Book excerpt: Dans le cadre de cette thèse nous nous sommes intéressés à l'extraction d'informations à partir de données textuelles. Dans ce domaine, deux grandes approches co-existent. La première, qui consiste en un traitement statistique superficiel présente l'avantage d'avoir une mise en oeuvre facile. En revanche, l'information extraite est souvent imprécise, de nature incomplète et bruitée. La deuxième voie, consiste à privilégier des techniques plus profondes d'analyse et de normalisation textuelles ainsi que l'exploitation des techniques d'apprentissage automatique pour acquérir les ressources nécessaires à la tâche. Ce type d'approche, complexe et dont la mise en oeuvre est difficile permet une meilleure prise en compte de la diversité des formulations dans le texte. Il permet également un gain de temps appréciable quand il s'agit d'adapter les ressources, notamment quand la tâche d'extraction change. Dans cette thèse, nous avons contribué à la mise en place d'une chaîne complète d'extraction des interactions géniques à partir de résumés scientifique issus de MedLine basée sur cette seconde famille d'approches. Dans la première partie de notre travail, nous avons mis au point un module de filtrage de phrases, disponible en ligne et déjà utilisé par les biologistes, permettant d'identifier automatiquement les phrases parlant d'interactions. Dans un deuxième temps, nous avons proposé une méthode originale d'acquisition de règles d'extraction basée sur une abstraction de l'analyse syntaxique Les résultats préliminaires obtenus sont prometteurs et montrent que cette abstraction permet d'obtenir une bonne représentation pour l'apprentissage des règles d'extraction.

Book excerpt: Dans cette thèse, je me suis intéressée à deux problèmes de fouille de textes : l’extraction automatique de termes-clés dans des documents textuels et la classification de textes. Pour le problème d’extraction automatique de termes-clés, j’ai défini une nouvelle mesure, le DPM-index, qui discrimine les phrases (n-grammes) qui se chevauchent dans un document. J’ai aussi développé un nouveau système d’extraction de termes-clés basé sur l’apprentissage supervisé qui combine 18 descripteurs statistiques. J’ai expérimentalement comparé mes résultats à ceux de 21 méthodes d’extraction de termes-clés sur le corpus d’articles scientifiques SemEval-2010/Task-5. Ma méthode augmente d’un taux de 13 % la reconnaissance des termes-clés mesurée par le F-score. En particulier, le DPM-index augmente la reconnaissance de mon système d’extraction de termes-clés de 9%. Je montre également que quel que soit le paradigme d’apprentissage supervisé (boosting, bagging et régression) sur ces données pour combiner les 18 descripteurs mon système obtient les meilleurs performances. Pour le problème de classification de textes dans des catégories prédéfinies, j’ai proposé 80 métriques de pondération de termes jamais utilisées pour ce problème et je les ai comparé à 16 métriques de la littérature. Alors que de nombreux travaux antérieurs ont montré l’intérêt d’utiliser une métrique particulière, mes expérimentations suggèrent que les résultats obtenus par ces métriques peuvent être fortement dépendants de la distribution des documents dans les catégories et des mesures de performances utilisées. La solution que j’ai proposée consiste à combiner les métriques proposées afin d’améliorer la qualité de la classification. Plus précisément, j’ai montré sur trois types de corpus différents (ayant des distributions catégorielles différentes) que l’utilisation d’un classifieur SVM qui combine les sorties de classifieurs SVM (qui utilisent chacun une métrique de pondération différente) classe mieux les documents quel que soit le type corpus et quelles que soit les mesures de performance utilisées. La seconde contribution principale apportée au problème de classification est une représentation étendue des termes d’un document dans un espace vectoriel qui permet d’améliorer la prédiction de mon classifieur de textes.

Nous avons également combiné cette méthode avec une méthode de classification proposée par une autre équipe de recherche, obtenant une amélioration significative des performandces observées. Dans la deuxième partie, nous avons développé un système de question-réponse pour le français. Dans ce but, nous avons combiné un modèle probabiliste de la recherche d nformation classique avec une apporche linguistique basée sur l nalyse syntaxique. Puis, nous avons exploité des ressources de traduction automatique afin de prendre en charge des questions exprimées dans d utres langues que le français. le système ainsi conçu à été soumis à deux campagnes d ́valuation et a obtenu des résultats encourageants.

Book excerpt: Les travaux présentés dans cette thèse, réalisés en collaboration avec l'entreprise Digital Scientific Research Technology, ont pour objectif de développer des modèles d'apprentissage de représentation pour les réseaux dans l'optique d'aborder la résolution de différentes tâches de recherche d'information, en particulier sur des données issues de la littérature scientifique.Nous présentons GVNR, un algorithme de plongement de sommets dans les réseaux dont la complexité algorithmique en temps est plus faible que les algorithmes représentatifs de la littérature. GVNR-t, son extension, permet de prendre en compte le texte associé aux sommets dans un réseau de documents. Nous décrivons ensuite MATAN, un modèle qui entraîne un mécanisme d'attention mutuelle entre documents. Nous présentons enfin IDNE, un modèle d'apprentissage de représentation de documents qui s'appuie sur un nouveau mécanisme, l'attention thématique. Nous étudions expérimentalement les performances de ces 4 modèles sur des tâches transductives et inductives de classification des sommets et de prédiction de liens avec 9 jeux de données. Nous montrons que ces modèles réussissent mieux que l'état de l'art sur la plupart des jeux de données et sur toutes les tâches. De plus, nous présentons nos travaux sur la recherche automatique d'experts. Nous introduisons une nouvelle méthodologie d'évaluation et nous fournissons 4 nouveaux jeux de données annotés. Nous montrons expérimentalement la pertinence de notre protocole d'évaluation et mettons en lumière les étapes restantes pour la conception d'un modèle de recherche d'experts reposant sur les techniques de plongement de réseau de documents.
