Book Maker from the Lost Planet

Download or read book Maker from the Lost Planet written by Neal Roberts and published by Neal R. Platt. This book was released on 2023-02-13 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Maker from the Lost Planet is the enthralling second book in the science-fiction series From Heaven To Earth They Came. If you like ancient battles of the gods, dashing and romantic heroes and heroines, action-packed plots, and thrilling suspense, then you’ll love Neal Roberts’ historically inspired tale of ancient lore woven into our modern-day struggle for survival. David Schubert, now America’s first ambassador to the ancient Anunnaki gods, is tasked with building a lasting peace between the two sides. Although the path toward such a peace is complicated by the vast superiority of Anunnaki weapons and spacecraft, David soon learns that an even greater threat to humanity is rapidly approaching. At the landing platform in Baalbek, David is brought aboard the goddess’s pyramid shaped spacecraft (known as a “pyramidion”), where he is immediately informed that a thermonuclear missile of unknown origin has just been fired at the pyramidion from a point in Northern Canada, which David would have thought impossible as, for several weeks, an impenetrable Anunnaki ray has been neutralizing all thermonuclear triggers on Earth. Someone, however, has evidently developed technology that can overcome the Anunnakis’ defensive ray. David needs to identify the source of such mighty technology, as it could be used to wipe humankind off the face of the Earth despite any peace forged between Earth and the Anunnaki. David himself is unable to investigate, as he’s aboard an Anunnaki craft and working in a diplomatic capacity, so his bodyguard, U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Catharine Weldon, is dispatched by the President to Northern Canada to pinpoint the missile’s launch point and, if possible, recover a small scientific submarine that recently went missing while investigating suspicious activity on one of the largest lakes on the North American continent. That night, the icy lake erupts into a violent confrontation between Catharine (with her hastily assembled contingent) and an unidentified saucer-shaped spacecraft under the command of the Anunnakis’ deadliest ancient enemy, who’d long been thought dead. Time is running out for David, Catharine, and humankind. Can all-out war between the gods be averted, and humanity saved from destruction? Professor David Schubert remains a man adrift two years after the death of his beloved wife until, one day, his interest is piqued by the sudden disappearance of a mosque from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, an event that threatens to bring the world to the brink of destruction. But David, based upon special knowledge provided by a friend who’s now dead, recognizes the mosque’s disappearance as portending the return to Earth of the ancient gods of Sumeria. When the Pentagon enlists David in opposing the gods’ invasion plans, he finds himself drawn into a global crisis where his own special knowledge and skills might prove to be the key to halting the coming alien invasion. David is sent to track down his dead friend’s missing translations of obscure Sumerian texts, as they may reveal important secrets about the impending return of a lost planet and a war between powerful gods that began thousands of years ago. As David is increasingly drawn to the beautiful intelligence officer assigned to guard and protect him, his fear grows that their breakneck search from country to country may fail to keep them a step ahead of the otherworldly forces determined to stop him. Can he puzzle out the truth of these long-departed gods before their return destroys the entire planet? Book Destroyer from the Lost Planet

Download or read book Destroyer from the Lost Planet written by Neal Roberts and published by Neal R. Platt. This book was released on 2023-03-20 with total page 375 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Destroyer from the Lost Planet is the enthralling third book in the science-fiction series From Heaven To Earth They Came. If you like ancient battles of the gods, dashing and romantic heroes and heroines, action-packed plots, and thrilling suspense, then you’ll love Neal Roberts’ historically inspired tale of ancient lore woven into our modern-day struggle for survival. The power-hungry and much-despised Anzû, frustrated by the failure of his attack on a summit meeting attended by his Anunnaki foes, begins a campaign to drive a wedge between the Anunnaki and humankind. His devious plan is to persuade Ambassador David Schubert that Enki (half-brother to the Anunnaki king) has always been humanity’s enemy, and that David will need the immortality that Anzû can bestow in order to save the beloved Queen Inanna from an approaching celestial collision. In the event of hostilities between the Anunnaki and Anzû, where Earth will be their battleground, it is clear to everyone that either side would be capable of destroying its enemy’s command-and-control by means of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that can be created by detonating a high capacity nuclear bomb at high altitude. As an EMP would confer a marked advantage upon the first side to use it, it is a highly destabilizing weapon. Anzû, having long seethed over ancient slights, is desperate to gain this advantage to wreak vengeance on those who he believes betrayed him. As David struggles to avert a cataclysmic war, he learns of the Anunnaki lore of a “Destroyer” who, having defeated Anzû in ancient times, is destined to return and defeat him once again. With tensions rising on Earth, David and U.S. Navy Commander Catharine Weldon are dispatched on a diplomatic journey to the pyramidion of Enlil, King of Nibiru, where the Destroyer is believed to reside. The Destroyer, long in love with the beautiful Queen Inanna, enters the fray at last. But even he cannot save the Anunnaki and humankind without David’s help, for no one but David can approach Anzû closely enough to defeat his destructive plans. With the Destroyer’s help — and with Earth in the balance — can David thwart Anzû’s plans for world domination? Will David himself prove to be the new Destroyer? Book Shamanic Secrets Lost Wisdom Regained

Download or read book Shamanic Secrets Lost Wisdom Regained written by Robert Shapiro and published by Light Technology Publishing. This book was released on 2016-11-01 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Due to wars, natural disasters, a shaman not being able to train a successor, and many other reasons, Isis (through Robert) says that 95 percent of the accumulated shamanic wisdom has been lost. Now it is important to regain this wisdom as young people who are able to learn and use these processes are being born now. Beings who lived as shamans and healers on Earth at various times now speak through Robert Shapiro and bring these lost teachings and techniques to a humanity waking up and discovering it has the talents and abilities to use this wisdom for the benefit of all. “This is a time on Earth when people are being rent asunder by dramas in their lives and are overwhelmed by dramas in the lives of others or are sometimes attached to the dramatic events of the day. In times gone by, there were people who provided knowledge, wisdom, and comfort to ease life for their people. “This book is entirely about finding comfort and ease through life. You don’t have to struggle. You don’t have to find substitutes for things you don’t have. You don’t have to get along without things you need. You need food, comfortable shelter, good health, and time to enjoy life. This book does not provide all the answers to all your questions. Rather, it is the beginning of much more to come. “Some of you are interested in how others lived their lives in the past, but most of you — especially those who need something, want something, or are desperately trying to acquire something — are interested in how people from the past acquired those things. Some of the suggestions will seem fantastic or impossible to you. Don’t assume that. Some of you will find you can produce, in some way, a portion of what those shamans from the past were able to do. This might be easier for those of you already on your spiritual path. Even if you are not on any particular spiritual path, don’t assume you cannot do these things.” — Speaks of Many Truths

Book Nuclear Power or a Promise Lost

Download or read book Nuclear Power or a Promise Lost written by Edward T. Burns and published by BrownWalker Press. This book was released on 2020-05-01 with total page 708 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book captures the status of current electrical energy markets including the principal forces affecting decisions on selecting an energy source. It represents a seminal work that lays out the electrical energy decision tree for selecting an energy source in a world that is on the verge of catastrophic global warming because of the choices that have been made in the name of cheap energy. The impetus for this book includes the dire need to mitigate continued anthropogenic causes of global warming by turning to carbon free energy sources. Nuclear energy represents such a carbon-free energy source and could be a partial solution to the existential threat facing future society---the threat of a warming planet and its consequential, catastrophic effects on future generations. The world is at a crossroads in human interaction with their environment. The effects of radiation and the relationship of nuclear power to nuclear weapons are both discussed in an understandable and compelling manner. Nuclear energy is contrasted with other energy sources including fossil fuels and renewable energy sources regarding the risks and benefits imposed by each. Important personalities and world events that shaped nuclear power's development are recounted. The historical origins of nuclear power are outlined and the continued impetus to include nuclear power as part of the electric grid energy mix is assessed exposing the obstacles and road blocks to the continued use of nuclear power. Specific attention is paid to revealing the causes and lessons learned from the three severe accidents in commercial nuclear plants: TMI-2, Chernobyl, and Fukushima. An extensive discussion of nuclear waste disposal is provided as part of the decision tree for energy selection. The context for the future of nuclear power as a viable energy source is illuminated by the current battle between economic growth and the harm created by burning fossil fuels. The status of the world's climate and projections for the disruptive effects of global warming on future populations, migration, economics, and world strife are debated against the backdrop of an increasing world population and the drive by developing nations to achieve economic parity with the industrialized nations. Within the context of increased world strife, the quest by nations to obtain nuclear weapons is also discussed. The steps taken by the world to limit nuclear weapons proliferation are examined with emphasis on potential links between nuclear power generation and access to nuclear weapons. The final chapter discusses the moral responsibility of current generations with respect to future generations, specifically, the applicability of "intergenerational equity" in political and social decision-making regarding the actions that add to global warming and those risk averse actions that can be taken to minimize global warming.

Download or read book Science fiction written by Everett Franklin Bleiler and published by Kent State University Press. This book was released on 1998 with total page 780 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complementing Science-Fiction: The Early Years, which surveys science-fiction published in book form from its beginnings through 1930, the present volume covers all the science-fiction printed in the genre magazines--Amazing, Astounding, and Wonder, along with offshoots and minor magazines--from 1926 through 1936. This is the first time this historically important literary phenomenon, which stands behind the enormous modern development of science-fiction, has been studied thoroughly and accurately. The heart of the book is a series of descriptions of all 1,835 stories published during this period, plus bibliographic information. Supplementing this are many useful features: detailed histories of each of the magazines, an issue by issue roster of contents, a technical analysis of the art work, brief authors' biographies, poetry and letter indexes, a theme and motif index of approximately 30,0000 entries, and general indexes. Science-Fiction: The Gernsback Years is not only indispensable for reference librarians, collectors, readers, and scholars interested in science-fiction, it is also of importance to the study of popular culture during the Great Depression in the United States. Most of its data, which are largely based on rare and almost unobtainable sources, are not available elsewhere.
