Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can a 50-page book literally change your life? Heaven is a place that everyone wants to go to, but, sadly, not everyone will get there. As you read through this book, I would like you to consider very carefully where you will end up after leaving this world. Will it be Heaven or it will be Hell? The choice is yours. I will keep referring to this point as we go on our journey through this book, because it is so important, both to you and to me. During this year, I have written three small books and they are as follows: * The Cruise * The Broken Bits and Pieces of Life * Faith in the Furnace The first one tells of a journey to Heaven and what Heaven will be like for all of those who get there. The next book is about the broken lives we sometimes have and how to get them mended. The third one is totally different to the first two as it tells us of how people in the past have had to put up with things coming against them, simply because they believed God rather than man. This one is also a study of the book of Daniel. It also tells of the things that he saw and the dreams of the rulers of his day and what they meant. It also tells of some of the historical things which came true from those dreams and revelations many years and centuries later. Books 1 to 3 are all now in circulation and are obtainable from Amazon. This fourth one is my attempt to show the opposite side to eternity from the first book, The Cruise. This fourth book is going to try to show you the opposite side to eternity from the first book in this series, The Cruise. Heaven is a place that everyone wants to go to, but, sadly, not everyone will get there. That is the message of the Bible. As you read through this book, I would like you to consider very carefully where you will end up after leaving this world. Will it be Heaven or it will be Hell? The choice is yours. I will keep referring to this point as we go on our journey through this book, because it is so important, to you and to me. If you are ready for a radical change in your life, one that will go on into eternity, then hit the BUY button and start reading...! ~ John Harrold

  • Author : Beppe Severgnini
  • Publisher : Penguin
  • Release : 2019-02-12
  • ISBN : 1592408729
  • Pages : 226 pages

Download or read book Off the Rails written by Beppe Severgnini and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2019-02-12 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this witty and entertaining collection of travel tales, an acclaimed journalist explores his obsession with trains--and what his rail journeys have taught him about culture and identity. "I've gone around the world in installments. Every trip has been a revelation. I've watched regions, nations, and continents change moods and I've met more people on trains than in forty years of airplane flights. Every train trip has been a spectacle. Trains are stages, cafés, bazaars. The only talk show that will never go off the air..." Beppe Severgnini has spent his life traveling the world, and not just because he's a journalist; he's a passionate, unflagging train buff. Off the Rails recounts some of his favorite trips across Europe, Australia, Asia, and the United States, each journey bringing readers not only to a different place but to a different time, from his honeymoon on the Trans-Siberian Express (in a four-person compartment!), to a winding journey from Russia to Turkey during the last summer of communism, to a recent coast-to-coast trip with his son from Washington, D.C., to Washington State. Off the Rails is the perfect getaway for anyone with a touch of wanderlust, who dreams of escape or just likes to laugh. Filled with memorable characters and perceptive observations, it demonstrates--hilariously--what unites us. With the world in chaos and life in perpetual fast-forward, it's always the right time to hop on board with Beppe Severgnini and meet your charming, hapless, quarrelsome, romantic, shifty, quirky, endearing neighbors.

And how does memory shape our lives? As a nine–year–old, Elizabeth Farnsworth struggled to understand the loss of her mother. On a cross–country trip with her father, the heartsick child searches for her mother at train stations along the way. Even more, she confronts mysteries: death, time, and a locked compartment on the train. Weaving a child’s experiences with memories from reporting in danger zones like Cambodia and Iraq, Farnsworth explores how she came to cover mass death and disaster. While she never breaks the tone of a curious investigator, she easily moves between her nine–year–old self and the experienced journalist. She openly confronts the impact of her childhood on the route her life has taken. And, as she provides one beautifully crafted depiction after another, we share her journey, coming to know the acclaimed reporter as she discovers herself.
