LEARNING TO PRINT lowercase letters follows on the heels of LEARNING TO PRINT CAPITAL LETTERS and continues the process of developing the skill of printing. The student begins with practicing some of the necessary pencil strokes needed in the making of lowercase letters followed by the letter pages. This book uses a traditional letter construction (font) in the development of good and legible text. The practice pages generally contain a lowercase letter followed by widely separated lines for the beginner. The letters begin in dark gray and gradually lighten as the student traverses down the page, eventually reaching a line in which the letters are dashed. The dashed line of letters is followed by three lines of some lightly colored letters. These are followed by two lines without any guidance letter over which to trace, allowing the student to construct the letter freehand. Each letter page has a couple of objects at the top that begin with, or use, the letter on that page. There is a line on the first page of the book for the student to enter their name once they have the necessary skill. Additionally, if the teacher allows such activity, the student may color some of the black and white objects at the top of the page, the box with the letter, or doodle in the margins, making the learning process fun as well as instructive.
