Edelen wraps up the story begun in After a While You Wonder and Tuesday After Next. It Don’t Matter starts with a new “dead or alive” search, this time for married DEA Agent Karen B. Doupchek, reportedly killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Doupchek’s single Joint Task Force partner, Treasury Agent Kevin A. Moore, refuses to believe she is dead. Recounting hearing Karen, as an apparition, saying to him on 9/11, “Wait for me, Kevin. I’m coming back to you.” Obsessed to find out what happened to Karen but unable to get help from the inside with government agencies that ought to know if she is dead, Kevin turns to the outside for help. Book excerpt: In its fight for global dominance, Communist China has thrown out the old rules of war. China expert General Robert Spalding walks us through their new playbook. Many Americans are finally waking up to the alarming reality of China's stealth war on the United States and puzzling over how to push back against its insidious infiltration. What few realize is that we have one real advantage in this war: the Chinese Communist Party strategy for total war has been written out in Unrestricted Warfare, the Chinese book, well known there, that has become their new Art of War. In War Without Rules, retired Air Force Brigadier General Rob Spalding takes Americans inside Unrestricted Warfare. He walks readers through the principles of this book, revealing the Chinese belief that there is no sector of life outside the realm of war. He shows how the CCP itself has promised to use corporate espionage, global pandemics, and trade violations to achieve dominance. Most importantly, he provides insight into how, once Americans are aware of the tactics, we can fight back against CCP’s creeping influence. More than a vital read for those interested in China, War Without Rules is essential reading for anyone—from policymakers and diplomats to businessmen and investors—finally waking up to the stealth war. Knowledge is power, and it’s time to arm yourself.

Download or read book Law and Legal Interpretation written by Fernando Atria Lemaitre and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-11-01 with total page 837 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title was first published in 2003. Leading contemporary essays on interpretation are assembled in this volume, which offsets them against a small number of "classical" works from earlier periods. It has long been recognized that textual sources (constitutions, statutes, precedents, commentaries) are central to developed systems of law and that interpretation of such texts is one highly important element in adjudication, legal practice and legal scholarship. Scholars have also contended that the totality of legal activity is "interpretive" in a wider sense and debates about objectivity have raged. The reasons for this development are here critically scrutinized.
Download or read book Game Without Rules written by Kalman Maduro and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2019-08-01 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, the author builds on a simple premise and ideology that everyone wants to get to heaven but too many are failing to do the works that are required to get there. He likens the eventuality of that person reaching their goal to one being on a journey having no map or well-thought-out plans of the proper route to take. As a result, they become derailed in a quest for the eternal goodness. They become twisted and mangled in thoughts and deeds, beguiled by an adversary who wants to take them in another direction. And the job of the adversary is made easy, because he seduces and paints the false picture that the secular pleasures in life are rather what is fulfilling and brings these to fruition center stage in their lives any and all such things to do with an unscrupulous social life and the full works, to include marriage and divorce in which they get caught up and led astray. He also does not omit to administer the sweet pills of greed, pride, and selfishness. At the end of the day, what it boils down to is that one can otherwise miss the mark on their journey, particularly if they figured they could reach their destination based upon wishful thinking only and not play by the rules. The reading has been made very interesting by lots of humor built in, but there is nothing fictional about the rules we ought to adhere on this journey.
