Book Two Dimes a Day

Download or read book Two Dimes a Day written by Robert B. McClintic and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-11-03 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As I was contemplating writing this book, after much encouragement from family over the years, I wasnaEUR(tm)t sure about undertaking the task. I wrestled with these thoughts most of one night, and by morning, I knew how to solve my dilemma. I got down on my knees beside the bed and prayed for God to give me a aEURoeGideon-likeaEUR sign to prompt my decision. Later that day, my wife, Nellie, and I were at WendyaEUR(tm)s drive-through for lunch when Nellie stepped out of the vehicle, reached down on the ground, picked something up, and said to me, aEURoeI got you something,aEUR as she placed two dimes in the palm of my hand. I had not told her about my prayer and definitely had not told her that the title of the book, if I wrote it, would be Two Dimes a Day. I first started to laugh then the tears came, and she said, aEURoeWhataEUR(tm)s wrong?aEUR I said, aEURoeDo you know the title of my book?aEUR She said, aEURoeNo.aEUR Divine intervention at His best!My memories of living with addiction began at the age of three. My father was well educated, attended Marshall University, and was a very talented journalist and linotype operator, working for numerous newspapers on the East Coast, including the Washington Post and the New York Times. Our lives should have been very normal and happy; however, his extreme addiction to alcohol quickly destroyed any sense of normalcy. My mother did everything humanly possible to keep our family intact; however, a broken home became evident. At the age of three and five, my brother, Billy, and I were immediately thrust into survival mode. Thanks be to God for His divine intervention into our lives. Also, thank God for Blanche McClintic, my dadaEUR(tm)s first cousin, who instilled a solid biblical foundation into our lives at a very young age. This foundation still sustains us today.

With more than 5 million ebooks sold since Maid for Love debuted in 2011, the New York Times bestselling Gansett Island Series has become one of the most beloved romance series available today. Read three books in the series: Longing for Love, Waiting for Love and Time for Love in this special offering. Book 7: Longing for Love Series favorite Tiffany Sturgil steals the spotlight in Longing for Love as her new boutique Naughty & Nice opens in downtown Gansett, right in time for the annual spring Race Week festivities. Finally divorced and ready for a new beginning, Tiffany wonders if sexy Police Chief Blaine Taylor thinks of her as often as she thinks of him since their explosive encounter last fall. Blaine has been burned in the past by love affairs gone wrong, and he's wary about risking too much too soon. But he quickly discovers that Tiffany's sarcastic rejoinders and bitter outer shell hide a badly wounded heart of gold. He also discovers she's a "sex-toy fraud" and convinces her she can't possibly sell the merchandise without trying it out first... Book 8: Waiting for Love Sometimes the best offense is a good rebound... Adam McCarthy has had a really bad week. What he needs is a few days at home on Gansett Island to make sure his beloved brothers are safe and to get back in touch with what really matters—his family, his friends and the tiny island that soothes his battered soul. On the ferry ride home, he runs into an old family friend who's had her own share of heartache, and Adam helps her through some rough moments, sparking an unlikely alliance. Abby Callahan has come home to Gansett, single once again after her relationship with Dr. Cal Maitland blows up in her face. After two epic failures in the game of love, she's decided this is going to be the summer she busts loose and finally has some fun—and she's shaking things up in a big way! The new Abby swears, drinks, gets a tattoo, sleeps around and generally does anything her kinder, gentler alter ego wouldn't have dreamed of doing. Before too long, Adam has appointed himself her guardian and is determined that the only sleeping around she's doing is with him. Does she have it in her to find out if the third time really is the charm? Book 9: Time for Love Dr. David Lawrence has spent the last two years atoning for his sins and recovering from the devastating breakup with Gansett Island golden girl Janey McCarthy. As the island's only doctor, he's had ample opportunity to show his fellow island residents that there's more to him than the guy who disappointed Janey so profoundly. Now if only he could find a way to forgive himself, he might be able to move on with his life without the woman he'd expected to love forever... Daisy Babson, probationary director of housekeeping at McCarthy's Gansett Island Inn, is in bad need of a fresh start after her relationship with Truck Henry took a violent turn, leaving her battered and broken—in more ways than one. As she recovers from her injuries, her days are made brighter by her visits with David Lawrence. The kind and caring doctor who tended to her after the attack has become much more than a friend to her in recent weeks. Will these two wounded hearts take comfort from one another and move forward on a new path toward love together? Or will ghosts from the past derail them before they get the chance for their own happily ever after?

Book Difficult Blessings

Download or read book Difficult Blessings written by Lori Heaton and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-12-21 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Take Maddie home and make her comfortable for whatever time she has left." Maddie's parents were hearing these words from the doctor after their four-year-old daughter was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension, an incurable life-threatening disease. It was 1997, when there were very few options other than a lung transplant to treat Maddie's disease. Because her parents were unwilling to accept this fate for their daughter, they ended up at the Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Maddie became one of the early pioneers of pulmonary arterial hypertension in the late 1990s when research was just beginning to develop therapies that were an alternative to lung transplantation; treatments that provided hope! This true and inspiring story chronicles Maddie's twenty-year journey of courage and strength. Maddie was an example of determination to all who knew her. Even people who had never met Maddie were inspired by her story. Maddie not only battled pulmonary arterial hypertension, but at the age of six she was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Maddie conquered cancer and lived on to receive two separate lung transplants. Although this is a book about an amazing girl who rose above her adversity to live a full and happy life, it is also a book about discovery. This is a mother's story of how her daughters pain and suffering became vehicles for uncovering her own inner strength and for learning valuable life lessons. The wisdom learned in these hard-gained lessons is what she calls "difficult blessings."
