Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I heard someone once say that we are a generation of excuses. There is some truth in that I cannot deny. If you ask me, I believe we are a generation of fear, and thats why we make excuses. This collection is to show the progress of letting go of things that hold us back from being individuals. Whether we want to admit it or not, it is fear that keeps us from rising to our potential. We are scared to take a chance and be bold; I have come to learn that it doesnt make a difference whether you are like everyone else or the mix- matched color in the crowd. People are always going to have something to say. If you ask me, I would much rather be talked about for being the odd one than to disappear in a crowd. Plus its much more fun! This collection is made up of snapshots of different situations that may occur and that will have you second-guessing yourself. I want nothing more than for it to be guidance for some young girl or even a boy. Realize that you may fall a couple of times, maybe more than some, but no matter what keep pushing along. Dont give up! Let it go and move forward. Of course it wont be easy, and tomorrow is not promised for another chance, but that doesnt mean you cant think positive. At the end of the day, everyone has the advantage.

Klee Cato, a Fairhaven Central school teacher, maneuvered her 1972 Chevy into the parking lot, intending to purchase some groceries in case the snowstorm ushered in a big dumping. Once she placed the shift gear into park, she was stunned at the sight before her as she peered over the car's hood. That fateful encounter ignited a personal journey of powerful lessons for Klee, her students, and those who came into her life. The novel, "Forever Footprints," which is based on a true dog rescue, details how her experiences would lead her from failure to triumph, passion to heartache, and the memory of two loves that would forever endure.

Book Singular Algebraic Curves

Download or read book Singular Algebraic Curves written by Gert-Martin Greuel and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-12-30 with total page 569 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Singular algebraic curves have been in the focus of study in algebraic geometry from the very beginning, and till now remain a subject of an active research related to many modern developments in algebraic geometry, symplectic geometry, and tropical geometry. The monograph suggests a unified approach to the geometry of singular algebraic curves on algebraic surfaces and their families, which applies to arbitrary singularities, allows one to treat all main questions concerning the geometry of equisingular families of curves, and, finally, leads to results which can be viewed as the best possible in a reasonable sense. Various methods of the cohomology vanishing theory as well as the patchworking construction with its modifications will be of a special interest for experts in algebraic geometry and singularity theory. The introductory chapters on zero-dimensional schemes and global deformation theory can well serve as a material for special courses and seminars for graduate and post-graduate students.Geometry in general plays a leading role in modern mathematics, and algebraic geometry is the most advanced area of research in geometry. In turn, algebraic curves for more than one century have been the central subject of algebraic geometry both in fundamental theoretic questions and in applications to other fields of mathematics and mathematical physics. Particularly, the local and global study of singular algebraic curves involves a variety of methods and deep ideas from geometry, analysis, algebra, combinatorics and suggests a number of hard classical and newly appeared problems which inspire further development in this research area.

Book Using ICT to Enhance Teaching and Learning in Chemistry

Download or read book Using ICT to Enhance Teaching and Learning in Chemistry written by Steve Lewis and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2004 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Information and Communications Technology has revolutionised the ways we process, access and use information and, as computers and other devices become ever more powerful, and information becomes more readily available, the next generation will need to be able to interact with digital media effectively to exploit these amazing new technologies to their full potential for the benefit of society. It is therefore imperative that teachers become familiar with ICT and its true potential and can present information with a perspective similar to that which the present generation of young people is using to develop their interests in their everyday life. This resource from the RSC gives teachers of chemistry the practical help needed to integrate ICT into their teaching and stimulate the enthusiasm of a new generation of scientists in the exciting new areas of chemistry that are opening up such as Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Furthermore, it will be highly effective in developing the new ethos of sustainability that will be a major driving force behind the next advances in chemistry that are vital if we are to survive the manifold problems confronting society in the next few decades. This resource is ideal for all secondary teachers of chemistry, trainee teachers and university lecturers.
