Book Loud Thoughts of Emotional Silence

Download or read book Loud Thoughts of Emotional Silence written by H. Jerome Alexander and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2014-07-15 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To some people this may just be another poetry book, but to me this is an actual glimpse into my life. My trials, tribulations, and personal issues that I have endured in my life while battling with Bi-Polar disorder. My disorder and personal issues have been used as my inspiration ever since publishing my last book “The Evolution of Love” on February 23, 2012. This book was put together to speak on behalf of those who cannot, the people who have personal issues and are scared to talk about them. The people who are apprehensive to vent their true feelings because of how they may be outcast by society. This book is not intended to glorify or condone dark actions to or for any of my readers. I just want to serve as a vessel for my readers so they know no matter how hard things may be there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel no matter how far away it may seem. A wise poet once told me “Poetry is beautiful. It has no beginning or end. It is abstract and serves as intellectual documentation for raw emotions.” I agree with this 100% because poetry is not just therapeutic, it is an art form that does not discriminate by race, religion, size or geographic location. Thanks to poetry I have found ways to creatively stimulate my mind by channeling “raw emotions” to paper and also feeding information to my brain by studying those poets whom I have the pleasure to work with and those greats that have come before me. Thankfully I have a very strong support system in my corner like my mother, sister, and wife. I also want to thank my biggest supports who are my daughters Eyana, Nevaeh, Savina, and the newest addition to the family my son Adrian “A.J” Alexander.

Loud World, Quiet Thoughts is divided into two parts. The first consists of short prose, aphorisms and quotes focused on the deafening noise of the modern world; of social media, of television, and pressure. It embodies the endless anxiety of contrasting voices and white noise so loud that it drowns out our own thoughts. The second consists of beautiful poetry drawn from our quietest thoughts and the depths of our souls, thoughts about love and heartbreak and, most of all, hope. Above all else, Loud World, Quiet Thoughts is a book about reconciling the secret spaces of your heart with the white noise of the world outside.

Download or read book Emotional Advantage written by Randy Taran and published by Macmillan + ORM. This book was released on 2019-06-04 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Emotional Advantage is such an uplifting answer to our challenging times. In its pages, you will find encouragement, support, and new perspectives. Randy Taran offers an antidote to emotional overwhelm—a powerful way to discover how useful your emotions can be in guiding you towards your best life.”—Marci Shimoff, #1 NewYorkTimes bestselling author of HappyForNoReason and ChickenSoupfortheWoman’sSoul Award-winning author, producer, and founder of Project Happiness, Randy Taran knows that every emotion, feeling, and mental state has the power to bring us back to our true essence, and that readers can use Emotional Advantage as a guide to get there. In recent years, there has been an overwhelming interest in the science of happiness and positive psychology, and many books on the subject. There is a good reason for this: it is a core, universal human drive. And while happiness has opened the door for many to move forward, there is a burgeoning curiosity about the full range of human emotions, all of which factor into the human experience. What do we do when life does not go as planned? Neuroscience reveals that to understand and utilize any emotion, we need to “name it to tame it.” It turns out that even negative emotions have something to offer, if we know how to learn from them. Have you ever woken up in a fog of feelings and felt directionless? Or maybe it was hard to pinpoint exactly what you were feeling, but it wasn’t where you wanted to be? What if we could actually use our feelings as a pathway to guide us back to our inner compass? What if, like alchemists, we had the tools to transform our emotions to take charge of creating our very best life? What if we could comprehend how even the most troublesome emotions are sending messages to alert, protect, and fuel us forward? Emotional Advantage is that guide. It will show us how a new perspective on fear can move us to courage, how guilt can clarify our values, and how anger can help us create healthy boundaries.

Book excerpt: In our fast-paced, noise-filled world, silence is often underappreciated and overlooked. Yet, silence has a profound impact on our mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. In this subchapter, we will delve into the value of silence and explore how it can positively influence every individual. Silence provides us with a much-needed respite from the constant chatter and distractions that surround us. It allows our minds to rest and recharge, fostering clarity and focus. In moments of silence, we can reflect on our thoughts, emotions, and experiences, gaining valuable insights and understanding. Silence provides the space for introspection and self-discovery, enabling us to connect with our inner selves on a deeper level. Furthermore, silence cultivates mindfulness and presence. When we embrace silence, we become fully aware of the present moment, immersing ourselves in the beauty and wonder of our surroundings. It allows us to appreciate the simple joys of life that often go unnoticed amidst the noise and chaos. By being present in the silence, we can let go of worries, anxieties, and stress, finding peace and tranquility within ourselves. Silence also plays a vital role in improving our communication skills. When we listen in silence, we give others the opportunity to express themselves without interruption or judgment. This creates an atmosphere of trust and understanding, fostering meaningful connections and deeper relationships. Through silence, we can truly hear and empathize with others, strengthening the bonds that hold us together as a society. Moreover, silence has a profound impact on our overall well-being. Research has shown that regularly incorporating moments of silence into our daily lives can reduce stress, improve sleep quality, and enhance cognitive function. It allows our bodies and minds to rest and rejuvenate, promoting a sense of balance and harmony.

A girl finds her voice and befriends a stranger, who becomes her closest companion. They speak and sing and laugh, their friendship weathering darkness and light, stormy seas and calm waters. Then, embarking on an uncertain journey to a new land with thousands of others, they become separated. The girl worries that her voice alone is too quiet to find her friend and make herself known—but it’s their voices that lead them back to each other, and that preserve their pasts and pave their future in a new home. The companion to David Ouimet’s acclaimed debut, I Go Quiet, I Get Loud is a poetic and arresting fable about the power of expression and human connection in the face of change.

Download or read book Why Are You So Quiet written by Jaclyn Desforges and published by Annick Press. This book was released on 2020-09-08 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Into a world where it often seems nobody is listening comes a poignant story that celebrates the power of silence. “Why are you so quiet?” Her teacher implores it, her classmates shout it, even her mom wonders it. Everyone, it seems, is concerned for Myra Louise. So, in search of an answer to the tiresome question nobody will stop asking, she invents a listening machine. If the raindrops, or the crickets, or the dryers at the laundromat can tell her why they’re so quiet, maybe Myra Louise can finally make everybody understand. But the more she listens, the less interested she becomes in finding any answer at all. Because Myra Louise comes to realize that all she really needs is someone else to listen alongside her. With gorgeous illustrations from Risa Hugo, Jaclyn Desforges’s first picture book champions introversion and the value of being a listener, a thinker, and an observer in our increasingly loud world.

Book A Rather Loud Silence

Download or read book A Rather Loud Silence written by Frederick Fernakopan and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2022-12-28 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NOTHING STAYS THE SAME!! after all, thankfully, nothing is about the only thing that never alters. No amount of lies, deceit, alteration, corruption and whitewashing can change NOTHING!! THAT RATHER LOUD SILENCE!! I have written, re-written and mulled over writing this book for the past 30 years. So there is some 30 years of hindsight within its content. There is nothing new within this book only that which may have been hidden from YOU the public. Even times and dates are from records taken in diaries, police notes, statements, oh and the odd interview tape and covert tape etc. So as I say nothing to gauge apart from provable things. A bucket load of questions to be asked and answers to be looked into but nothing at all that wasn't available all those years ago!! I tried on many occasions to place my points in various forms of media coverage over the years. Only to have those important points edited out. So I decided just to stay quiet for many years. My reasoning was to try to bring up our children in the way Patricia would want. To keep them aside from all the media attention. Seemingly I didn't do too bad a job. I spent a lot of time trying to get my story heard in the European Court of Human rights. This again was washed under the proverbial carpet around October 1998. About the time when when a deal was done to incorporate human rights laws into our British laws. It is said that we all have skeletons in our cupboards!! well mine have all been searched on several occasions and no skeletons found!! We are all players in this game of life!! Yet it is how we play the hands we are dealt that is the deciding factor!!

Book The Silence Is Too Loud

  • Author : Sandra R. Blythe
  • Publisher : Outskirts Press
  • Release : 2016-10-10
  • ISBN : 9781478782049
  • Pages : 128 pages

Download or read book The Silence Is Too Loud written by Sandra R. Blythe and published by Outskirts Press. This book was released on 2016-10-10 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life lessons tend to present themselves as multidimensional personality experiences. Sometimes the life lesson is introduced physically, other times it is cognitively, emotionally, and/or spiritually. The life lessons sometime appear to stay longer than anticipated because we, as individuals, tend to embrace the lesson from only one dimension at a time, when in essence, "true learning" occurs when we see and embrace our experiences with a multidimensional perspective. Sandra R. Blythe, through this book, The Silence Is Too Loud, has successfully brought together the many layers and gives us a new lens to look through to see how beautiful and powerful we are and encourages us to reevaluate our "Thinking," "Emotions," and our "Behavior." The Silence is Too Loud is a book that requires transparency of the reader. It speaks to the very things we should give credence to and opens the door for dialogue that we make many attempts to keep closed. There are several chapters transporting the reader from "A Whole Other Level" to the invitation of Sandra R. Blythe's own "Self-Reflections." Inevitably, the goal of The Silence is Too Loud is for you the reader to use this as a mirror that will help you become the best version of you. However, in order to achieve this, you must be open and receptive to embrace the very words that challenge you. If you hold yourself accountable, you will embark on a new path that allows you to heal, forgive, release and have "peace that passes all understanding." The Silence is Too Loud, is definitely thought provoking and will bring pause for you to ask yourself "Is It Me." Sandra R. Blythe is overjoyed that you are taking this journey with her, to discover yourself and those around you; revealing a perspective that will leave you energized and motivated to be present not just in your truth, but in the truth. If you read her last book, Poetry in Different Colors you will recognize that The Silence is Too

Book The Longing for Less

    Book Details:
  • Author : Kyle Chayka
  • Publisher : Bloomsbury Publishing USA
  • Release : 2020-01-21
  • ISBN : 1635572118
  • Pages : 273 pages

Download or read book The Longing for Less written by Kyle Chayka and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2020-01-21 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New Yorker staff writer and Filterworld author Kyle Chayka examines the deep roots-and untapped possibilities-of our newfound, all-consuming drive to reduce. “Less is more”: Everywhere we hear the mantra. Marie Kondo and other decluttering gurus promise that shedding our stuff will solve our problems. We commit to cleanse diets and strive for inbox zero. Amid the frantic pace and distraction of everyday life, we covet silence-and airy, Instagrammable spaces in which to enjoy it. The popular term for this brand of upscale austerity, “minimalism,” has mostly come to stand for things to buy and consume. But minimalism has richer, deeper, and altogether more valuable gifts to offer. In The Longing for Less, one of our sharpest cultural critics delves beneath the glossy surface of minimalist trends, seeking better ways to claim the time and space we crave. Kyle Chayka's search leads him to the philosophical and spiritual origins of minimalism, and to the stories of artists such as Agnes Martin and Donald Judd; composers such as John Cage and Julius Eastman; architects and designers; visionaries and misfits. As Chayka looks anew at their extraordinary lives and explores the places where they worked-from Manhattan lofts to the Texas high desert and the back alleys of Kyoto-he reminds us that what we most require is presence, not absence. The result is an elegant synthesis of our minimalist desires and our profound emotional needs. With a new afterword by the author.
