Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is no exaggeration to say that of the early 20th century German philosophers who claimed to establish a new ontology, former neo-Kantian turned realist Nicolai Hartmann is the only one to have actually followed through. "Ontology: Laying the Foundations" deals with "what is insofar as it is," and its four parts tackle traditional ontological assumptions and prejudices and traditional categories such as substance, thing, individual, whole, object, and phenomenon; a novel redefinition of existence and essence in terms of the ontological factors Dasein and Sosein and their interrelations; an analysis of modes of "givenness" and the ontological embeddedness of cognition in affective transcendent acts; and a discussion of the status of ideal being, including mathematical being, phenomenological essences, logical laws, values, and the interconnections between the ideal and real spheres. Hartmann’s work offers rich resources for those interested in overcoming the human-centeredness of much 20th century philosophy. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Laying Foundations and Meeting Objections, Deanne Siemer gives you the questions to ask and the answers to get from your witness so that your exhibits will be admitted in evidence. Set up the foundation for an exhibit and protect against the objections available to your opponent. This text provides easy-to-follow examples for text documents, e-mails, spreadsheets, computer printouts, charts, graphs, maps, diagrams, drawings, computer animations, and more. Never lose an exhibit to your opponent's objection. Make sure you do not miss any of the four elements of foundation: competence of the witness, identification of the exhibit, relevance, and authentication. Each of the elements has specific requirements right from the evidence rules. Keep yourself on firm ground so that each element is met. See how you can separate the objection to foundation from the other objections--hearsay, original document, and policy (undue prejudice, confusion, waste of time)--so that you can respond quickly and effectively when your opponent challenges your exhibit..

This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 613 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Laying the Foundation: A Handbook of Catholic Apologetics and Fundamental Theology is a classic text by the late Fr. Joseph Clifford Fenton, a highly respected author, professor, and theologian of the twentieth century. “This book appeared in 1942 under the rather unimposing title We Stand with Christ: an Essay in Catholic Apologetics. It should have become a classic. It is, I believe, the greatest work of apologetics produced in a time of superstar apologists such as F. J. Sheed, Ronald Knox, and Fulton Sheen. It represents the high point of apologetics as well as a gold standard for subsequent works of fundamental theology.”—from the foreword by Scott Hahn, Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Book Building Foundations in Yakutsk

Download or read book Building Foundations in Yakutsk written by N. I. Saltykov and published by . This book was released on 1950 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Continuous study of existing experience in construction for occupancy and industrial purposes in Yakutsk was begun in 1929 by the Yakutsk Expedition of the USSR Academy of Sciences. This institution was reorganized in 1941 into the Permafrost Station of the V.A. Obruchev Institute of Permafrostology of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The importance of this accumulated experience extends far beyond Yakutsk, which is one of the largest towns of the Soviet northeast. The entire central portion of Yakutia and the districts bordering thereon have permafrost and climatic conditions similar to those of Yakutsk. This mades it possible to apply the lessons of construction in Yakutsk over that entire territory, which is largest in area than Germany and France combined. Some of these conclusions may even be applied over the entire permafrost zone, that is, over a territory of ten million square kilometers. That indicates the importance of the study of construction experience in Yakutsk and its great practical significance at the present moment, when many permafrost districts are becoming rapidly growing centers of industry. Download or read book Building Foundations for Ehealth written by WHO Global Observatory for eHealth and published by World Health Organization. This book was released on 2006-12-06 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The World Health Organization's (WHO) strategy on eHealth focuses on strengthening health systems in countries; fostering public-private partnerships in ICT research and development for health; supporting capacity building for eHealth application in member states; and the development and use of norms and standards. Success in these areas is predicated on a fifth strategic direction: investigating, documenting and analyzing the impact of eHealth and promoting better understanding by disseminating information. To that end, WHO undertook a global survey on eHealth with which to garner baseline data on the current state of eHealth. Executed between mid-2005 and mid-2006, it represents the first attempt to examine eHealth from a regional as well as global perspective. Developed and implemented by the Global Observatory for eHealth (GOe), the survey focused on processes and outcomes in key eHealth action lines previously identified by the World Summit for the Information Society (WSIS), which are supported by WHO as an overall framework for action.--Publisher's description.

Book excerpt: Church planting involves laying foundations. The quality of these foundations has profound implications for what can be built on them. Strong and secure foundations provide the basis for healthy churches and effective mission. Effective church planting, according to Paul, requires the grace of God, appropriate expertise, and considerable care. This book is not a training manual. It is for practitioners rather than theorists. It contains many questions and considers various answers. Church Planting lays some theological foundations for church planting and invites church planters to think seriously about missiology and ecclesiology.
