul is grieving, a section is designated on the ongoing Christian persecution, especially the genocide of Christians in my country Egypt, the ancient region of the Middle East, and the oldest historic continent of Africa. Furthermore, I wrote some of my dreams and thoughts that I couldn’t otherwise convey for one reason and another, such as neuroscience in aerospace and some of the timely, touching subjects like drug overdose, human trafficking, and healthcare crises. Few chapters included are about my personal views and introducing spirituality into the recent turmoil in politics. Friends, human life starts with love and ends with eternal love for our Savior. It is never enough to share our love, write about love, and talk about actual love stories of heavenly roses, joy, Christmas, healing touch, miracles, and our calling for his purpose. This is what my twelfth book is all about.
