La réapparition d'une malocclusion ou de malpositions dentaires constitue alors la récidive post-thérapeutique. Notre travail s'intéresse à cette problématique. Dans un premier temps nous rappelons les principes actuels de la récidive post-orthodontique et de la contention. Nous abordons les facteurs responsables de la récidive et les moyens de prévention devant être pris en compte lors de la période de contention. Dans un deuxième temps, nous avons orienté notre travail sur une enquête réalisée aux "Journées de 1' Orthodontie 2004 " auprès de praticiens exerçant 1' orthodontie. Notre objectif est de donner un aperçu de leur vision sur plusieurs thèmes touchant la récidive post-orthodontique. Ensuite, lors de la discussion, nous mettons en parallèle leurs réponses avec les données trouvées dans la littérature pour en tirer des conclusions sur le niveau de concordance des avis donnés.
