Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I want what Jesus paid for. I cannot tell you how many times I went before the Lord in prayer with these words. At times, I pictured Him rolling His eyes at me, thinking, Oh no, there she is again! I am thankful He really did not do that. God wants us to be free. He does not want the baggage we are experiencing to stop us from having a blessed life. We know Jesus paid for our healing. We need to learn how to receive it. It does not just fall on us. I had a lot of afflictions and desperately needed to learn how to receive what Jesus paid for. It is my prayer that the help I found will also help you. Healing is a breath of fresh air for those who are praying for healing and for those who are studying healing.

Download or read book Island of the Mad written by Laurie Sheck and published by Catapult. This book was released on 2017-09-12 with total page 449 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following on the heels of her exciting and widely acclaimed A Monster's Notes, and with Sheck's characteristic brilliance of language, Island of the Mad follows the solitary, hunchbacked Ambrose A., as he sets out on a mysterious journey to Venice in search of a lost notebook he knows almost nothing about. Eventually he arrives in San Servolo, the Island of the Mad, in the Venetian Lagoon, only a few minutes' boat–ride from Venice. At the island's old, abandoned hospital which has been turned into a conference center, he discovers a mess of papers in a drawer, and among them the correspondence and notes of two of the island's former inhabitants—a woman with a rare genetic illness which causes the afflicted to gradually become unable to sleep until, increasingly hallucinatory and feverish, they essentially die of sleeplessness; and her friend, a man who experiences epileptic seizures. As the sleepless woman's eyesight fails, she wants only one thing—that her friend read to her from Dostoevsky's great novel, The Idiot, a book she loves but can no longer read herself. As Ambrose follows their strange tale, everything he has ever known or thought is called into question.

Download or read book Digging Up Armageddon written by Eric H. Cline and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2022-05-17 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A vivid portrait of the early years of biblical archaeology from the acclaimed author of 1177 B.C.: The Year Civilization Collapsed In 1925, famed Egyptologist James Henry Breasted sent a team of archaeologists to the Holy Land to excavate the ancient site of Megiddo--Armageddon in the New Testament--which the Bible says was fortified by King Solomon. Their excavations made headlines around the world and shed light on one of the most legendary cities of biblical times, yet little has been written about what happened behind the scenes. Digging Up Armageddon brings to life one of the most important archaeological expeditions ever undertaken, describing the stunning discoveries that were made there and providing an up-close look at the internal workings of a dig in the early years of biblical archaeology."--
Download or read book The Holy League of Rudy written by Barton McGuire and published by Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency. This book was released on 2018-10-02 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fats’ mother names him Ian Wendell Thomas at birth, something his friends correct in early childhood. A true connoisseur of the finer things (women, beer, music, food, general self-indulgence, women), Fats leaves school behind as soon as possible and devotes his time to, well, the finer things. The central California coast of the aimless 1970s is the perfect place for such devotions. His friends (who call themselves the Holy League of Rudy) invoke the dying spirit of ‘60s activism by daring to deface the grotesque new downtown mall, delaying its bicentennial grand opening and costing its owners millions. Not long after the mall raid, Fats falls for and marries Amanda, achingly beautiful heiress to the largest family-owned vineyards in California. Nothing is ever simple, however. Amanda’s father, unaware of Fats’ past crimes, is also the primary investor in the afore-mentioned mall, and a man whose dangerous displeasure only a fool would willingly invite. When the marriage goes south, Fats finds himself on the Z-list of the brutal neighborhood mafia, forcing the Holy League to fight back with the most vicious weapon at their disposal: unrelenting, irresistible mirth.
