Book Decouvertes a Travers La Meditation

Download or read book Decouvertes a Travers La Meditation written by Julien Bouchard and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2011-10 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book The Art of Meditation and the French Renaissance Love Lyric

Download or read book The Art of Meditation and the French Renaissance Love Lyric written by Michael Giordano and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 697 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Art of Meditation and the French Renaissance Love Lyric examines the poetics of meditation in the French love lyric at the height of the Lyonnais Renaissance as illustrated by one of the country's most prominent writers. Maurice Scève's Délie is the first French sequence of poems devoted to a single woman in the manner of Petrarch's Rime. It is also the first Renaissance work to use emblems in a sustained work on love. At their core, most amatory lyrics involve a triple relation among lover, beloved, and the meaning of love. Whether the poet-lover is a man or woman, poetic discourse generally takes the form of an interior monologue frequently intermingled with direct and indirect address to the beloved. Though the dominant quality of this lyric is personal introspection, Michael Giordano finds Délie to be consistent with traditions of Christian meditation. He argues that the amatory lyric served as a vehicle for contests of value and paradigm change not only because it was conditioned both by sacred and profane sources, but also because it occurred at a time of religious upheaval and scientific revolution.

In his new book, he talks about his techniques and how to use them to achieve mental silence. Todays society suffers from stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, negativity, and much more, leading to unhappiness, diseases, consumption of medicaments and drugs, Dr Martin says. Regular practice of mental silence meditation can prevent and cure many ailments. It also treads the path of full realization of ones potential. Although stress is a normal part of life, too much of it can have debilitating consequences. Dr. Martin, a psychiatrist and Ayurvedic physician, has been teaching meditation to his patients since 1990. This has helped about 95 percent of his patients, who experience mental silence, a feeling he describes as a totally peacefully state of consciousness in which thinking process stops and a deep physical and mental relaxation is experienced. He shares his techniques for achieving mental silence in his eponymous book. It is specially written for people living busy, fast-paced lives who want to meditate efficiently and achieve fast results. The steps shared are practical, measurable, clearly explained, and easy to practice. Dr. Bertrand Piccard, a psychiatrist and explorer, recommends the method. If you have picked up this book, it probably means that the search for pioneering solutions to further improve your quality of life is a matter that excites your curiosity. Not all of us can be discoverers of the universe, but we can go a long way just by exploring our own selves. Our mind is the richest, most valuable, and most efficient resource that is permanently available to each of us. Dr. Martin is proposing a conscious and serene method to shape up our mental, spiritual, and physical capacities. The method is simple, fast, and effective. Let yourself go, and you may land way beyond your usual certainties.

Book Meditation

    Book Details:
  • Author : Charles H. Spurgeon
  • Publisher : Felipe chavarro
  • Release : 2021-03-01
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 48 pages

Download or read book Meditation written by Charles H. Spurgeon and published by Felipe chavarro. This book was released on 2021-03-01 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To encourage God’s people, we present this issue of the Free Grace Broadcaster on Meditation. Meditation is essential for a healthy walk with Christ and growth in grace. Charles Spurgeon introduces this subject with a helpful overview of the importance, practice, and benefits of biblical meditation. Thomas Watson defines what it is. Thomas Manton is convinced meditation is a biblical duty, and he tells us why. What is the nature of meditation? Isaac Ambrose answers that and describes the time, place, and matter of that holy practice. William Bates beautifully instructs us in occasional meditation, focusing on God’s creation, and George Swinnock offers five descriptions of solemn and set meditation on sacred subjects. Are there real dangers in neglecting this holy act of deep thinking? Edmund Calamy lists twelve! And they are sobering. John Owen, a deeply spiritually-minded pastor and theologian, presents us with practical helps for meditating upon God, and then A. W. Pink meticulously shows us how to approach a biblical text so that we can chew the Bread of Life. Are you new to meditation and wonder what to meditate about? In a second article, Thomas Watson gives a beautiful panorama of biblical themes to fix our hearts on, starting with God in eternity, progressing to Christ in history, and extending to heaven and hell. Then, Jonathan Edwards urges us to show our love to Christ; he does so by giving us a wonderful description of His loveliness. Spurgeon, a great advocate and practitioner of meditation, closes this issue by instructing us with sweet meditations of Jesus Christ our Lord. And how precious they are! Be forewarned: meditation is hard in our too-busy, distracted world; but this FGB is a brief “how-to” that we pray will fan the flames of your heart to seek the glory of Christ in Scripture and to love Him as never before.

Book MEDITATION

Download or read book MEDITATION written by DENNIS HILL and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2014-08-07 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through meditation we begin to get glimpses of the stillness. With practice, the stillness enters us, and we begin to enjoy the spontaneous inner sense of serenity. Over time the stillness becomes the foundation of our perception and we look out on the world from our peaceful presence. Once we know this as our Self we can be free of the anxiety, doubt, disappointment, and fear, just being the watcher. This is Deep Peace. It might come as a surprise that consciousness, the Self, is the watcher of the mind. In this we can become the impartial witness of mental dramas, creating separation between the watcher and the chaos of ego. Fortunately, the mind begins to like the stillness, and the suffering evaporates due to lack of interest. In this we become truly happy and content.
