L'année 2012 a également marqué le 20e anniversaire de la relance, en 1992, du marché unique européen. Le présent rapport est essentiellement consacré au rôle joué par la politique de concurrence pour exploiter le potentiel de croissance du marché unique. En 2012, la Commission a également poursuivi sa collaboration avec les autorités nationales de la concurrence (ANC) afin de garantir une application cohérente des règles de l'UE en matière d'ententes et d'abus de position dominante. Elle a, en particulier, étroitement coopéré avec les autorités nationales de la concurrence au sein du réseau européen de la concurrence (REC), en s'efforçant notamment de promouvoir la convergence des procédures nationales qui visent à garantir le respect des règles de l'UE en matière d'ententes et d'abus de position dominante et qui ne sont pas régies par des dispositions générales du droit de l'UE -- EU Bookshop.
