Book Les effets orthographiques en perception de phon mes

Download or read book Les effets orthographiques en perception de phon mes written by Fany Gemin and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Effets Orthographiques Sur la Perception Des Mots Parl s written by Mathilde Muneaux and published by Omniscriptum. This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Spaces and Identities in Border Regions

Download or read book Spaces and Identities in Border Regions written by Christian Wille and published by transcript Verlag. This book was released on 2015-11-30 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spatial and identity research operates with differentiations and relations. These are particularly useful heuristic tools when examining border regions where social and geopolitical demarcations diverge. Applying this approach, the authors of this volume investigate spatial and identity constructions in cross-border contexts as they appear in everyday, institutional and media practices. The results are discussed with a keen eye for obliquely aligned spaces and identities and relinked to governmental issues of normalization and subjectivation. The studies base upon empirical surveys conducted in Germany, France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Book Rhyme and Reason in Reading and Spelling

Download or read book Rhyme and Reason in Reading and Spelling written by Lynette Bradley and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nursery rhymes have been told to children for centuries. Many people think that they are just meant to make children smile. However, preschool children's awareness of rhyme and alliteration has an important influence on their success in learning to read and to spell. In Rhyme and Reason in Reading and Spelling, the authors explore this causal hypothesis using a new research design of combining longitudinal methods with intervention, and they provide strong evidence to show that there is a positive relationship between recognizing similar sounds, as found in nursery rhymes, and learning to read and to spell. The authors also investigate the relationship of this skill to children's learning difficulties. This is the first volume in the International Academy for Research in Learning Disabilities Monograph series.

Book The Lexicon in Acquisition

Download or read book The Lexicon in Acquisition written by Eve V. Clark and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1993 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Without words, children can't talk about people, places, things, actions, relations, or states, and they have no grammatical rules. Without words, there would be no sound structure, no word structure, and no syntax. The lexicon is central in language, and in language acquisition. Eve Clark argues for this centrality and for the general principles of conventionality and contrast at the core of language acquisition. She looks at the hypotheses children draw on about possible word meanings, and how they map their meanings on to forms. The book is unusual in dealing with data from a wide variety of languages, in its emphasis on the general principles children rely on as they analyse complex word forms, and in the broad perspective it takes on lexical acquisition.

All examples are carefully glossed and the relevant characteristics of Old French are clearly explained, which makes it uniquely accessible to non-specialists and linguists at all levels of training.

Book Word Morphology and Written Language Acquisition Insights from Typical and Atypical Development in Different Orthographies

Download or read book Word Morphology and Written Language Acquisition Insights from Typical and Atypical Development in Different Orthographies written by Lynne G. Duncan and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2019-06-05 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Research Topic explores the processing of morphemes, the smallest units of language that bear meaning and that combine to form more complex words. The articles gathered under this Research Topic investigate typical and atypical morphological processing by children and adolescents in ten different languages. These articles provide cross-linguistic and cross-script evidence of the early sensitivity of children to the morphemic structure of words, irrespective of whether they are struggling readers or typically developing. All in all, the collection allows for a better understanding of how morphological processing skills develop, providing valuable clues as to how this competence can be used as a tool to improve literacy acquisition in struggling readers.

Book Handbook of French Semantics

Download or read book Handbook of French Semantics written by Francis Corblin and published by Stanford Univ Center for the Study. This book was released on 2004 with total page 592 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on the semantic particularities of the French language, covering five empirical themes: determiners, adverbs, tense and aspect, negation, and information structure. The specialists contributing here—including general linguists in France and French linguists in the Netherlands—take formal approaches to semantics and its interface with syntax and pragmatics, highlighting meaning in its relation to both structure and use. Their results should be of particular interest to French and Romance linguists who want to study French from a formal semantic perspective and to general linguists who are interested in cross-linguistic semantics.
