Étude portant sur l'une des périodes phares de la construction de la solidarité franco-américaine, Le Front populaire et les États-Unis de Marc Chaux souligne, dans un mouvement qui englobe aussi bien les domaines économiques, politiques que diplomatiques, la convergence de vues de deux pays, mis à mal par une crise majeure, et s'apprêtant à faire face à un nouveau conflit mondial. Travail fourmillant de détails et d'éléments de recherche précieux, issu d'un doctorat mais aujourd'hui mis à la portée de celles et ceux qui aiment à remonter le fil du temps pour en retirer une vision plus juste, cet essai s'impose par sa faculté à rendre sa matière vivante et démocratique.
