Book QUOD EST SUMMUS EN QUE QUEDAMOS SUPREMO

Download or read book QUOD EST SUMMUS EN QUE QUEDAMOS SUPREMO written by VIII QUORUM VIII and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2014-08-20 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Personas Africanas y Afrodescendientes en Espa a Ayer y Hoy written by Julia Borst and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2024-10-07 with total page 494 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Writers of the Spanish Colonial Period

Download or read book Writers of the Spanish Colonial Period written by David William Foster and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 1997 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "These critical studies propose innovative readings and overall reformulations of the texts and authors that stand as representative of the period for the contemporary reader. The first group of articles refers to reports, chronicles, and Renaissance epics, a vast block of texts that fall in most cases halfway between history and narrative fiction, and examine the experiences of the discovery, the conquest, and the colonization of the new territories. The second group concentrates on regionally marked texts from the Baroque period, especially those of the central figure of the Mexican nun poet and intellectual, Sor Juana In s de la Cruz. Finally, there are some essays on representative texts of the latter part of the colonial period."--Publisher's description.

Download or read book A Rocket in My Pocket written by Max Décharné and published by Profile Books. This book was released on 2010-12-09 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rockabilly had its roots in country, blues, folk, hillbilly, R&B, boogie-woogie and most other indigenous Deep South forms of popular song that you could strum three chords along to or howl down a cheap microphone. It was young people's music, made almost entirely by the first wave of teenagers, despised by adults in general and the country music establishment in particular. Its pioneer exponent, Elvis, eventually become respectable in the eyes of straight society but he was the exception. 1950s rockabilly was a spontaneous outburst of spirited three-chord songs, tiny record labels, primitive studios, fiercely partisan audiences and wild-eyed, driven performers who weren't even sure that their musical careers would last the week. The book charts the rise (and fall) of the original 50s wave of rockabillies. It will also follow the progress of the music, in clubs, on radio, TV and film, pinpointing the key record labels and important regional centres, showing how fashions eventually changed and left rockabilly high and dry, far too wild and primitive in an era of smoother sounds. Décharné traces the music to its Memphis roots.
