Book Les huiles essentielles f minines

Download or read book Les huiles essentielles f minines written by Jutta Lenze and published by Le Mercure Dauphinois. This book was released on 2012-07-27 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Revisiting Moroccan Migrations

Download or read book Revisiting Moroccan Migrations written by Mohammed Berriane and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-02-02 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the 20th century, Morocco has become one of the world’s major emigration countries. But since 2000, growing immigration and settlement of migrants from sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Europe confronts Morocco with an entirely new set of social, cultural, political and legal issues. This book explores how continued emigration and increasing immigration is transforming contemporary Moroccan society, with a particular emphasis on the way the Moroccan state is dealing with shifting migratory realities. The authors of this collective volume embark on a dialogue between theory and empirical research, showcasing how contemporary migration theories help understanding recent trends in Moroccan migration, and, vice-versa, how the specific Moroccan case enriches migration theory. This perspective helps to overcome the still predominant Western-centric research view that artificially divide the world into ‘receiving’ and ‘sending’ countries and largely disregards the dynamics of and experiences with migration in countries in the Global South. This book was previously published as a special issue of The Journal of North African Studies.

Book Into the Heart of the Feminine

Download or read book Into the Heart of the Feminine written by Massimilla Harris and published by . This book was released on 2015-03 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Book for Women...and for Men This is a powerfully moving book that goes beyond gender roles into the soul of the archetypal feminine, exploring how it has been damaged and traumatized, and finding out how this condition affectsall of us. Written in a way that makes the material truly accessible to a wide audience, the authors' own personal and professional experiences are dynamically woven throughout the book in the form of rich and compelling stories.Massimilla and Bud Harris show how our feminine vitality can be restored by journeying into its heart and into the archetypal ruins ofthe feminine within ourselves. In these ruins, we will find the fertile ground and the archetypal motifs for healing the feminine within ourselves and our lives and renewing our capacities for strength, love and creativity.Imagine within each of us,there is a deep, powerful source for living lives of love, creativity and fulfillment...To imagine this foundation for life and the energy it produces is to imagine ourselves and our world filled with the influence of thearchetypal feminine - her passionate creativity, love and ageless knowing. Personally and culturally, this force - which lives at the heartof our lives - has been diminished and wounded until it seems to have retreated beyond the horizon, in a world filled with rationalismand an anxious search for the material "good life."

Book excerpt: Scholars around the world are researching the degree to which colour was employed in classical and medieval sculpture. Their numerous activities and projects were most recently presented and debated at an international colloquium held in the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung in Frankfurt. The current contributions of 20 internationally known scholars are brought together in this richly illustrated book in English. Among specialists, the educated layperson's ideal of an antiquity in shining white marble has long since been dismissed as an historical error. The classical and medieval reality of coloured sculpture is now regarded as an incontrovertible fact. As long ago as the early 19th century, statues with remains of their original paint were not only discovered in Greece, but news of them was published. In the 20th century, these discoveries were at first neglected. However the work done by a team under the archeologist Vinzenz Brinkmann, resulting in an exhibition shown worldwide since 2003 entitled"Gods in Colour", has put new life into this research and literally changed the way we see Antiquity. The extent of this revolution is graphically captured by the present volume with articles ranging from the controversial history of this research to the current state of the art of reconstructing historical painting techniques and the latest scientific methods of analyzing material residues. It culminates in the changes in the perception and significance of sculpture brought about by colour. With illustrations and commentary on numerous examples of ancient and medieval works, this volume unfolds a rich panorama of polychrome statuary on the basis of the latest research results.
