Book The Monetization of Technical Data

Download or read book The Monetization of Technical Data written by Daniel Trauth and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-01-01 with total page 659 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The monetization of data is a very young topic, for which there are only very few case studies. There is a lack of strategy or concept that shows decision-makers the way into the monetization of data, especially those who have discovered or are threatened by the digital transformation or Industry 4.0. Because machine data is usually unstructured and not usable without domain knowledge/metadata, the monetization of machine data has an as yet unquantifiable potential. In order to make this potential tangible, this work describes not only contributions from science, but also practical examples from industry. Based on different examples from various industries, the reader can already become part of a future data economy today. Values and benefits are described in detail. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content.

Book Sensing Monitoring and Control of Laser Welding of Aluminium Sheets

Download or read book Sensing Monitoring and Control of Laser Welding of Aluminium Sheets written by Benno Aalderink and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2010-12 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Weight reduction is important in the automotive industry. To achieve this, Tailor Welded Blanks (TWB s) are used: body panels consisting of sheets with different thicknesses and/or materials, welded together and stamped into the desired shape. Aluminium TWB s have been introduced only recently. Laser welding is a joining technique that shows high potential to produce the required strong yet deformable welds. In this work various aspects of the laser welding of these thin aluminium sheets are treated, like the development of a control system to ensure full penetration keyhole welding and a camera based monitoring system that allows coaxial in-situ process monitoring. Furthermore several models are presented which help to gain a better understanding the welding behavior. Finally five different laser based welding techniques are compared, among which laser welding with cold wire feeding, twin spot laser welding and laser/GMA hybrid welding.
