Dans ce souci d'anticipation et d'adaptation de l'orthophoniste (comme de la structure d'accueil) ce mémoire donne la parole à des parents anglais, irlandais, marocains et tunisiens concernés par la surdité de leur enfant. Ils évoquents notamment leurs connaissances de la surdité, la place de ce handicap dans leur culture, le suivi orthophonique français. Ils abordent aussi leurs difficultés de parents et d'immigrés face à la prise en charge en France de leur enfant sourd, sans oublier le problème de la langue de celui-ci, en référence au pays d'origine et au pays d'accueil. A partir de ces témoignages, quelques pistes ont été décelées afin d'optimiser l'accompagnement de nouvelles familles d'origine étrangère non francophone, accompagnement mené par l'orthophoniste et la structure d'accueil.
