Some are objective and common to all, like birth and death, success and failure. Some are purely subjective like joy and sorrow, and love and hate. In this duality-ridden world, we earn to spend and enjoy, and again earn to spend and enjoy. We are indeed caught up in these dualities and pairs of opposites. Nirdvandva Sukham teaches us how to free ourselves from their clutches, rise above them and attain "Happiness Beyond Duality." Swami Tejomayanandaji's composition and commentary makes it easy to believe that we too, as we live amongst opposites, can remain unaffected by them, and happy in our own nature.

Book excerpt: Sage Narada is accepted as the primary guru of devotion in Indian tradition. His inspiration is the key reason in conception and subsequent writing of many devotional texts, including Bhagvat Purana. Narada has himself compiled Bhakti Sutra or devotional guidelines for devotees' benefit. It is a short and authoritative work on devotion which is very popular among devotees. In this text, he has established devotion as an independent and superior means of liberation. It is an independent path because it does not require the assistance of other paths like knowledge and action. This is also evident from the examples of several common persons, from all walks of life, who without knowing scriptures or performing their duties as per Vedas, have attained God by their love alone. And, the path of devotion is superior to every other path because it can be practiced by all, it is efficient, unfailing and the most enjoyable. And, it is preferred by God. After establishing the superiority of devotion, Narada describes the multiple ways to practice it so that anyone can achieve his supreme welfare. The path of devotion is quite flexible because a way can be chosen based on the interest, inclination, and habits of the seeker. Ultimately, it is only our intensity which matters to God. This path of love is sweeter than every other conceivable path. The devotees spread its fragrance at all the time, in all the directions, onto everyone whoever comes close to them. Imbibe it and experience the unbounded and ever-present love within.

This book was released on 2014-03 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bhakti Sūtra attributed to Nārada is a collection of 84 aphoristic statements in Sanskrit, dating to the tenth to eleventh centuries in India, on the nature of love for Divinity, which the text describes as the highest, most exquisite form of love. Translating, explaining and interpreting 21 of those statements, William K. Mahony brings these teachings into our contemporary world through his thoughtful and articulate extended reflections on the qualities of this love and on the contours of a life oriented toward strengthening, refining and elevating it. The book also includes Mahony's translation of Nārada's Bhakti Sūtra in its entirety. Basing his reflections on the understanding that God is absolute Love, Mahony speaks of a divine Heart present in our own human sentiments and expressions of love in all its modes, directions and degrees of intensity. He offers readers guidance into ways a Heart-centered spiritual life can open them ever more fully to the reality of Love itself.

Book Narada Bhakti Sutra Essence and Sanskrit Grammar

Download or read book Narada Bhakti Sutra Essence and Sanskrit Grammar written by Ashwini Kumar Aggarwal and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-02-06 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bhakti is a very special attitude. It is a rare kind of lifestyle. It requires tremendous guts, large-heartedness and purity of vision. Narada was an adventurer from long ago, who exemplified the qualities of a Bhakta. We have heard the famous quote - Beauty lies in the eyes of the Beholder. This is what Narada lived. To him each and every one was divine, so he extended his hand to the cruelest sinner and to the most benevolent king. He went out of his way to have a dialogue with serpents and goblins - braving harsh mountains and rough weathers - demons and despots, commoners, officers, soldiers, saints and children. Narada exuded such warmth and caring, he brought such innocence and spontaneity in his wake, that he not only infused his surroundings with vitality, but also imparted a measure of grace. This is the story of the values he lived, that an ancient sage penned down. It has come down to us as priceless nuggets evoking awe and inspiration. It has the charm of taking us on a journey to freedom. For the students of Sanskrit grammar, copious notes giving the case of each word have been clearly listed.
