La rationalisation démocratique correspond à la façon dont des acteurs rationnels s'approprient la gestion de l'entreprise selon un processus démocratique qui transforme la façon dont se définit l'efficacité gestionnaire. La recherche de l'efficacité incarnée par la gestion est donc relative à une situation sociale. On peut dire ainsi qu'une entreprise qui développerait un tel processus rend sa gestion plus concrète (Feenberg, 1999), c'est-à-dire, adaptée au contexte qui fait d'eux des acteurs, Dans le cas contraire, il s'agirait d'un " préjudice " au concret : la gestion ne tient pas compte du contexte dans lequel elle s'inscrit. Ce processus est étudié au travers de quatre études de cas de sociétés coopératives ouvrières de production.

However, the perception of onsite or decentralized sanitation technologies for urban areas is gradually changing, and is increasingly being considered as long-term, sustainable options in urban areas, especially in low- and middle-income countries that lack sewer infrastructures. This is the first book dedicated to faecal sludge management. It compiles the current state of knowledge of the rapidly evolving field of faecal sludge management, and presents an integrated approach that includes technology, management, and planning based on Sandecs 20 years of experience in the field.
