Download or read book A Call for Holiness written by Tommy E. Woods and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-11-19 with total page 91 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A call for holiness! It appears that in our present time, the world has moved farther and farther from God. Crime is raging all over the land and country. Immorality appears to be an accepted way of life. Attitudes of hatred permeate at many levels of our society. Many churches seem to have lost the mandated mission of soul winning and kingdom building. Many lifestyles of Christians and non-Christians seem to have moved far away from the principles of decent and holy living. Many families have failed to establish and teach biblical principles to their children at early ages; therefore, holy living for them is not a top priority. The fact that many people have not taken holy living seriously enough to spiritually impact their way of life does not negate God's instructions for us to live holy lives. Throughout the Bible, it is expressed over and over again for us to be holy, for God is holy. The ultimate consequence of not living a holy life is that we will miss sharing eternity with God, which is an awesome price to pay. The reason for writing this book came to me in a vision about the need to speak out about our calling from the Word of God to live holy lives. Hearing and applying the call for holy living begins with each individual. If the world is going to get any better, it is going to be up to us the people of God to make a difference. It is my prayer that after reading this book, each of us will aggressively pursue holiness and will also aggressively seek to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others.

Book Cultivating a Holy Heart

Download or read book Cultivating a Holy Heart written by Clemens Russell and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2019-07-29 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Living a holy life centered in God’s word in today’s changing world is becoming more challenging and frustrating for many of Christ’s disciples. The pressure to conform to society and submit to its relaxed morality seems to increase daily in the workplace, in our homes, and even in many of our churches! Some Christians have reacted aggressively to these pressures and in their zeal and passion have moved away from the love and compassion necessary to be effective servants of Christ. Others have retreated into their churches or fellowships, hunkering down to weather the storm but unsure what actions to take. They are just trying to survive but have lost their ability to be the salt and light that this world so desperately needs. Biblical Christians everywhere are in desperate need of a revival of true holiness. This begins with our own personal walk with God. One of the overwhelming needs of believers today is to recapture what the core of Christianity is...having a vibrant, consistent and personal relationship with God. Cultivating a Holy Heart is a daily devotional which can help point us in the right direction. This book will give you simple and sound biblical principles to apply to your own personal walk with God and to inspire you to true, practical holiness.

Book excerpt: The #1 New York Times-bestselling third installment of the All Souls series, and the basis for the final season of "A Discovery of Witches," coming soon to AMC+, Sundance Now, and Shudder. In The Book of Life Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present--facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew's ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches--with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency. In the third volume of the All Souls series, Harkness deepens her themes of power and passion, family and caring, past deeds and their present consequences. In palatial homes and university laboratories, using ancient knowledge and modern science, from the hills of the Auvergne to Venice and beyond, the couple at last learn what the witches discovered so many centuries ago.

Download or read book Holy Spirit Holy Living written by Antipas L. Harris and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2013-07-26 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The language of holiness seems outdated. It is a word that comes to us thwarted by a negative history, associated with undesirable restrictions and oppressive legalisms. What do you do with a term that has been negatively socialized, even among churches, when the God of the Bible clearly states that He wants His people to be holy? Holy Spirit, Holy Living aims to dust off the discarded idiom and rediscover the depth and splendor of holiness. What are some practical implications for theological and spiritual practice? Two broad categories express the particularity of the Church in the world. As such the Church must maintain peculiarity to the world. First, holiness properly understood speaks to being and acting in a way that reflects both a regenerated life in Christ and the ongoing renewal in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Secondly, holiness as a lifestyle must include at least three principles: rest, being, and doing. These three standards undergird a life of conviction of faith and practice, worship for God, and service to others. A holy life follows Christ and is Spirit-filled. It is unbent by society, which is numb to what God wants.

Book A Right Conception of Sin

Download or read book A Right Conception of Sin written by Richard S. Taylor and published by Pickle Partners Publishing. This book was released on 2017-01-12 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The power of the atonement does not, through faith, take us to heaven in our sinful condition, but changes our condition from sinfulness to holiness in order that we may be prepared for heaven. “The atonement does not change the nature of sin, but proposes to change the nature at man. It does not take the deadliness out of sin, but takes sin out of man. Therefore we believe the following three facts essential to God’s plan of redemption: “1. Repentance which leads to saving faith is a condition of salvation, and the attitude of repentance—renunciation and hatred of all sin—must be retained if salvation is to be retained. “2. If at any time practice of sin is resumed, or the means of grace carelessly and continually neglected, or faith in Christ as personal Saviour cease to be active, such sin, either of commission or omission, will again separate the soul from God, and if unrepented of, will ultimately cause the loss of all the benefits once known, and the eternal damnation of the soul. “3. The pardon of all sin through faith and repentance, victory over outward sin, and purging of the nature of all sinfulness, in this life, are three privileges made possible by the blood, and constitute the absolute requirements for entrance into heaven.” (Richard S. Taylor) It is of extreme importance that all Christians have a correct conception of sin. Right living and right thinking will come only to the Christian who understands what the New Testament means by sin. Let this become cloudy, or let it become a matter of indifference, and Christianity will have received a grievous hurt.

Book The Joy of the Gospel

Book excerpt: The perfect gift! A specially priced, beautifully designed hardcover edition of The Joy of the Gospel with a foreword by Robert Barron and an afterword by James Martin, SJ. “The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus… In this Exhortation I wish to encourage the Christian faithful to embark upon a new chapter of evangelization marked by this joy, while pointing out new paths for the Church’s journey in years to come.” – Pope Francis This special edition of Pope Francis's popular message of hope explores themes that are important for believers in the 21st century. Examining the many obstacles to faith and what can be done to overcome those hurdles, he emphasizes the importance of service to God and all his creation. Advocating for “the homeless, the addicted, refugees, indigenous peoples, the elderly who are increasingly isolated and abandoned,” the Holy Father shows us how to respond to poverty and current economic challenges that affect us locally and globally. Ultimately, Pope Francis demonstrates how to develop a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ, “to recognize the traces of God’s Spirit in events great and small.” Profound in its insight, yet warm and accessible in its tone, The Joy of the Gospel is a call to action to live a life motivated by divine love and, in turn, to experience heaven on earth. Includes a foreword by Robert Barron, author of Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of the Faith and James Martin, SJ, author of Jesus: A Pilgrimage
