Book Welcome Niqynu

Download or read book Welcome Niqynu written by Greg J. Delle and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2015-11-30 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author Greg J. Delle has not yet completed his lifetime study of natural humanity and manipulated governed humanity. He and his childhood giraffe friend (Niqynu) travel back through time to when Delle was one year old, to the present, and to the future. Delle depicts how our great inventors, writers, and a host of gifted legends became successful. Despite a system of scarce schooling and academics, they still prevailed. Delle compares this with current academic standards and how academics can affect a child’s creativity. He asks what good are competition and the disease of believing you have to be number one. The twelve hours a day of study and homework a child has – does it teach each and every child to be better than one another? Instead, it would be better to have schools that teach parenting and help people respect and be polite to one another. Delle and Niqynu study the history of religion and how it has affected and continues to affect modern civilization. Of course, God is energy shared by everyone. Delle and Niqynu studied the laws of the Bible, modern school bureaucracy, and the government system - its laws, rules, regulations, fines, penalties, and restrictions. This arduous squeezing system comes down on parents and poor people, to force their children to fit the modern moral mold. Delle and Niqynu question the behavior of adolescents and adults. The rule of sexual societal behavior needs to be set free. Delle and Niqynu never stop asking questions because it is their destiny to help prevent child abuse. Just look at all of the mental and physically abused children. His questions are still unanswered. Come and join them on their quest.

Book excerpt: It is 1984 in a used car lot in Chillicothe, Missouri, as a group of old fibbers share stories of their good times and misadventures while growing up together in small town America during the 1930s. As Max and his aging buddies play cards and swap tales, they all agree that there's nothing like stories of the good old days. Max begins by recalling the summer he turned eight and traveled with his family to his aunt Selma's house in Denton, Texas. Max thinks he has already seen lots of excitement just in the train trip there, but it is only after he meets his cousin, Gaylord, that he learns the true meaning of ornery. After Chuck confesses that his sister, Carrie, and her baby goat is the reason Principal Koodle banned all farm animals from school, he tells all the old fibbers exactly the reason why. As the stories continue through weddings and funerals, high school pranks, misfired fireworks, and one dead dog, the old fibbers gladly return in memory to a simpler time. The Fibber's Club shares a collection of entertaining stories about young Max and his buddies as they embrace all life has to offer during an unforgettable era in Middle America.

Book Native Athletes in Sport Society

Download or read book Native Athletes in Sport Society written by C. Richard King and published by U of Nebraska Press. This book was released on 2005-01-01 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Though many Americans might be aware of the Olympian and football Hall of Famer Jim Thorpe or of Navajo golfer Notah Begay, few know of the fundamental role that Native athletes have played in modern sports: introducing popular games and contests, excelling as players, and distinguishing themselves as coaches. The full breadth and richness of this tradition unfolds in Native Athletes in Sport and Society, which highlights the accomplishments of Indigenous athletes in the United States and Canada but also explores what these accomplishments have meant to Native American spectators and citizens alike. ø Here are Thorpe and Begay as well as the Winnebago baseball player George Johnson, the Snohomish Notre Dame center Thomas Yarr, the Penobscot baseball player Louis Francis Sockalexis, and the Lakota basketball player SuAnne Big Crow. Their stories are told alongside those of Native athletic teams such as the NFL?s Oorang Indians, the Shiprock Cardinals (a Navajo women?s basketball team), the women athletes of the Six Nations Reserve, and the Fort Shaw Indian Boarding School?s girls? basketball team, who competed in the 1904 World?s Fair. Superstars and fallen stars, journeymen and amateurs, coaches and gatekeepers, activists and tricksters appear side by side in this collection, their stories articulating the issues of power and possibility, difference and identity, representation and remembrance that have shaped the means and meaning of American Indians playing sport in North America.
