Book I Prodigi della Nuova Scienza

Download or read book I Prodigi della Nuova Scienza written by Carlo Mele and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2010-11-16 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Francesco Cupani Naturalista contemporaneo written by Pietro Proietto and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-11-12 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Constitutionalism and the Rule of Law

Download or read book Constitutionalism and the Rule of Law written by Maurice Adams and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2017-02-02 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rule of law and constitutionalist ideals are understood by many, if not most, as necessary to create a just political order. Defying the traditional division between normative and positive theoretical approaches, this book explores how political reality on the one hand, and constitutional ideals on the other, mutually inform and influence each other. Seventeen chapters from leading international scholars cover a diverse range of topics and case studies to test the hypothesis that the best normative theories, including those regarding the role of constitutions, constitutionalism and the rule of law, conceive of the ideal and the real as mutually regulating.

Download or read book Prairie School written by Federico Bucci and published by Compositori. This book was released on 1998 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A collection of essays and writings by the architects of the American Midwest "prairie school" style of architecture. Between 1900 and the early 1920s, a group of American architects active in the Midwest gave birth to an original movement: the Prairie School. "Prairie" in the literal sense but also as the symbol of the will to assert the values of an American culture free from European influence. The Prairie School comprised talented architects such as Barry Byrne, William Drummond, George Elmslie, Walter Burley Griffin, Marion Mahony, George Maher, William Purcell and, of course, Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright. The essays and original writings by the architects will help to define the features of a school that imposed itself both locally and against the wider background of a "frontier" American culture, based on democratic principles, the relationship with nature and individualism.

Book Florence Capital of the Kingdom of Italy 1865 71

Download or read book Florence Capital of the Kingdom of Italy 1865 71 written by Monika Poettinger and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2017-12-28 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited collection provides the first comprehensive history of Florence as the mid-19th century capital of the fledgling Italian nation. Covering various aspects of politics, economics, culture and society, this book examines the impact that the short-lived experience of becoming the political and administrative centre of the Kingdom of Italy had on the Tuscan city, both immediately and in the years that followed. It reflects upon the urbanising changes that affected the appearance of the city and the introduction of various economic and cultural innovations. The volume also analyses the crisis caused by the eventual relocation of the capital to Rome and the subsequent bankruptcy of the communality which hampered Florence on the long road to modernity. Florence: Capital of the Kingdom of Italy, 1865-71 is a fascinating study for all students and scholars of modern Italian history.

Download or read book After Taste written by Slavko Kacunko and published by via tolino media. This book was released on 2021-06-03 with total page 855 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After Taste is an inquiry into a field of study dedicated to the reconsideration, reconstruction and rehabilitation of the concept of Taste. Taste is the category, whose systematic, historical and actual dimensions have traditionally been located in a variety of disciplines. The actuality and potential of the study is based on a variety of collected facts from readings and experiences, which materialize in the following features: One concept (figurative Taste), two thinking traditions (analytic and synthetic/continental) and three interrelated dimensions (systematic, historic and actual) are presented in three parts or volumes. As such, the study presents a salient comprehensive companion for wider readership of humanities approaching conceptions of Taste for the first time. Moreover, After Taste is intended for anyone who hopes to make a further contribution to the subject. Since its appearance and apparently short triumph some 250 years ago, the concept of non-literary Taste remained the linchpin of aesthetic theory and practice, but also a category outreaching aesthetics. Taste as the personal unity of the production, theory and criticism of art and literature, which was still largely taken as a given in the eighteenth century, has meanwhile given way to a highly-differentiated art world, in which aesthetic discourse is placed in such a way that it can seemingly no longer have a conceptual or linguistic effect on general opinion making. After Taste fills the gaps of systematic research by a comprehensive tracing of the emergence of the doctrines, discourses and disciplinary dimensions of Taste up to the peak of its systematic and historical trajectory in the eighteenth century and onwards into the present day. The guiding goal is a post-disciplinary rehabilitation of the contested category as a preparation for its productive usage in emerging academic and popular contexts. It shows how the category of Taste became the foundation, legitimation and the catalyst for the emerging division of labour, faculties and disciplines, confirming the hypothesis of the immense impact and actuality of Taste in the contemporary world.
