Download or read book Laboratorio per lo sviluppo dell attenzione e delle abilit cognitive written by Gabriella Trevisi and published by Edizioni Centro Studi Erickson. This book was released on 2015-01-01 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Advances in Molecular Spectroscopy

Download or read book Advances in Molecular Spectroscopy written by A. Mangini and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-09-17 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Molecular Spectroscopy, Volume 1 covers the proceedings of the Fourth Meeting of Molecular Spectroscopy, held in Bologna, Italy on September 7-12, 1959. This book is organized into three parts encompassing 69 chapters. The first part presents first some experimental and correlations studies on molecular structure, followed by discussions on the application of molecular spectroscopic techniques for molecular structure determination. Part II reviews experimental determination of Raman intensities, vibrations of aromatic rings, and IR spectra and electronic structure of various organic compounds. Part III considers the general theories on molecular spectroscopy. This topic is followed by surveys on electron energy, orbital valency, relations among potential energy of diatomic molecules, and determination of rotation structure. This book will be of value to molecular spectroscopists and analytical and organic chemists.

Book excerpt: Cognitive Enhancement: Pharmacologic, Environmental and Genetic Factors addresses the gap that exists in research on the topic, gathering multidisciplinary knowledge and tools that help the reader understand the basics of cognitive enhancement. It also provides assistance in designing procedures and pharmacological approaches to further the use of novel cognitive enhancers, a field that offers potential benefit to a variety of populations, including those with neurologic and psychiatric disorders, mild aging-related cognitive impairment, and those who want to improve intellectual performance. The text builds on our knowledge of the molecular/cellular basis of cognitive function, offering the technological developments that may soon enhance cognition. Separate sections cover enhancement drugs, environmental conditions, and genetic factors in terms of both human and animal studies, including both healthy/young and aging/diseased individuals. Provides a multidisciplinary knowledge, enabling a further understanding of cognitive enhancement Offers coverage of the pharmacologic, environmental, and genetic factors relevant to the topic Discusses cognitive enhancement from the perspective of both healthy and diseased or aging populations Topics are discussed in terms of both human and animal studies

Book Evidence Based Public Health

Download or read book Evidence Based Public Health written by Ross C. Brownson and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2010-12-03 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are at least three ways in which a public health program or policy may not reach stated goals for success: 1) Choosing an intervention approach whose effectiveness is not established in the scientific literature; 2) Selecting a potentially effective program or policy yet achieving only weak, incomplete implementation or "reach," thereby failing to attain objectives; 3) Conducting an inadequate or incorrect evaluation that results in a lack of generalizable knowledge on the effectiveness of a program or policy; and 4) Paying inadequate attention to adapting an intervention to the population and context of interest To enhance evidence-based practice, this book addresses all four possibilities and attempts to provide practical guidance on how to choose, carry out, and evaluate evidence-based programs and policies in public health settings. It also begins to address a fifth, overarching need for a highly trained public health workforce. This book deals not only with finding and using scientific evidence, but also with implementation and evaluation of interventions that generate new evidence on effectiveness. Because all these topics are broad and require multi-disciplinary skills and perspectives, each chapter covers the basic issues and provides multiple examples to illustrate important concepts. In addition, each chapter provides links to the diverse literature and selected websites for readers wanting more detailed information. An indispensable volume for professionals, students, and researchers in the public health sciences and preventative medicine, this new and updated edition of Evidence-Based Public Health aims to bridge research and evidence with policies and the practice of public health.
