Book Management Control and Creativity

Download or read book Management Control and Creativity written by Sophie Bollinger and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-01-04 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Innovation is an essential growth lever for organizations. Like any strategic element, it must be managed to ensure the right decision is made at the right time. When we talk about management, we naturally also consider management control. However, using management tools can be a danger to developing creativity – an essential element of innovation. This book examines the interdependencies between management control and creativity. By comparing two organizational contexts, we highlight the vital role of organizations as generators of creativity. We also underline the acceptance of an imbalance between the elements in tension, which can lead to the questioning and fostering of innovation; and the role of senior management as mediators between organizations and local actors.

Book Innovation Economics Engineering and Management Handbook 1

Download or read book Innovation Economics Engineering and Management Handbook 1 written by Dimitri Uzunidis and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2021-06-08 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Innovation, in economic activity, in managerial concepts and in engineering design, results from creative activities, entrepreneurial strategies and the business climate. Innovation leads to technological, organizational and commercial changes, due to the relationships between enterprises, public institutions and civil society organizations. These innovation networks create new knowledge and contribute to the dissemination of new socio-economic and technological models, through new production and marketing methods. Innovation Economics, Engineering and Management Handbook 1 is the first of the two volumes that comprise this book. The main objectives across both volumes are to study the innovation processes in todays information and knowledge society; to analyze how links between research and business have intensified; and to discuss the methods by which innovation emerges and is managed by firms, not only from a local perspective but also a global one. The studies presented in these two volumes contribute toward an understanding of the systemic nature of innovations and enable reflection on their potential applications, in order to think about the meaning of growth and prosperity.

Book The Sustainable City in Africa Facing the Challenge of Liquid Sanitation

Download or read book The Sustainable City in Africa Facing the Challenge of Liquid Sanitation written by Esoh Elamé and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-04-19 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book questions the role of liquid sanitation in the development of cities in Africa. The absence of sewerage networks and treatment plants in African cities already submerged by rapid and anarchic urbanization is a major problem. To meet this challenge, it is urgent to rethink urban water governance and impose and enforce sustainable urban planning standards. In other words, sanitation issues must now be placed at the heart of urban planning.

Book Les pens es conomiques 1 Des origines Ricardo

Download or read book Les pens es conomiques 1 Des origines Ricardo written by Jacques Wolff and published by FeniXX. This book was released on 1987-12-31T23:00:00+01:00 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Transparency in Postwar France

Download or read book Transparency in Postwar France written by Stefanos Geroulanos and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2017-09-05 with total page 636 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book returns to a time and place when the concept of transparency was met with deep suspicion. It offers a panorama of postwar French thought where attempts to show the perils of transparency in politics, ethics, and knowledge led to major conceptual inventions, many of which we now take for granted. Between 1945 and 1985, academics, artists, revolutionaries, and state functionaries spoke of transparency in pejorative terms. Associating it with the prying eyes of totalitarian governments, they undertook a critical project against it—in education, policing, social psychology, economic policy, and the management of information. Focusing on Sartre, Lacan, Canguilhem, Lévi-Strauss, Leroi-Gourhan, Foucault, Derrida, and others, Transparency in Postwar France explores the work of ethicists, who proposed that individuals are transparent neither to each other nor to themselves, and philosophers, who clamored for new epistemological foundations. These decades saw the emergence of the colonial and phenomenological "other," the transformation of ideas of normality, and the effort to overcome Enlightenment-era humanisms and violence in the name of freedom. These thinkers' innovations remain centerpieces for any resistance to contemporary illusions that tolerate or enable power and social coercion.
