Book Ethics and governance of artificial intelligence for health large multi modal models WHO guidance

Download or read book Ethics and governance of artificial intelligence for health large multi modal models WHO guidance written by World Health Organization and published by World Health Organization. This book was released on 2024-01-18 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the capability of algorithms integrated into systems and tools to learn from data so that they can perform automated tasks without explicit programming of every step by a human. Generative AI is a category of AI techniques in which algorithms are trained on data sets that can be used to generate new content, such as text, images or video. This guidance addresses one type of generative AI, large multi-modal models (LMMs), which can accept one or more type of data input and generate diverse outputs that are not limited to the type of data fed into the algorithm. It has been predicted that LMMs will have wide use and application in health care, scientific research, public health and drug development. LMMs are also known as “general-purpose foundation models”, although it is not yet proven whether LMMs can accomplish a wide range of tasks and purposes.

Book A Class of P Stable Hybrid Linear Multistep Methods with Minimal Phase Lag Error for Second Order Initial Value Problems

Download or read book A Class of P Stable Hybrid Linear Multistep Methods with Minimal Phase Lag Error for Second Order Initial Value Problems written by Isaac Felix and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2018-10-05 with total page 63 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2018 in the subject Mathematics - Miscellaneous, grade: 82.0%, University of Benin, language: English, abstract: P-stable hybrid linear multistep methods (HLMMs) have been an interesting focus for the numerical solution of second order initial value problems (IVPs) in ordinary di_erential equations (ODEs), because of their high order of accuracy. In this thesis, we present a new class of P-stable HLMMs with order p = 2 and p = 4 respectively for the numerical solution of second order systems. The hybrid schemes which are obtained via Pade 0 approximation approach have minimum Phase-lag error. Numerical experiments are carried out to show the accuracy of the proposed schemes. Nevertheless, the desire in this work is on high order P-stable schemes (p > 4). We give a proposition with proof, stating the limitation of the approach in search for higher order P-stable formulas. Key words: P-stability, Phase-lag error (PLE) constant, Hybrids, order, Interval of periodicity, Pade 0 approximation, Principal local truncation error (PLTE).
