We all hear stories of sexual molestation, but normally it always consists of two people of the opposite sex. We often hear stories of incest, but very rarely do we hear stories of incest in conjunction with homosexuality. Michael, unwillingly, was a victim of both. Follow Michael's journey through the first twenty years of his life and find out how his torment was hidden from his devoted mother who eventually discovered her husband's deepest and darkest secrets. Read about how Michael comes to grips with his own sexuality and how he deals with the traumatic experiences that he would be forced to endure. What course would Michael's life take afterwards and who would he become? Would he grow to like other men? Or would he become bi-sexual. Would he be scarred for the rest of his life? Find out out in this page turning, rivetting tale.

Download or read book The Spirituality of Otis Clayton Sr written by Otis Clayton Sr. and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2023-11-06 with total page 67 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses how the Porch Community helped me locate my writing voice. The Porch Community is located in the City of Nashville-Davidson County, comprising a cross-section of writers. These writers share a mutual interest in becoming more effective writers. The Porch was cofounded by two accomplished writers, Susannah Felts and Katie McDougall. I composed a sermon as a tribute to how they impacted me through my association as a member of the Porch. This book is to let the larger community know that as member of the Porch, my interest involves writing nonfiction like personal essays, poetry, and sermons. This is different. It expresses my Christian faith, relationship with family and friends, and interest in falling in love with an intelligent and attractive woman.
Download or read book The Office and Philosophy written by J. Jeremy Wisnewski and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-08-31 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just when you thought paper couldn’t be more exciting, this book comes your way! This book—jammed full of paper—unites philosophy with one of the best shows ever: The Office. Addressing both the current American incarnation and the original British version, The Office and Philosophy brings these two wonders of civilization together for a frolic through the mundane yet curiously edifying worlds of Scranton’s Dunder-Mifflin and Slough’s Wernham-Hogg. Is Michael Scott in denial about death? Are Pam and Jim ever going to figure things out? Is David Brent an essentialist? Surprisingly, The Office can teach us about the mind, Aristotle, and humiliation. Even more surprisingly, paper companies can allow us to better understand business ethics. Don’t believe it? Open this book, and behold its beautiful paper... Join the philosophical fray as we explore the abstract world of philosophy through concrete scenes of the unexamined life in The Office. You may discover that Gareth Keenan is secretly a brilliant logician, that Dwight Schrute is better off deceiving himself, that David Brent is an example of hyperreality, and that Michael Scott is hopelessly lost (but you probably already knew that!).
Download or read book The Great Deceptions written by Carey Ingram and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-05-23 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this chaotic world, one thing that is obvious is that the enemy of God, Satan, is using his powers to attempt to deceive the Christian Church and those who have no relationship with Christ at all. He does this by any means necessary. His greatest power is that he knows our weaknesses. He is sullen, taking his time and making light of godly issues. And he is seductive, luring his prey into the world and into his train of thoughts. You must know that this is the only response that this defeated foe can have: try to bring others down into the pit of eternal damnation with him. Keep in mind that Satan has evil spirits who possess people whose only objective is to deceive God's people and the sinner man. As I am convicted to share my thoughts and ideas, my objective is to touch the hearts of people. I am one of many fighting for the very souls of mankind. This is spiritual warfare, and as a soldier, I am just doing what my Commanding Officer has commissioned me to do. I know many people will disagree with me as it is their right; however, I pray those who read this book with an open heart will be blessed in the way God intends. This work is about learning to make good choices that one might grow and be in an intimate relationship with God. This work is not about judging and condemning, but rather, in the spirit of love, I want to be sensitive and enlightening in my efforts to explain what I see as the danger of living worldly lifestyles. However, in order for me to do this, I pray that my readers will hear me out, and give me a real chance to express my beliefs and feelings. In the words of Pastor Rick Warren: "Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, then you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You do not have to compromise your convictions to be compassionate." We are all saved by the grace of God. However, that grace was not free. It was purchased by the blood of Jesus. Therefore, there is no room for compromise. We must know Christ as our Lord and Savior. I pray that this work will help define truth according to God's Holy Word and that this truth will set us all free.

Download or read book Women HIV and the Church written by Arthur J. Ammann and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2012-09-24 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the world watched the biggest global epidemic in history evolve, many anticipated that Christians would embrace those who were affected just as Jesus during his time embraced those who were sick and dying. Mostly, the Christian church stood back and observed. Sometimes Christians responded with stigma and discrimination. Many who sought refuge in the churches--churches where they had served the sick and the poor--were turned away as they now sought refuge for themselves and their children. Individual authors address the critical issues related to the HIV epidemic, women, and the Christian church: how the HIV epidemic affected so many women and children; what the Old and New Testaments teach about our responsibility to the poor, the needy, the sick, the widow, and the orphan; and how difficult it should be for Christians to ignore these teachings. The HIV epidemic continues, and millions of women and children bear a disproportionate share of the pain and suffering without a refuge. Although HIV is a specific disease, it serves as a paradigm for all Christians to ask what other needs they may be ignoring.
